Free $100 Reward Card after a Nissan Navara Test Drive

1450

I found this hidden gem while browsing Nissan's website.
All you have to do is to visit a specific Nissan dealership's website and wait for the popup (wait 2 -3 seconds) as per the screenshot.
Steps:
1. Register your details, you should obtain a unique code after you've completed the registration process.
2. A salesman will get in touch from your elected dealership to organise a test drive of the Navara (Make sure it is for a Navara only).
3. Go for the Test drive and complete it and obviously don't forget to provide your unique code.
4. Dealer should allocate your $100 voucher for free within 1 - 2 days.
So far i've noticed that these dealerships are offering this:
- Ferntree Gully - https://www.ftgnissan.com.au/
- Ringwood Nissan - https://www.ringwoodnissan.com.au/
- Blackburn Nissan - https://www.blackburnnissan.com.au/
- Werribee Nissan - https://www.werribeenissan.com.au/

Feel free to add to the list as i'd recommend sharing the load across Victoria for test drives.
I couldn't find any in NSW or WA.

I got mine the same day.

After the test drive, did you get called up by the sales person every day asking you whether you were interested in buying the Navara? ;)

    • +7

I simply told them that i haven't made my mind yet and will reach out to them myself. No calls so far

    • Yeah, risk vs reward not worth it IMO.

      • +3

        your profile pic though, lol

      • What risk? Just block them, are you scared of people calling you or worried you will end up buying the car?

        • No, you just answer a call and say no. We have better things to do than chase ghosts

  • +49

Go for the Test drive and complete it and obviously don't forget to provide your unique code.

Just be upfront and say that you're just there for the $100. They'll give it to you without a test drive. Don't waste their time if you're not interested.

    • +14

Let us know how you go.

      • +39

In a different state, but I'm in the industry. I've been part of brands that have done this before, and the manager said exactly that, if they're just here for the free shit just give it to them and don't waste your time.

        • +13

Gyms are the opposite. If you tell them you're only there for the free trial they'll try and get you out of there pronto.

          • +10

@peterpeterpumpkin: Agreed, I remember once I registered for a free trial for a fairly newish gym, I was probably 20% yes to signing up and 80% no due to the location but I figured I’d use the trial and see how I go. After I registered for the free trial, I got the appointment to go in and the lady completely tried to sign me up ( before I even had used the gym). I advised her that I wanted to trial before I went into any contract. She absolutely cracked it, advised me I can’t do the free trial because it’s “expired” (even though it was still on their website, and she’d let me use the gym for that one day only.

I got a little annoyed but did my workout and left. Funny enough I checked a month later and the offer was still there (on their website). I did think about calling head office to let them know the circumstances I was given (which to be honest was rude) but decided there was no point because even if they gave me the free trial I wouldn’t take it (due to the lady giving her rant at me).

            • +3

@eltito: that's absurd, the whole point of the trial is to see if you'd like the place
I'd completely understand her reaction if you said you'd bugger off after the trial's over but that's not what you said

              • @bakemon0: Yeh I know, I was actually really close to calling head office just so I could get my free trial and roll back into the gym and let her know I was here to use the trial for the entire week or two (can’t remember how long it was). But I Decided against it, as I couldn’t be bothered with the gym anymore due to her attitude.

                • +2

@eltito: Hate these types of "company heroes". It's as if they are a major shareholder in the business or something. Even if they are that's no way to treat a customer! What's the point of having the promo?

You should complain and see if they come back and offer you a discount :)

                  • @abc: Yeah, this happened about 8-9 years ago, I’m not even sure if the gym chain still exists, but I agree, she was definitely a company hero, either that, or was having a bad day.

I don’t know if a discount would have enticed me enough to sign up - as she did let me try out the gym for that day only and it wasn’t anything special, BUT, I was tempted to complain just to get my free trial so I could stick it to her.

To me, the worst part was her lying about the trial saying it had expired and it shouldn’t be on the website and they don’t allow it anymore etc - it was still on there website a month after all this happened. That’s what really annoyed me.

          • @peterpeterpumpkin: I tried 7 different gyms in my area. Some free trials and some Groupon 1 month deals. I finally liked the 7th one and went on with it. It was brand new with all equipments and even cheaper than other gyms in my area.

          • @peterpeterpumpkin: Probably because there are so many gyms you could spend your life gym hopping.
            Vs
If you went to one nissan dealership they now have your details and I'd assume you'd be ineligible for the same promo at other dealerships.

    • +24

      Spackbace, this is shit advice!
I tried this and was kicked out.
No reward card and obviously an uncomfortable experience.

  • +5

Great find, registered. Now to muster the courage and head to the test drive.. 😰

    • +1

      Yeah it's a bit awkward isn't it.

    • +39

I'm imagining a 17 year old on their Learners permit still in school uniform or fast food restaurant uniform stepping off a bus, walk to the sales department of the dealership and in a cracking voice
"I'm here to test drive the Navara - ummmm I heard you also are giving away free $100 credit cards? Can I have one please?"

  • +3

Anyone found any NSW dealer participating?

  • +20

It be cool the dealerships get swamped by OZB freeloaders looking for a $100 card .

    They deserve it :)

    • +5

OzB tailgate party in the parking lot?

    • Why do they deserve it and why do many upvotes for this dribble?

      • +1

Because car dealer sales ppl are renowned for playing games and (profanity) ppl around with bullshit tactics.
        They deserve it

        • I hope you get a good deal next time you are dealing with one.
You sound like a nice guy who deserves a bargain!

  • +1

So, the free $100 reward card is provided by the dealership on the day, and not directly by Nissan?

If the dealership gets massive number of customers coming in for the test drive, they will simply assume they are all there for the $100 EFTPOS card. What's in it for them then? Why would they waste time arranging test drives when the customers are simply incentivized by the free $100 reward card?

    • Dealer should allocate your $100 voucher for free within 1 - 2 days.

Nope, card is 'sent in the mail' ;)

Why would they waste time arranging test drives when the customers are simply incentivized by the free $100 reward card?

The best part is, all the enquiries come via this entry form, meaning they know exactly what you're there for. You can't bluff around that

      • -1

The best part is, all the enquiries come via this entry form, meaning they know exactly what you're there for. You can't bluff around that

Yet they will have to pretend otherwise, and waste their time organising the test drive.

        • Or just harass you with questions till you admit why you're there. Put you through the ringer, go see the Business Manager for a finance quote, etc etc

          • +6

@spackbace: I have cash, why do I need a finance quote? I just want to try it to see if I want to buy it. "Not into it, I tried it because of the incentive, the Hilux has the right vibe for me, $100 please"

    • It's directly by Nissan. The dealership's role is to facilitate the Test drive and capture the unique code.

  • +16

There has got to be better ways to promote your car to genuine buyers.

    • +3

Agreed. This is a poorly thought out marketing gimmick from Nissan. Sure, who doesn't love free stuff!
Now you cannot distinguish between genuine interest in the Navara versus those who are simply there to claim their $100 reward card.

      • the dealers can see who added the code when registering, presumably. so they absolutely know.

      • -3

ScoMo probably the head of their marketing dept.

    • Yes, it's easy, make them pay and take the payment off the price of (any) purchased car.

Free is totally the wrong approach.

  • nothing works in SA

    • +21

That's usually the case for many things..

      • There are pills for that…

What advantages does this motor car have over, say, a train - which I could also afford?

I'll put an ad up on Airtasker or Gumtree where I pay people $50 to take a Nissan test drive that I've pre-organised.

If 20,000,000 sign up for my offer I'll make $1 billion. You can try proving me wrong but you can't prove maths wrong. Check mate.

    • +2

      try proving me wrong
      $100 Reward cards aren't valued at $100😉

    • +2

They go in with your driver's licence?

    • +2

I'll put an ad up on … Gumtree
      Tell him he’s dreaming!
      20,000,000 people agree😂

    What is a rewards card

    • +8

      $100 towards your next Navara

      • +13

$100 towards your next Navara car mats.

      • 🤣

      • +1

$100 towards repairs once the warranty expires.

        • -1

More like once you drive out of the dealership lol

  • +1

This works for WA also. I got a coupon code for Morley but could select from any dealer in WA

    • Did you complete the transaction in Morley. That’s close to me

      • Nah I just signed up and got a coupon code.

    • +1

Really? I couldn't get a popup on any of the WA nissan dealer websites

      • +1

I can’t get a pop up either I’ve tried Cannington and Morley

        • Try in incognito

    • I can't get it to show up in Morley or any Nissan dealer over here. I've tried incognito, normal, no ad blocking… hmmm

      • My local in Osborne Park didn't work either..

  • +14

I did a test drive and got $100 gift card from Lexus years ago. It was a truely awkward chat with their sale rep. I knew I won't buy it (23 years old to buy a $60k suv?? no), and He knew it too. We talked about the price, the specs…for half an hour.

    • (23 years old to buy a $60k suv?? no)

23yr old international student is convincing

    • Legit me right now contemplating if I should go for it

  • -7

This isn't a deal, it's dishonest if you have no intention of buying.

    • +22

      Lol, ok moral police..

    • +1

True, but a large portion of the deals you see on Ozbargain are unethical

    • +3

yeah i have to the intention of buying a second hand model from 3 years ago 5 years into the future

    • +5

$100 discount on a purchase of this magnitude is a joke

    • +5

I feel sorry (for once) for the sales people who are having their day wasted by people who have zero interest in a purchase and wouldn't even be there if it weren't for the $100 offer.
Suzuki did one a couple years back and were smart about it saying they'd give you $100 if you test drove whatever car it was they had and then against others in the same category purchased a different car from elsewhere, obviously you need to prove it but it would eliminate so many people wasting peoples time.

    • -1

It's at the cost of Nissan which pushes absolute garbage SUVs

      • Compared to a Mahindra they are close to perfect. But it is a tough game, Ford sells theirs sometimes below cost, The Colorado is probably the only thing left selling for Holden. Volkswagen and even Mercedes jumped into the ute market. In the US Ram by Chrysler Fiat is selling like hot cakes so trying to resell a used Nissan is not going to be profitable investment.

All Ozbargainers waiting for that half price Cybertruck.

        • All Ozbargainers waiting for that half price Cybertruck.

Cyperpunk 2077 needs to code in a Cybertruck ;)

      • Garbage SUVs based on what?

        • -1

Based on me diving an Xtrail for 1000km! I tried to find pro's. Personal opinion but I hated it. Handling is poor around bends (high centre if gravity, soft suspension), and the steering gearing makes the steering wheel feel like an unresponsive toy.

  • +9

i'll use my free $100 to reserve a Cybertruck

    • Already reserved mine, can't wait for it to come out tbh.

      • i cannot decide between the dual($80k) or tri($110k) motor

        • The S model tri motor model will sell for $145k and the roadster is $300k+. The opportunity to own the plaid drive train with 200kwhr battery pack is attractive, however $110k is still a shitload of money.

  • +1

    I can't do it.
They look at what car you drove in with and quiz your reasoning. They expect you to do research of the Nevara range beforehand.
I think because it shows you booked with the incentive they get suspicious.
You'd have to be either very good at lying, or genuinely interested in purchasing the vehicle.

    • +13

"So sir, what interested you in the Nissan Navara?"

      "Ummm…3.5 tonnes of…raktanyrekapacity?"

      "Sorry, could you repeat that?"

"Aaah, three point ummmm, you know…"

"Sorry, I…[buyer shuffles away backwards]…where are you g..? [buyer sprints off] Darn it, not again! 12th time today!"

Most of all Nissan CEO facing criminal trial in Japan escaped hiding in a musical instrument box he had committed fraud whilst CEO at Nissan and being the fraudster he is hid in a box and escaped to Lebanon where justice is most transparent there.
Interpol has issued a red alert for his arrest worldwide but Lebanon being transparent and all will disregard Interpol.
Now was it $100 that Nissan want to give people was it fraudsters idea or to encourage fraud?

    • +3

i thought the musical box story was rubbish? they just released footage of him walking out of his home. apparently he still had his french passport

      • His home in Lebanon

        • +2

he has (had?) 3 passports, one being french. but i do believe i read hes in lebanon at the moment

          • +1

@belongsinforums: Yeh I read that Lebanon don’t have a treaty with Japan, hence the main reason he is there. Apparently he arrived in with a French passport and used a Lebanese ID card.

I hadn’t read that Interpol issued an arrest warrant, but I hope he slips up and ends up in a country where he is arrested and extradited.
