Depends on personal choice I guess

      • q60r is a better panel

        • better picture in the q60. But better navigation and remote in the sony plus if you watch alot of sport or game on it the sony also wins because of its motion tech and processing speed.

    • Yeah I was thinking that too. Q60R the better panel

it was $796 plus delivery 2 months ago

    • Link?

BTW it wasn’t me who negged your question :)

        • also was $876 at goodguys click collect during the ebay 20% off sale - really nice tv - literally just turned it on and made no adjustments - picture looks great right out of the box

  • +1

I wouldn't get under an 85 series, and frankly for the fraction more… The 95 series is great value when on sale.

    • +1

I’m very happy with my 80 series so far, I paid only $796 2 months ago. Picture is better than my 2015 85 series, and UI much more responsive. I’m not trying to compare apples with oranges, but this is a very good tv with a good picture quality.

      • I upgraded from 2015 8500s too. X95 was on sale for around $1300. That put's this price to shame

Comparing today's pricing, fraction ONLY for 65"

      55 INCH
      X85G: $1295
      X95G: $1695 (31% more)

      65 INCH
      X85G: $1895
      X95G: $1973 (4% more)

      75 INCH
      X85G: $2995
      X95G: $3795 (27% more)

      85 INCH
      X85G: $3485
      X95G: $5495 (57% more)

      • I'm going on repeated prices around $1300-1400 for 55.

For whatever reasons Sony has been incredibly cheap lately. Regularly around $3000ish for a 75 95g is amazing value.

Street prices are significantly better than advertised with Sony these last couple of months.

As someone that has X95 I highly recommend. I did away with the Shields as the TV actually felt snappier. I'd be very confident Android updates will continue longer with the better processor too…. It's what stopped Android support on 2015/16 models.

The X95 models are regularly compared to Q8 Samsung's which are much much more expensive. It often holds its own and in areas beats it, though I prefer Android and Sony's more 'natural' image over Samsung's saturated look…

        • I can only see a once off deal, well below trend… 55" X95 was $1300 for 6 days. A steal for that specific product, but almost niche due to being small. Even a 65" is 40% bigger.

          • @Ulysses31: 65 is definitely better value with the 95.

I highly recommend anyone pays extra for it, they are the exceptional TV's for the price.

People are regularly getting better prices on Sony products lately. Whirlpool thread is full of it. Don't read too much into advertised figures.

  • Retravision had this for $895 just last week. It was $200 off from Boxing Day. The 55x8500g was $1195

  • this may be a silly question but.. The title says Ebay+, does that mean free delivery?

    • +2

It says eBay plus because the coupon code can only be used with eBay plus but the delivery is still $40
