Well, I didn't get it on my David Jones Amex, anyway. Lol.

  • +2

    Got it again thanks OP!

    • +1

      Same here

    • +1

Just bought a Coles Myer GC and instantly got my amex confirmation

      • +1

Bought the second last one from Pitt St Sydney store. Was told they won't be be selling them anymore once they sell out. Haven't got my email confirmation yet.

        • Hope that is not correct.

          • +1

@Yola: Indeed. Would be a disaster for my Vogue Fashion Night Amex offer strategy.

            • @SydneySwan: I was not able to go to the Vogue Fashion Night to activate that offer and I was not targeted so I missed out. But there were some comments that those that missed out on Vogue got this offer in December(and maybe January). I would be interested to know if this is correct. The Vogue saving is 40% of the spend and on my 10 cards that would total $600. With this one the saving on spend is 20% but I can purchase $2000 worth and save $400 in total. With Vogue I used to buy Priceline GC but last year they were not available and many of the other options were luxury goods. So I think I prefer this deal to the Vogue one. In total I will save $800 so I will definitely be upset if we cannot buy these any longer.

      • Did you buy the coles myer GC online or at the shop?

        • +1

I got them at the shop. I do not think you can buy them online only the Myer GC.

  • +20

I got, spend $250 to get $25 back on my Platinum edge card.

    • Same here. I’m guessing it might be targeted then

    • Same I got, spend $250 get $25.
      Thanks op

    • I got the same on my Explorer card.

    • same here …

    • i got nothing on my platinum edge. what basis is this targeted on

    • Same here on my Essential Credit Card

    • Same here. It says limited to 10000 cards.

  • +2

Got it last time on primary and all supp cards (velocity), but nothing this time

    • +1

      Ditto

    • Got it on all cards last time and this time again. Happy!

  • +4

Got an all 3 cards last time - all 3 cards this time. Crazy good deal. Thanks op!

  • Targeted, got nothing.

  • I got it on my Velocity Platinum, don’t think I’ve ever used the card at Myer.

    • +3

You forget that the actual spend can be switched to Coles, etc.

      • Totally forgot about the Coles Myer gift card option. Thanks!

  • +1

This Myer offer was only recently ended - on the 31.12.2019 - same amounts. QFF Card here - and it's available - so saved…

  • got $20 off $250 on my Qantas ultimate…

    • $20 is an odd number (% wise); sure it wasn't $25?

  • -7

Not buying gift cards anymore unless I know I will spend them ASAP…. to many places dying then I’d lose the credit :(

  • +7

Got this again on platinum reserve and all supps. Converted last time to coles Myer GC which can be used for fuel, Officeworks, or groceries at 20% off.

    • Yup got this on reserve but none of the supps in my case.

  • +1

LPT: You can now use Coles Myer gift cards on the Myer website

    • +1

      Target Online takes it too.

  • So these Coles Myer gift cards… do you pick them up physically from Myer? Can't see them online~

    • +2

      Yes.

        Thx~

    • Yeah instore.. almost all the Myer counters (eg in the clothes area) have them.
I bought $200 (4x $50) on my Amex before Xmas (to get the last $40 cashback) and have used them for $50 off my Coles groceries each weekly shop.
Just ran out so this is perfect time to stock up again.

$80 (2x $40) worth of free groceries in a month.

  • Thanks OP.

  • Does anyone have the manual link?

  • +1

Sweet Christmas I got the offer again.

  • +1

Amazed…..Got the 40/200 again on 4x Plat Edge……didn’t get it on the Explorer which was 35/350 last time.

  • Nothing for me :( (Qantas Ultimate-3 Supps)

  • Explorer card is spend $250, get $25 back…. pass

    • +3

10% off Coles is still good.

  • Platinum reserve has to be the worst card or forgotten child of AMEX when it comes to cash back deals. I hardly see any good ones since I got the card a year ago.

    • Last Myer offer and this one, I only got on my various reserve cards. Both times nothing on my platinum charge cards. Their algorithms are not that simplistic.

    • +2

Got $200/$25 on my Platinum Reserve and all Supplementary cards.

I would say I get 95% of all Amex all Amex Offers. Perhaps it has to do with your spending behaviour, rather than card type?

    • I'm also on platinum reserve and also receive most offer. My recommendation is to at least spend 1 transactions on the card every month.

Not sure why, the only time I missed this kind of offers is when I had business trip and had to worked in china for few months (they don't take Amex there).

  • +3

Got it last time but not this time.

Last time I wasn't going to spend it, but they had a deal where if you buy Myer gift cards they give you a bonus 10% ($20) in gift cards. I bought Coles Myer gift cards but they still gave me the bonus $20 (Myer only though). So I effectively got $60 for free per AMEX card.

    • Can you please PM me details of this offer?

    • I wonder if we should wait for a similar offer before taking this up? Still have $300 unspent from the last $400 haul (2x AMEX cards). Spent the $40 in Myer bonus GC's however as they expire within 3 months.

      • A bird in the hand….You have 3 years to spend the normal GC.

      • Spent the $40 in Myer bonus GC's however as they expire within 3 months.

Are you sure about that? It didn't say on my card because they didn't write the expiry.

Can you use the Myer GCs to buy other GCs?

  • I got this deal, and used it on my explorer card last month… seems I’m lucky enough to get it on my card again!

  • +1

Thanks OP, got this, would have missed this if I didn't see this post. Got this last time and this time

  • -4

A little peeved that they decided to extend this offer. As the last one was expiring on 31 Dec 2019 I had to hurry to make my last purchase to make up to $200 spend to get the offer.🙄

    • +9

      it's new offer

      • +1

Can confirm, I redeemed the last one, and have received this one too

  • Thanks op, got it. I wonder if this includes Maui Jim. Does anyone know if they are truely Myer or sunglasses hut in Myer when you buy through Myer online? Worried about “ Excludes transactions made through a third party establishment or payment processor.”

    • +2

To be sure you could buy a Myer Gift Card first and pay with that.

    • +1

that clause basically means it has to be paid for directly via your AMEX card, not billed to your card via another payment processor such as PayPal or Afterpay.
The sunglasses are sold by Myer on behalf of sunglass hut, but you are still purchasing via Myer online and Myer handles the payment, it doesn't matter what you buy.

  • +1

Thanks OP, got the $200 spend for $40 credit again on the same 5 cards from last time. Time for another $1000 coles gift cards and I will cancel this account too.

    • Sorry to be new here, why you want to cancel the account?

      • Because after the AMEX reward devaluation it is not really worth it to hold the card long term for me. Rather just cancel and churn again like all other CCs. I was only holding onto my 2x accounts until after shop small, then cancelling. Already canned my other account, this one have just got a few offers recently so holding it till I use my Myer offer now.

  • Thanks OP! Got it on mine

  • +1

    Spend $250 get $25 here

  • Dang targeted on most cards last time, none this time

  • +1

Good deal. We got $25 for $250 on each of our qantas platinum cards and $40 for $200 on each of our gold ones.

Back to school shopping this morning at office works will blow through some of the last rounds gift cards along with previous shopping at Coles so a top up by the the end of the month will be timely.

  • +1

Got this offer both mine and wife’s AmEx essential last time, just checked AmEx app, got this offer again on both! Well done AmEx!

  • Does any of myer in Sydney still sell coles myer gc? I went to city store during christmas & all I can find is Myers gc.

    • All Myer stores sell Coles Myer gift cards. The city store must have sold out because everyone else beat you to the punch.

      • Try going to different counters they have them next to half the cashiers

    • +1

Myer City Level 5 The Myer Hub (Click & Collect area) sells them. Just bought 2 $200.

      • second that. only level 5 Myer hub still have some coles myer gift cards, not other levels.

  • Silly question but is there an activation fee for Flight Centre gift cards at Myer?

    • Do they sell flight Centre gift cards at Myer?

      • Yup!

        • Ok. Myer Bankstown only had Coles Myer and Myer that I could see. Picked up a Coles Myer one. Email took a couple of hours to come through.

          • @cnrmlj: Myer Melbourne Bourke Street has FC and some others that I can't recall

            • @madmo: Thanks. I will check in Sydney store next week when I am back at work and see what they have.

  • +6

Got the 40/200 again on 5 x Westpac and 5 x Discovery. Just like last time. Will buy Coles Myer GC again. Then I can use them to purchase the Coles Mastercards at the self checkout and pay bills at 25% off. Best offer of 2019 and happy to get it again. Thanks Amex.

    • +3

How does this work? Isn’t there a fee for MasterCard? How does 20% credit become 25% discount?

      • no fees .. just buy as if a simple coles group GC..

        • There is a $5 purchase fee for the Coles Gift Mastercard.

      • Couple of points here:
        - It actually works out to a 26% discount, 20% of $105 is $84, then another $10 in Flybuys points….thus $74 for $100 MasterCard
        - you need the flybuys offer of 2000 points to get this discount
        - you can only get the offer once per flybuys account……so Yola needs 20 flybuys accounts to maximise this….!?
        - better value getting a mix of ebay and/or Uber cards where the discount turns to 36% or the MasterCard if you don’t I suppose

        • Thanks I forgot about the $10 worth of points so 26% off, even better. I do not have 20 flybuys accounts but I have a few. However, the 2000 points offer does come up a few times per year.
