  • My sony tv died years waaaay before my Samsung I have trust issues now even though Sony TVS look so good :(

Just saying I've had the vice versa experience. It entirely depends on the individual model now, just saying.

    • Korean electronics are let down by poor caps. I think companies there have a purchase quota to buy from a government owned plant which makes these bad caps?

Sony's budget range can be poor too. If I were to buy something priced in Sony's budget range I'd go with Samsung.

Buy it from a retailer instead of sony if you can, I would even if it cost a touch more, better to deal with if problems.

    • That's a valid point, I did purchase this Sony tv a few weeks back and the tv was faulty (sound but no picture, just a black screen) anyways, JB Hi Fi just asked for a pic of the tv when it is switched on as proof and did an exchange the next day or day after. They did mention that Sony would normally send out a technician to have a look it at but that was going to be in 2 weeks time…. I really just wanted to stay away from the Sony tv after hearing that…. long story short stuck with the Sony and it's the best quality picture I have seen.

  • I got mine directly from Sony. Best service experience I have ever gotten from start to end.

  • Great tv, I just got the 75” version of this , great picture quality .

The only weird thing is the tv time ( and timezone are correct) , and it shows the correct time, but the TV guide shows the wrong time

  • Bought this TV on boxing day after our old Panasonic finally died on Christmas day. Picture quality is excellent, jb hifi guy said something about the entire screen backlit, instead of just around the edges with the samsung series 7 (that was half the price at the time).

  • hmmmmmmmmm…. have owned two Sony TVs before - both died long before their time. Had a 32 inch Bravia that lasted 18 months before fizzing.

Is this an Oled? Otherwise neg as this is not a bargain.

  • Whats the $900 difference between this model and the x80G?
