I don't know about favourite, haha.

    • +3

yep I feel like I need to say how this was the worst mattress I ever owned each time this is spammed to ozbargain.

consider how hard it is to get rid of these things once you buy it too

      • +5

Currently going through warranty claim for ours, terrible mattress didn’t even last a year before ridiculous sag, and we are sub 75kg

  • +11

15% off instead of 20% should see less price jacking.

Yeah, less price jacking for them, same price in the end for us…

  • +68

I've given up on eBay. Sorting by price is useless. You find a phone for $1 and it ends up being for the screen protector while the phone itself costs more than other sellers' prices.

    • -6

what phone exactly you were trying to find with $1???
(I agree with you though, very annoying practice)

    • +4

      This!

    • +17

They need to remove that listing shit or at least have an option to filter it out.

    • +24

This 100%. It makes the sorting function pointless. It's gotten to the point where I'd rather pay more if I can find the same item on Amazon - and at least I won't have to wait months sometimes for items to arrive (and sometime they don't even arrive at all).

And eBay Plus only deals are just annoying, I refuse to buy during those deals when a week later another deal gets you the same item at a similar cost without all the Plus BS.

I paid for a year of eBay Plus when it started because I wanted to get in on a TV deal, then basically forced myself to use it just so I don't waste it. When it ended I had no temptation to renew at all.

With Amazon Prime you actually feel lile you're getting value, with quick reliable shipping and returns and access to brilliant shows like Fleabag and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel.

      • +2

        I agree
I have items shipped the same day, and arrive the following day!

    • +4

Totally agree, it's the most annoying practice which turn me off those sellers for good. I usually ended up buying from another store that does not do it. E.g. I'd look for SD cards sorting from lowest price, but have to scroll through pages after pages of listings that have $1 adapters.

      • SD cards with a "get you in" price for an adapter is the classic example of this rort.
They know about it and do nothing. Just like they know about fake memory items being sold… they dont give a sh7t!

    • +1

      yep,

you click on each one and keep on adding the negative term in the search field till you find what you want.

should be an option to filter out price ranges.

      • There is an option to filter price range

        • +3

I mean filter out listings that have multiple prices. (those that normally have those low items)

          • +6

@thydzik: Yeah that would good. I just don't bother clicking into the listing when I see multiple price on it.
If they're not being upfront with the price then I'm not buying from them

          • @thydzik: I have never found a way to filter out listings that have multiple items.
            Eg SD cards, you'd get

32gb sd card $50 (normal ver)
32gb sd card $2 (bob ver out of stock)

Then in the search it'd show 32gb sd $2-50.

    • +3

      Yup eBay is dead

    • +2

Ebay will never get its shit together until it has a serious competitor. And it'll never have a serious competitor because it just buys up all competition before it can become a threat. It's absolutely (profanity).

      • OZ-e-bargayn ?

    • +2

100% agree. I spoke to ebay about this about 10 years ago (give or take a year) and they pretty much just pushed it aside.

    • I change the min price to $10 and it clears it out. Or sort by most expensive and work backwards. I also report the dodgy listings.

  • I came here for the jacking comments

    • Are you sufficiently jacked off?

  • Let's hope that Jack forgets to set his alarm for tomorrow morning!

  • Hope for a bing lee one soon

  • +1

Jack and jill..went up the hill..

    • +1

    • They came back down with a new baby…

      • … And called it Jack jr?

        • +4

The way people catch on to things it’s most likely Jackie McJack-Face.

  • +1

Ugh, why do they list the store names instead of the usernames, makes it really hard to make a search.

    • +9

      I made a thing.

      • +1

This is awesome, thank you :)

      • I used the thing. It loaded an eBay advanced search page with the sellers preloaded into the field for "search items from these sellers"… but when I went to hit search I got an eBay service is unavaiable error. Tried a few times.
So instead I went to the field and copied the contents, then went to ebay home, went to advanced search and pasted it in there… and then it works! Yay…

        • Doing it for me with both your method and his tool :(
Got one working search and thats it

          • @IDidntSleep: Under advanced search, go down to "Sellers, only show items from", tick the box and paste this into the field:

            • +1

@pronoun: I too made a thing lol, but without a frontend. It also scrapes the T&C page for links, gets the userIds and generates search strings.

I've found that anything more than 70-80 userIds in a single search string causes the 'Service Unavailable' error, hence the need for multiple search queries. Good luck.

  • Want to upgrade my 7+ … I hope there are some deals. Good deals.

  • Quickly jumps into see the seller list doesn’t include the seller I made the purchase from 5 minutes ago.

    any search link ?

  • +6

    Give these a go:

    Search Link 1
    Search Link 2

    • 1st search link now keeps saying "Service unavailable"

      • +1

Hmm.. working OK for me. Anyone else having issue with the first link?

  • Is there any bed sold in Australia that has close quality to the bed that Hilton hotel use?

    • +1

Just take one as a souvenir.
Hotels expect you to take a few things. It's a souvenir!

    • Further to that.

Can you still buy a double sided bed anywhere for a decent price?

You get twice the life if you can flip it every six months.

  • Looking for a 1440p capable gpu (currently got a rx580). Anyone seen anything good in this listing?

  • +1

lol Marvel_Outlet is part of the deal but has 0 items for sale.

    Good work eBay!

    https://www.ebay.com.au/str/marveloutlet

The note on their store page says:

On holiday and will be back soon!

    haha!

    • Got hit hard by corona.

    • Also another store, mediaform store does not list any printers any more, just toner.

I'm certain they used to sell printers (and their standard shop web site still does), although I haven't checked their eBay store since before Christmas, so it is possible they may have stopped selling printers on eBay before this sale, but it does make their inclusion much less useful.
