    • you realise this was previously pulled cause it wasn't live yet.. And it still isn't live..
      I'm strongly considering it though..

    • "cdeep0 4 min ago: Think" yes

  • +1

I just posted this deal and admin removed saying "deal is not active" even though it was :(

    • Not live for me!

EDIT:seems to be live in Sydney and Brisbane, but not Adelaide, Perth or Melb yet

    • You jumped the gun and posted before it was active. I checked just after you posted and the deal wasn't active. It only had 3 out of the required 5 buyers.

      • Not sure with other states but definetly SYD was active. In addition to this, I was unable to post the SYD link because in the past people have used it…So I had to remove SYD of the link.

        • +1

Perhaps best to specify next time that the deal is active in SYD and for other states a minimum number of purchasers are required to activate..
To be honest, I think for such a deal the chances of it going ahead were very high (only required 5 or 6 purchases to activate) and the Mod was probably a bit overeager in deleting your post.

  • +2

    Buying discounts, what's next?

    • Same concept as the Bunnings deal a few days ago, what's the problem?

  • +3

Not available with any other offer (such as Frugal Friday offers and LivePrice offers)

    deal breaker

  • Looks like the deal is on now.

    • Nope, i just clicked and it says

3 more needed to get the deal

      • Ok looks like it's live for Sydney and possibly not for other cities yet.

  • +2

    here's the killer

"Voucher must be redeemed in the one purchase (irrespective of whether the item purchased has a value of less than $200)"

So it's not "$200 of value" it's up to $200.

  • +2

Also does not apply to delivery costs…

  • I'm seriously considering - to get a 22" led w PVR for $130 all up.

  • So not eligible for the Kogan tablet rite?

  • I'm thinking to buy it for the Tablet.
It means $99 + Delivery for it..

  • +2

good deal until they tell you on special or live price cant use coupon in true kogan style
    Buyer beware

    • +1

      they already tell you..
      It's in the T&C

  • hm.. what bout the coffee machine that uses nespresso..

$100 for a nespresso machine is quite good, and I already have a pixie at home

shipping is killer tho.. $25 :|

  • So, if you add 2 15" digital photo frames in a single transaction taking the total to $280 + Shipping, can you use this voucher?

  • can you buy multiple products to make up the 200 in the one order? ie something for $150 & something for $50

    • Yes

  • "Only 1 voucher can be redeemed per transaction"

annoying also. getting a cheap item and paying delivery and those that were going to buy from them anyway are the 2 best scenarios.

    "Voucher valid for 3 months from 2/9/11 - 2/12/11"

Can't wait for post Xmas sale

    • They have already specify it's not valid for Sale and Live Prices. etc.. :D

The delivery fees not included killed it for me.

  • Any know the Kogan Full HD TV quality?

    • +3

I have their 42" Full HD LED TV

Quality is ok, I'm pretty happy seeing that I got it a while back for $700 (on ebay + $100 p&h), but I wouldn't pay the full price (at the time it was close to 1k + p&h )

      Pros:
      - Picture quality is good - if signal in is good
so basically tv (even SD, if digital), blu ray, mkvs etc. look good
but other stuff (old SD divx files) look crap
I think it has something to do with the lower quality processing chip

      Issues:
      - PVR stutters allot
      - on my unit the sound sometimes crackles (not even at high volumes) - not sure what is causing it as it happens only on certain broadcasts
      - Had problems with the digital audio out
      - The paint seems to have melted at the top panel (this is new, need to look into it)

Anyway I got the 5 year warranty because I was aware it has quality assurance issues (it will last 1-2 years, but not sure what would happen to it afterwards)

Looking back I wouldn't purchase it as the main TV (was good for the price but next time I will spend more to get better quality), but good for bedroom etc.

      • Thank you! Yes I am also thinking I should spend $200 more for a Samsung, which I have and noone seems to have any issue.
May wait for any pre-xmas sale…

  • +1

Just confirmed using live chat on their website, that you can add multiple items to a single transaction and then apply the coupon as long as it is in a single transaction. Considering that, it is a good deal.

  • it's live for Adelaide now

  • If you buy something for over $200 can you use the voucher and pay for the extra? I mean, you are not sneakily limited to $200 and under items, are you?

    Don't mind me- I'm paranoid.

    • I don't think they are THAT sneaky! They say:

"or use your $200 credit towards a big-ticket purchase like a brand new 3D TV"

  • Did one of the reviews said that he paid $149 for the tablet? And now the same tablet is going for $199 + delivery?

    • Liveprice maybe?

  • This is great, I'm going to grab their $169 eReader!

  • No bluetooth in their $99 tablet :-(

  • +2

Is it better to go with this 99$ Kogan Tablet or
spend more for "10 inch Google Android 2.2 Froyo Flytouch 3 16g Tablet GPS FLASH 3D" which is around 240$?
    http://www.mwgames.com.au/pro_detail/10-inch-Google-Android-…

    • Probably neither

If you want a cheapo tablet around $100, the MyTab seems to be a better option with more stable software (Kogan appears to have a few with self-starting and touch screen issues) and better quality controlled hardware. Read here:
      http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1679231&p…

And the MyTab has a much better CM7 rom which you can run on it, so another big plus there.

If you want a 10" tablet, might as well get the ASUS Transformer which was going for about $350 last week, has a dual core CPU runs Honeycomb nicely.

Alternatively you can grab a HP Touchpad for around $250 if you don't have to have Android, the hardware is nice and the IPS screen is a lot better than the FlyTouch.

Or… wait for the "last batch" of the cheap HP Touchpads lol

On face value this seems like a good deal, but I am going to have to neg it, even though I appreciate the OP's efforts to bring this to our attention. The reason simply is

"With Kogan, value is SUBJECT TO CHANGE."

If you buy your vouchers I suggest you quickly use them. Look at what happened with the last Kogan paypal deal.

    • +1

Lame reason to neg.. especially given you didn't BUY the $30 Paypal voucher.
It was clearly a stuffup on their part and unlike some (Dell, I'm looking at you) they paid out on the deals that slipped through!

    • Maybe they'll INCREASE voucher's value!!!

  • Need some advice please
I wanna buy a small TV for the end of my bed, something to plug my external hard drive into.
It wont have a television connection. Whats my best value for not going over the $200 mark?
    Ta

    • I've bitten the bullet now - intending on using this spreets deal to get a 22" led w PVR

They cost $209 + $21 delivery to VIC 3000 = $130 all up with the deal

      • Would I be able to plug my hd into this no prob?

        • They tend not to like Hard Drives (too much power required to spin them up?)
but you can transfer files to USB stick and they should play OK.

      • why not go the 24" for $30 extra?

  • I'm going to get the 22" LED w/ PVR. $209.00 and $25 delivery to perth… not too bad is it? I need a television for my room and I'm not all techy with TV's- but is this good value?

    • you won't find much cheaper, no matter what the "brand"…

  • I also bit the bullet, I think it's quite a good deal.
I've got my eye on the 24" LED LCD as a PC monitor/TV.

Currently using a 19" LG TV for the dual purpose, but was looking to upgrade to a 24" monitor, but for $168.00, I can kill two birds with one stone.

  • Would it be possible to use this to buy kogan gift vouchers?

    For example,
spend $99 to get the $200 off discount
-> Add 2x $100 Kogan GIFT VOUCHERS to basket at Kogan shop

    = $200 + $0 shipping
    MINUS $200 discount

    = $0 for $200 more useful vouchers w/ $99 spent

  • +1

Would the 22" or the 24" led tv be good as a monitor for doing design work on Adobe PS and Illustrator?

I know ppl talk about 16:9 vs 16:10 etc

Any drawbacks compared to all the 24" proper PC monitor deals we have had from $140-$160?

  • +1

The offer is back on again - well, at least in Sydney. It's up for the next two days.

    http://spreets.com.au/deal/Sydney/online/8362/get-hightech-o…

    • Since Kogan is a nation wide company, this should work does not matter where you are.

Bought 2 for work yesterday. Going to get some HDMI cables and the PVR. Anyone have experience with these items?

  • any1 got any idea how to redeem the voucher online - sprrets deal says enter voucher number and unique code, but kogan checkout for entering discounts is only 1 field and has a limited number of characters you can enter.

  • hi aml276,
I asked the sales, they say you just need to input the unique code after 1 day you received the voucher.

  • I have grabbed one of these too. I have had my eye on a 'standard' internet radio at around $150+. With this voucher I can get the 'deluxe' model usually around $210 delivered to my place for under $120 delivered. However I have to wait until after September 16th when the Live Price promotion ends to place my order.

  • Is it just me or is there a bug with their shipping calculator for the $8 HDMI cable? It's charging $5.70 shipping per cable.

    https://www.kogan.com.au/shop/hdmi-cable-v14-3-metres-gold-p…

    • Yep, I get $5.70 per cable for shipping to Sydney.

$5.70 seems reasonable for posting a single cable, so I assume your concern is that there's no price reduction in delivery per cable for bundling multiple cables. If that's the case, I don't think that's a bug - just a bad pricing model. Maybe ring and ask if there's something they can be done about that.

      • I tried to chat with the Sales support and they said the shipping for those cables should be free if I buy it with a bigger item. That makes sense but it's not what happen. I still get charge $5.70 per cable. The chat connection might have drop out after that as I have not heard back from them. I wonder how long it will takes them to fix the problem.

        [Edit:]
I tried the Sales support chat again and they acknowledge that someone is looking into it. They advised for now, I can place the order through [email protected].

        [Edit 2:]
Reply email said "Spreets voucher can only be use via the website". It's a good thing the voucher is valid for another 3 months. Otherwise, we would have one more reason to Neg Kogan.

  • Has anyone used their voucher yet? It doesn't seem work for me. I have tried to put the voucher number, unique code or even the pin in the Discount Code field before goes to payment, but none of them work. Help please, anyone?

    • In addition to the reply from "kunalparikh" below, your voucher code won't work for products that are on sale. If you enter your code for sale items, the system just silently ignore it.

      • Yes, you are right surethang! I found that is why it did not work for me at first, as i choose something on sale or live price. Tricky. So the voucher works out not that a big savings.

        • now there is a surprise

  • I ordered 2 15" Digital Photo frames using the voucher and it worked fine. You just need to put the unique voucher code in the voucher field on the checkout screen. Please note that you need to use the voucher code starting with the work "spreets…" and not the numeric code. The one that you need to use is quite a long code and will fit in the voucher code field on the checkout screen, in spite of the fact that the actual field seems like it is pretty small. Also, you need to wait at least 24 hours before you can you the voucher once you have downloaded it.

    • Thanks for your help kunalparikh. I finally figured out the voucher does work, but it has a limitation and not applicable to a few products with good prices. So it only works on full prices products or something like that. I need to think what should i buy…
