Samsung Galaxy S10e $599 for Existing Samsung Owners @ Samsung Stores

2420

Thanks/credit to l005e for commenting on their experience on the previous S10e deal. Seems cheaper than the student deal online.

I went into the Samsung pop up store in Penrith. Standard S10e price is $799, AND I ASKED them to check. (Caps lock because at first they said no way!) Their store manager checked and yes, so long as I was willing to sit down for a 10 minute diagnostic on my S8. Result is an S10e for $599. No exchange required so I'll be selling my S8 shortly! Go for it!

2 year warranty, but single SIM Exynos as it's official Samsung stock.

    • Store is in Westfield Carousel. Just outside myer.

  • I just got mine and it was a grey import, so they didn't care too much. they offered me an extra 15 if I gave it to them.

    Pretty good deal.

    • Which store were you at? And what did you have to ask for?

  • Off topic question - any of these Samsung stores have S20 models on display?

    • +1

      All of them!

      • +2

My local is northland in melbourne.

Now dont get me wrong I didn't tell them it was a grey import….

I got an s5, it was fine by them. I dont know why they would care they are not keeping the phone.

      • Thank You

  • cxan someone tell me if this can be done with samsung tablets? or is this just with mobiles?

  • Can someone say OW will price match this

  • +1

Just went in to the Chatswood Sydney store and asked the staff regarding expiry date of the promo, he said there isn't an end date that he has been told, but it'll be for while stocks last, he also mentioned they've got a set amount of stock (as in to suggest the stock is limited to current inventory).

It looks like pretty much Samsung is clearing out their S10 series inventory for S20s.

  • Just got the second last S10e in Carousel WA. One left in white. The promo deal extends to the S10 fleet.

    • +1

Got the last one at carousel, but they can ship some in from Joondalup for pickup today or tomorrow.

      • Can you get more than one with one s7 phone?

      • That's good to know. Ive just been to Carousel looked at all the phones and think Ive decided on thr 10e.

Good they can get stock from Joondalup. Now can I be bothered going back there!

        Yes…. probably.

        • Can you ask them how many are left in joondalup? Thinking of going as well…

  • Thanks got one at robina gold coast. 1 left in green

  • Got a black one from chadstone. I had an A20 I bought in Thailand and they didn't seem to mind

  • Just got one from Liverpool. Used an A20

  • +1

Mixture of green and white colours left in Samsung store Chermside QLD. Approx. 4 left in stock.

They were happy to honour the offer provided that customers are coming in with a problem with their old Samsung phone. They then offer $200 off a new device in lieu of repair process. (Ozbargainers, take note of this script to unlock offer)

  • What are the chances they'd let a rooted phone be used for this? I have a Galaxy S8 that's past it's warranty now, so I rooted it. I could restore it to stock, but if they're checking diagnostic data, I wonder if they'd also check that knox was tripped.

    • Depends on the store. In my case, they remarked that my phone was international. No issue with discount however. I’m sure this depends on the representative you deal with.

      • Thanks. My phone is an AU model so I guess I can try and see what happens. I don't see why rooting it would stop me getting the deal, but who knows.

Can I ask what they asked you about and what they checked on the phone? In case it might be wiser to temporarily unroot my phone for this.

        • They just plug in and do some diagnostics. I don’t think they try to catch you out, think it’s moreso to validate the reason for the discount in their back-end.

I think the main thing is to say the correct words so they know what you’re after. Eg. I have an old Samsung, performance isn’t great, keeps locking up etc, they’ll then be able to give you the $200 off offer.

Also, recommend you start by asking if they have the S10e in stock, because if they don’t, you’ve just wasted your time.

    • They did'nt even checked it worked….

All they did is take the battery out of mine and copied the serial number.

  • Westfield Carousel had 2 white ones left at about 12.40 today.
office works cannington would not entertain price match

  • Thanks OP! Bought one at Westfield Tea Tree Plaza (Modbury) in SA. They now have one S10e remaining in White. Black and Green have sold out.

The sales person told me about this $599 S10e promo straight up, I didn't have to ask for it. The staff just needed to sight an existing Samsung phone and record its IMEI in their system in order to apply the $200 discount.

    • got one in Sydney CBD. Same as above - staff offered discount before asking and then recorded IMEI to get code to apply discount

      • Wish Carousel did it, would have bought one on the spot!

      • Sydney cbd rejected my claim saying the 799 price is already 200 dollars off

  • Where is store in melbourne cbd?

    • Melbourne central level 2 can enter via the entrance that goes upstairs on swanston st.

    i would get pixel 4 xl 128 for 700 instead of s10e

pixel 4 xlbis better than s10e in every single way.

    • Unless you want a small phone maybe?

    • -1

I thought the pixel 4 XL was about 1100? And a bit bigger as well? That's come down in price quickly! Where is it $700?
I prefer the smaller form factor and sd card slot (picked up a 512gb samsung microsd for $94 in the xmas sales) of the s10e, but eachto their own!

      • -1

jb, hn and google store, optus, telstra are still selling for 1428 for 128g, but vodafone was selling it half handset price with monthly plan, which u can cancel it any time, just need to pay out the phone, which is $714.

they also sell it outright for $714, but sold out on voda website now.

the only downside is it is slightly bigger than s10e, but otherwise screen, cpu, ram, OS, camera are much better than S10e

        • That's not a bad deal. Keep in mind it's over $100 more, which is a sizable increase, and also lacks some critical things for me (this is subjective).

No sd card slot is a deal breaker
          No headphone jack is bad

          • +1

@Michael15286: I think everyone's deal breakers are different, and that's ok. Mine are size battery life sd card. Others like best available camera or fastest vanilla android update.

Impressed if the voda method gets the pixel 4 xl for 714, but that is also more, although cheaper than standard s10 which would be a closer match size wise wouldn't it?

S10e is as close to a compact phone as I can find nowadays!

  • -1

When you say they give you $200 for your phone is this working phones? As mine turns on but thats about it. And do they keep your phone as im sure others said they are not interested in the old phone. And is this a weekend thing this pop up shop?

    • Phone probably needs to be able to run through their diagnostics. No they don’t keep the phone. (Not a trade in)

      • It turns on andriod guy on phone comes up do not turn off thats as far as you get, dont see why they would need phone turned on what are they after? And if they dont need the phone no reason to have it on or off.
Is this pop up places a weekend thing or all week.

        • They attempt to connect the phone to the system (and if it works, it will read out some key info - mainly IMEI and serial number). However, if that doesn't work, the staff will need to manually enter the numbers or scan barcodes appearing on screen (there is a special code to enter so the phone displays a barcode). The staff don't care about the phone, they just need to enter sufficient details to keep the system happy to give you the $200 discount.

Those pop up stores - basically Samsung stores / stands in shopping centres are essentially Samsung retail stores. They are opened every day.

    • It might vary depending on which store you visit.

While I was at the Tea Tree Plaza (Modbury SA) store, somebody else ahead of the queue successfully claimed the $200 discount even though their phone had a defective (black) screen. I think the salesperson copied the IMEI details from a sticker printed on the back of the device (it was an older looking model with a removable battery).

      • Mine is removable battery after s5 that changed.

  • Does it anyone know how long does this promotion run for?

  • Parra was out of stock but let us order one which will be ready for pickup within a week they expect. The guy went into the settings of my old phone, took a pic of the screen and that was it. Thanks OP!

    • @downhillar have you picked it up yet?

      • Nope, I haven't been contacted yet. They said it could take a week.

        • Parra had green and black in stock when I went to buy one yesterday.

  • Is there any way to tell whether you will get 6gb or 8gb ram? For S10e.

    • +1

      6GB RAM, 128GB (storage) model.

  • Managed to buy one at Melbourne Central's store, but they're running low on stock. They didn't check that my phone was rooted, just went to the Settings > About phone section and copied some details from that as well as getting my details down.

  • Was able to do this trivially at Chadstone. Showed them an S8, they asked for it to be unlocked, and then they jotted down the IMEI and gave me the discount.
When asked, the guy behind the counter told me the promotion is likely to run through March.

  • +1

Macquarie and parra sold out :( but both said they had some more stock coming soon..

    • +1

bummer. thanks for saving me a trip.

  • Does anyone know when this promo expires?

I just called the Samsung main number and they were as useful as the magic CoronaVirus cure from a witch doctor.

    • +2

Store staff don't seem to know either. It's just Samsung attempting to clear out their remaining stock of S10e, S10 phones. Some stores have limited S10e in stock and those still have them might have limited colour options.

It's unclear what other retailers intend to do with their S10e, S10 and S10+ stock. They should try to clear them soon. S20 are coming.

      • I guess it is pot luck.

I don't want to walk into Samsung store only to find out the offer is gone.
Happy to get it on order if they offer it.

  • The Sydney CBD store in town hall had about 5 left in stock. 4 white, 1 green.

  • +1

    Hi,

I rang 1300 425 299 this morning and it's pointless, it's a call centre and operator said there were no S10e discounts available, still listed at $1,199.

Finished up going to Samsung Marion in S.A. and girl was fantastic, said the $799 less $200 discount = $599 was available but mentioned no stocks, would be Wednesday before they'd receive.

She rang her manager and was advised stocks may be arriving this morning, she said give me 30 minutes, I asked if I could purchase two S10e's.

Went back after 30 minutes and my 2x Samsung S10e's were there, black as well as I'd asked.

She said she had another 7x S10e's available in black and green and could probably order more if still available.

So don't ring 1300 425 299, you'll have to visit your local Samsung popup store.

BTW, I took in my old Galaxy S2, she only recorded the IMEI #, didn't perform any diagnostics, I took my S5 in as well in case she needed to record an IMEI # for that as well, she didn't.

    Chatswood sold out

    • +1

that was me sorry got the last one this morning

      • My local shop was happy for me to pay first, and then I can pick it up when it arrives; presumably within a week

  • I dont live near a samsung store, any chance of getting office works or jb to match this?

  • Grabbed one at Southland Melbourne this morning. Easy as pie.

    Awesome post/deal, much appreciated!

  • Went to Sydney CBD Store roughly 3pm, out of stock already but said they would have more stock (only in black 128gb) in a couple of days and let me preorder. Staff told me about the deal too, and only looked at the back of my S9.

  • +1

Went to the Werribee store today and they had the 10e, not on special, no longer had a loyalty offer. Damn.

    • Thats bad. thats my closest store

    • +1

How does that work? These aren't independent or even franchise stores so would assume they need to follow head office.

    • Damn! Thanks for saving me a trip. Might have to try the city

  • +2

Got 2 today at Joondalup, WA. They asked me, if I was an ozbargainer :D told me they sold way more phones than usually…

Anyone know if the screen protector on the phone is good or needs replacing?

    BTW they still had stock.

    • The factory screen protector is the best I have ever used!! If you don't need drop protection on the screen i.e. tempered glass, then this would be the closest to having no protector on screen but still having awesome clarity and some decent scratch protection.

      • That's plastic film not a screen protector, why are people still getting this wrong in 2020.

        https://youtu.be/EJF_ktdrXSY go to 6:10

        • +1

Whatever you would like to call it, it hasn't come off in my use of 3-4 months, it doesn't affect the use of the phone visually neither does it affect the touch sensitivity so it serves the purpose of a screen protector for me.

          • @alterego13: I gotta try that sometime I usually rip mine straight off

            • @Top G: I think the protector is fairly soft as I scratched it the first day, but you can't see it when the phone is on. Put your keys in the other pocket (obviously)

  • Anyone been to Miranda Sydney? Might have to drive there since my closer 2 are OOS.

  • +2

I confirmed stock at miranda yesterday via online chat, but 2hr drive later they had sold out.

You would think that a shop that sells phones would have a phone number….

I mean I called Bunnings and they can get a forklift and put a 200kg fireplace aside for me to come pick up. But Samsung are too busy to answer a phone and put a post it note on a box under the counter.

    • Online chat and generic phone number seem useless.

      Thanks for the post.

    • +1

Online chat can check stock levels, but its only updated daily.
Also after leaving my phone number at the Miranda store, they got more stock yesterday and called me and put one aside.

      • just contacted online chat and they said they can't check stock.

  • I was told by the one at Melbourne Central that the discount applied for all S10 series (e,10,10plus)

    • did u go today? might head there tomorrow

    • So the s10 for $600? Would like to know this too.

      • no, it would be $200 off their normal price.

        • Yes, I went there Tuesday afternoon. He did check many times (his supervisor?) and convinced me several times that discount was for all S10 models

          • @MINKx: Yeah can confirm it's 1199-200 = 999 for the s10 model

  • where can i get the s10e dual sim version from thats not a grey import? Thought mobileciti/allphones would have the dual but they both have single

    • The minimum Australian version with dual sim in the s10 range is the s10 512gb version.

      • thanks ofr this mate. where can i get that from?

        • Like everywhere

  • -2

got one at weribee. One green left. I just mentioned ozbargain s10e super deal.

    • Wow, when I went there Monday they said they didn't have any deals on the phone. Maybe just who you get and how you ask I guess. Good luck to you.
(PS, I got one from Melb Central, otherwise I'd be a little angry).

  • Grabbed the last s10e at Northland. They said they will get more in but no idea on quantity or colours.

  • has anyone tried to use this deal for the 512gb dual sim version?

  • I tried to get this deal at the Sydney CBD Samsung store and was told they would not honour it.

The reason given was that the S10e is already on special, so they will not give two separate special prices on the same handset.

I tried to argue, saying other people had claimed the deal but the clerk was pretty firm. Bad luck for me I guess.

    • I drove half way to Macq then turned back. Didn't want to waste my time getting rejected/no stock … and I'm really tight. I still have a functioning phone :(

  • I got one from Maquarie Centre. Only green ones left though. Shop attendant was very helpful, was noted down as a loyalty offer i think. Asked me to open settings and went to about phone.
As others have said, he said was applicable to entire range.
To get the discount he entered a code on his system, and told me he was entering a code for that reason.

  • +1

As another option - Optus is currently offering this phone for $21/month (totals $504 over 24 months). This can be paired with a few of their plans e.g. $50 / month plan. You might be able to get student discount also.
