I know I shouldn't do it in the first place, but what is recommended for storing ground coffee?

    • Not OP, but the issue with ground coffee is obviously the speed of oxidation. The more you can reduce oxygen exposure the better, so something like this might be suitable. I can't tell you for certain if it would make a noticeable difference. I know a lot of people freeze ground coffee, but again I can't speak to whether this actually works or not.

If you want a recommendation… invest the $60 into a grinder and start grinding fresh. Moving to a freshly roasted and ground bean was the single best thing I ever did for my coffee brewing in terms of average cup quality and taste.

      Just my 2c.

edit: apparently these are unsuitable for ground coffee. Sorry for the mislead. A vacuum sealed container of some sort would still be best.

    In the description, it says:

Airtight Container Storage – Whether ground or whole beans, feel assured the freshness and quality of your coffee will last for much longer.

Further down in a disclaimer, it says:

Do not store ground substances, like ground coffee or flour in the Atmos. This may clog the vacuum lid and prevent a proper vacuum seal.

So what's the story? Is ground coffee ok in this thing?

Can I store ground coffee in Atmos?
Nope! Powdery or ground substances do not play well with the seals and can clog the intake valve. Since we always advocate for coffee to be ground right before brewing, Atmos was never designed for the intention of storing ground coffee. In addition to ground coffee, please avoid putting any powdery substances inside Atmos such as spices (like turmeric), flours, and matcha tea.

      • Thanks, I assumed as much. I was hoping to get the smaller size for transporting extra ground coffee with a nanopresso. There goes that idea!

What are peoples opinion on this vs Airscape?

    • I'm also curious about this

    • +1

Airscape is faster to vacuum seal. you push downwards and a one-way valve allows air inside to go out.

With the Atmos, you twist it clockwise & counter-clockwise multiple times to achieve the same effect.

Both are kind of cool, I like the look and finish of the Atmos.

Really hard to say which performs better though.

  • Good deal but the alternative to still get free delivery is to subscribe to one of their coffee beans and get 25% off that and then cancel.
