Not a good deal. I just applied for BankSA amplify platinum Qantas 60k bonus point in $49 first year annual fee.

    • You are comparing chalk and cheese - Amplify card only earns 0.5 points/dollar spend and has no travel insurance

Most ppl would have an extra card. I have AMEX which pays for better dollar spend. I only applied for BankSA / St George card because of the bonus point not the points for daily spend. Once I get the bonus point I’ll jump onto other deals.

exactly - the purpose of applying for these cards is primarily the bonus points and not so much the ongoing points, most of us would have a main card you would use. Not sure who negged you - have a +

        • I have wondered whether the extra card is a good strategy. If you're constantly flipping cards then do you really need the extra card? I have the Westpac Black, which is 0.75/dollar, and I have already received my bonus points. I have now applied for St George card for the bonus points, and I am deciding whether I should keep the Westpac or get rid of it. Alternatively, I could get rid of the Westpac and then apply for this NAB card in a few months.

Yeah was looking at the St George platinum. Their signature or whatever it was got blown out of the water, 80k QFF for $6k spend is outrageous!

So now have to look at the lower offers, ie 60k QFF for $2k spend

    • It is a good deal if you have churned every other card and are waiting out 12/18 month exclusion periods.

    • How are you getting $49 annual fee? I'm seeing $99 on their website.

    • Is this the same as the St George CC?

  • That first year fee not worth it.

    • -1

worth it if you already have nab choice package homeloan and you get this card for free

      • Uhmm… Not if you already have another nab card which you should - if you got the mortgage originally.

        • yes you can - just ask the bank for a card change

  • If you look at this card on the qantaspoints.com website, it actually shows the bonus as 130k points not 100k.

Edit: you need to keep the card open an additional 12 months for the extra 30k points which totally isn't worth it

  • First year free offers drying up

    • Incorrect tense.

      'Dried'

  • What are the best cards ATM? I need 2 between a Europe holiday, and buying another property.

  • wtf, applied on 28/2, conditionally approved. Will need to give them a call to check if I can get the extra 10k worth of points :(

    • I tried applying on the weekend and the system froze out, guess they were updating to this new offer :D

  • Does your credit rating drop if you apply and and cancel after first year . Then repeat at a different bank the following year.

    • Lots of variables. Mine keeps increasing despite churning 3-4 cards a year and refinancing 2 home loans

  • anyone able to apply recently, getting errors when logging in

    • I keep on getting this error "The system is currently unavailable. Please try again later. Alternatively, please feel free to contact NAB directly at 13 22 65."

Anyone able to successfully apply online?

      • I had an issue where my password was too complex, I had to dumb it down and then I could get through.

  • anyone know if you still get the bonus points if you have a savings account with NAB?

    • Absolutely you get them, it's only if you have a NAB credit card this is an issue.

The good news is, the points come very quickly. I had mine by the next statement after reaching $3k…I cancelled the same day as receiving the 100k points, and got back the 10.5 months worth of fees! So $30 for 100k bonus points, and points earned on things like council and water rates. Absolute steal.

    • wow first time I've heard of somebody doing this. Did it seem like luck with the person you spoke to?

      • No…I cancelled online. Not sure why I'm being negged for simply having good luck.

        • Yeah not sure why you were negged either. So just to confirm you cancelled online through the normal online banking channel, didn't speak to anybody, and got the fee pro rata refunded? Or did you speak to somebody to get the fee refunded before you cancelled?
