it burns it burns - get it off me, get it off me!!!!

just some of the things i would be saying if i was forced to wear one.

    • +7

I have one from the Robina store I only wore it once I kept getting the nod from local satchel carrying hipsters, now I only wear it cleaning the toilet

were they riding fixie bikes ?

        • +1

          Were they playing synth?

        • +1

          we all play synth!

  • +2

    No comment :D

If I got one I'd burn it. LOL

  • make sure to camp out front overnight to ensure you get one..

  • Is it one size fits all?

    • +15

Yes… Multiple sizes only serve to confuse the consumer, and this shirt has been designed to provide the best user experience.

& if it doesnt fit, you are not wearing it the right way! 8-))

Why would providing free advertising for Apple be a bargain for me?

Damnit, Jim. I'm a Panda not a billboard!

  • +2

Steve Job's old turtleneck shirts cos he quit!

  • not worth, all same size- big once

  • Okay people are lining up outside a store for a t shirt they wear cleaning toilets, oh man what have we become Ozbargain lol

  • +2

People should get paid to advertise companies.
    Therefore this is over priced.

I was actually wondering if that reason would be worth a neg rather than a no-vote. It feels a little harsh but not enough to make me go into the no-vote category.

    • +2

That's a little unfair - Pretty much all freebies have a certain aspect of marketing / advertising about them. That's the usual trade off for a free item. If they were charging for it, it would be a very different story…

Besides, if it was a free Nike / Calvin Klein / Other branded shirt, would you say the same thing? Apple is as much as a "popular brand" as any other (as much as it pains me to say it).

wearing a nike/CK shirt does not cost you your dignity

        • On the other hand some people will pay good money to completely bury their dignity - See men and skinny leg jeans / man bags…

I am just saying, not liking something is not a good reason to neg it!

I am just saying, not liking something is not a good reason to neg it!

Not really a question of like/dislike. More of a question of whether or not the price paid is worth the cost involved. The cost here being that you're reduced to billboard status.

I really like the sounds of this alternative bizzaro world where people see a "Cost" (rather than "Value") in branding… Where people walk around muttering "Oh your shirt says Armani?! And in giant writing?! You must have got that for a serious discount. You paid what?! You could have almost got a plain white tee for that price!"

But reality suggests that people pay more (and thus see value - right or wrong) for brands.

Even then, a neg would be appropriate at OzMakeAStatementAgainstSociety.com but I am of the opinion that over here at OzBargain cotton that has been cut and stitched doesn't automatically accrue a cost when you stick some ink on it. A free shirt is still a free shirt!

Besides, if it was a free Nike / Calvin Klein / Other branded shirt, would you say the same thing?

        Yes.

I feel somewhat the same; I hate buying t-shirts and such with logos on them. I feel like a walking billboard.

Nevertheless, the t-shirt is free, so it's a bargain. I wouldn't wear it in public, but it'd probably make a very nice dusting rag.

yet football fans will gladly pay for their favourite team's jersey with Barclays, QBE etc emblazened on them.

It's not essentially free if it still "cost" you exorbitant amount of time (lining up, going there just to try to get one, limited quantity).
It's different story if you regard your time cost nothing, or you happened to pass by the store and able to get one for sure without lining up (and get out of there as fast as you can), or they can ship it for free (without them saving your personal info and spam you later on with their marketing material)

  • You don't need to line up guys, you underestimate just how many 1000 t-shirts are. Get there by 11-12 and you should be able to get in & out with a t-shirt in 5 minutes.

  • will they be having a grand opening sale? something more than 10% maybe?

  • Unless I'm missing something , there's no mention of free t-shirts on that link ?

    • Everytime Apple opens a new store, they give out commemorative t-shirts. Then in 6-12 mths these shirts hit the great big auction site online and they fetch ridiculous money from people who missed out.

      • Great, now I have to endure Broden hanging out in the Hornsby mall :)

    • You are not deceived by your eyes. Real Apple freaks get notified of these things via email.

wait get the t shirt and add a little android to it eating the apple
