Bosch Blue 18V Brushless 3 Piece 2x 3.0ah Combo Kit $230 @ Bunnings

2400

Similar to the other deal posted here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/534500

But this one is much better value in my opinion, especially if you use the tools more than a couple of times a year to hang a picture. The difference between brushed and brushless in very noticeable in terms of power (I can't speak for this brand, but definitely in others I've used).
Plus you get a work light with it, that seems to be of reasonable quality.

Don't forget the free battery that you may potentially be eligble for: https://www.boschbluecrew.com.au/Promotions

This Bosch Blue Kit includes:

1 X 18V Brushless Hammer Drill GSB 18V-60 C
1 X 18V Brushless Impact Driver GDR 18V-EC
1 X 18V Worklight GLI VariLED (420 Lumen)
2 X 18V GBA 3.0Ah Batteries
1 X 18V Fast Charger AL1820 CV
1 X Small Tool Bag

    • Didn't offer me any.

  • Could have driven to the local last night but thought i'd order online ,got the call this morning no stock "a glitch" apparently. I feel i have been dudded here also , even if you order first someone can buy your stock .I hope Bunnings give me my refund Today seeing as they have charged me .

  • Picked the last one in Sunshine VIC. Thank you OP

    • That’s where I had my click and collect. :( looks like I miss out.

  • My click and collect from lidcombe got cancelled. No stock. None nearby either.

  • Opted for Click n Collect, unfortunately someone went in and purchased before the staff collected it.

However, more stock should arrive in next 3 weeks I was told, price will be honored.

    • Did you call the store and ask after it was cancelled?

      • They called me saying they were out of stock now, but will honor the price

  • My order couldn’t be fulfilled because a guy went in and grabbed the last three boxes after my Internet order, anyway if you see a deal like this go to the store asap your internet order could take hours to fulfill and in that time the stock’s getting lower and lower and you miss out although you placed your order beforehand….

    • I’ve already seen a few of the kits for sale on Facebook.

  • +1

Very disappointing online experience from Bunnings ,they are crossed off my online list . Going by this if there is any sort of decent deal happening it will likely be sold out from underneath you instore ,even if you had ordered it hours beforehand .If they take your money and charge your C/C ,that's a sale and reservation of stock imo. It's not as if they are small operation here .

    • Think this falls under the category of gaps in their IT systems / business process. Their online system is only a few months old, teething issues as there are a ton
of manual processes that I suspect dont do "real time".

Not sure where this falls under NSW Consumer/Fair trading. Since they didnt intentionally deceive customers. On the the other hand it is a contract. Since it was offered for $230" paid for and expectation of pick up next day "7am-9pm" and contract is binding.

      • David Jones is the worst but they don't care and haven't done anything to improve the site

    • +1

Yeah of course, if there’s stock on shelf or above the shelf the in store customer wins. They don’t have staff running around reserving things for online ozbargain customers.

    • For regular purchases, online is fine. For Ozbargain deals, get in the car and get to Bunnings ASAP.

  • Sounds like I won't be getting mine

However have not heard from Bunnings at all and have no email confirmation.

No record of anything except a $230 charge to my credit card

  • Sold out at Bunnings in Rydalmere this morning

    • Yes, that's who called me saying they couldn't fulfil my order. :(

  • ordered online for click and collect and got a call this afternoon that they dont have it stocked anywhere now. I was told the supplier will have them at end of the month.

    • just got another call from them and was told supplier isn't going to restock this :(

  • Thanks OP
Grabbed one and a work colleague grabbed the other :)

  • I bought this EXACT kit on the 4th April for $399!! FFKS!!

Do you guys recon they will refund the difference?

    • No. You can return though and hope that you can buy it again.
Or some credit cards offer that they pay the difference.

  • got the last one at Balcatta WA after trying Osborne Park….win!

    Thanks OP, legend

  • Procrastinated on it all day yesterday and ordered C&C late last night (last in stock according to checkout). They rang an hour ago saying it got snaffled by someone this morning before it was taken off the shelf but they will organise one from another store to be delivered to me within 4 hours. Pretty good service if you ask me but seems like I'm one of the lucky ones.

    • could have been me - they were on the phone about a cash and carry order when i ran out the door!

      • Just read your comment above…my original one was at Wangara. Malaga had stock so they sent one from there.

    • Mine was just delivered. No surprises in the box like the 10/12V battery but it's a good kit.
Tracking was excellent, SMS when the guy left the store and could GPS track him to my door.
He said there was quite a few at Malaga going out for delivery.

      • Even got a call at 5PM from the same lady as the morning asking if everything was delivered on time and if I was happy with the order.
        Amazing service!

  • Mine came with the two 18V 3.0ah batteries and also a 10.8V Wireless charging battery which I have no means to charge…

    Guess I can sell it?

  • How do you get them to deliver? It said no delivery.

    • +1

I think there needs to be stock at a store within a certain radius for delivery.

  • I have not received a phone call nor email saying that i can pick it up. Ordered last night click & collect at Greenacre..

    • I think it might have been Oz bargained and they store managers are overwhelmed.

  • Also have not received any word about picking up or otherwise.

Ordered last night when they still had stock (apparently)

  • +2

I also note, it no longer appears on the website

    • Easy way of removing the problem. I think they will be getting a lot of fair trading complaints.

  • Ordered 8am, no contact from store yet so I'll be pleasantly surprised if I get it

    • Spoke too soon, just got my pickup confirmation email, thanks OP

  • Phew Got lucky!! All my local Sydney stores were sold out in a flash so did a cheeky and ordered a delivery from the Shellharbour store early this morning - snagged the last one it seems - delivering early next week. Although I did get a worrying call later in the day from Bunnings Caringbah saying they could not fulfill my Click and Collect order! (Confused!!). Thanks a bunch OP 😊

  • +1

Got one that's going to be delivered to my parent's house!
All's well that ends well! :)

    • +1

Thanks OP. Got one coming. Good to hear you do too.

  • Anyone know if the Bluetooth module for the drill is worth getting or a bit of a gimmick?

    • I was wondering the same thing myself, but have made the decision that it must be a gimmick… It's a drill, what else does it need to do? I think the add-on chip is $49. Might spend that on drill bits…

    • Not worth it unless you do a lot of drilling in dark and tight areas.

The only reason to get the Bluetooth module is to extend the LED time and control the kickback.

Echoing the sentiment here. Placed click and collect order with a store that was probably the 4th furthest from me, as my closest stores were low stock.

I kept checking the stock at those stores throughout the day and they eventually turned to no stock. The store I bought from went low stock and then no stock, with no notification. My heart sank, especially with reading the comments on here.

Finally I had a phone call, sorry we sold out, however there’s a store further up the road who have put aside one. I said I’ll take it!

Click and collect needs work unfortunately but thanks OP, I’m very happy with the set.

has similar issue with c&c on dewalt …..they upgraded to next model with a bigger battery, happened with a tool set and i got the next set up for same discounted price, will be interesting if bunnings brush people off or get onto bosch for sets to fill their orders, or a similar set , they have one with 2x 4ah batteries but no torch, and wear their stuff up….. now the total tools 25% bosch is also finished was thursday friday……

i checked the receipted times they sms besides the invoices from last night and it was after lunch, so the order i placed last night, walk in customer probably bought the stock this morning and when staff pick for online orders the stock is gone ….. should be first things they do in morning is online stock ….

  • To people having issues with Click and Collect orders not being filled — I placed a C&C at mu local Bunnings and when I saw stock dropping I decided to go in and see if it had already been picked rather than waiting until this morning. Turns out it had been picked and was sitting there. So if you see stock dropping I'd just go in and see if it was already picked. If it's not then just grab one off the shelf. C&C as we are finding out is not a guarantee it will be fulfilled. And items are often ready to be collected same day despite what the website says.

  • Got email mine is belong delivered today

  • C&C got refunded.

    • +2

They've called and tried to refund my C&C order twice and I have told them both times I'm not having it as it was clearly in stock when I paid for it. I offered to buy the 3 piece set instead if they can find one but they need to sort their systems out as this is just begging for trouble. I actually went into store first and could see one order behind the tool shop counter for 5 units, which is ridiculous.

      • Is the 3 piece set also discounted?

      • They tried to see if I wanted the kit with the angle grinder as well. It's $100 more and not brushless, so I declined.

  • One left in Reynella SA, as of 20 minutes ago.

  • After one day of use and my Impact is already showing issues. Locking sleeve must be pulled back to accept a hex bit, Speed randomly fluctuating from 30% to 70% and a chance of the drill not working until you take the battery in and out multiple times. Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

    • +1

The first few arent issues. The sleeve needs to be pulled back to accept remove the hex shank. Its meant to lock it in place till to slide the sleeve out in.
      Speed varies with trigger pull.

Battery I cant explain it. See if the contacts need bit of cleaning and the battery is seated 100% with a solid click from the battery?

      • The sleeve needs to be pulled back to accept remove the hex shank.

I see. Just seems inconvenient because on my Dewalt I just push the bit in and it locks. Only need to pull back to release.

        Speed varies with trigger pull.

I know this but my issue is when you apply 20% force and keep it there is will stay at the speed but a few seconds later it will jump to higher speeds with no extra pressure applied.

        • +1

The speed issue is actually a Bosch "feature" its called Soft start and its something you have to get use to. I know its a pita when you first use it but after a while its actually great to get proper seating when driving in screws. i.e. decking screws

          • @pegasusx: This is why I wonder if the BT module is worthwhile. Being able to tweak that feature (or turn it off if you really like).

Edit - Didn't mean to tag you, just a comment in general as I asked about it above.

            • @whitelie: No. The BT module is really for inventory tracking / maintenance if you have 50+ tools and are mission critical.
Not worth the its just to adjust the functionality of changing the speeds ranges and LED lighting / Smart start functions etc.

  • Picked up my C&C order last night, great kit. I used the impact driver today to build 4 ikea sets of furniture. I know it is overkill for ikea but it certainly did make it easier not having to use a screwdriver or Allen key!

  • What charger did everyone get?

I got the GAL1880CV not the AL1820 CV

Is this the same, worse or better?

    • GAL 1880CV better model. Can charge newer Core 8+ AH models quicker usign 150W
      AL1820 is only 50W.

    • Got the GAL.
Really good charger (even with the noisy fan). Very quick for the 3Ah batteries.

  • Just picked one up at Bunnings Munno Para West. There's still one left on the shelf.

  • A lot of people keen at $230 but what is the FULL retail price? Does it warrant so much fanfare at $230?

    • +2

      I recall they were $399.

    • Still $399 at Total Tools - and that is sans-the worklight

    • I believe they were $399?
This kit for $399 has the same drill, impact and batteries, without the $69 light and a slower charger. The replacement set (better impact, 4Ah batteries but no light) is also $400.
I think they're about half the price of what they're normally worth, so yes, definitely worth the fan fare.

Edit - took too long scripting my reply!

  • Finally got around to picking up my click and collect order this morning. Very happy with the kit. This will certainly get plenty of use!

Now to find a half decent drill/bit set to pair with it rather than using the cheap rubbish I have at home.
