    Referrals on OzBargain
The original simplistic idea was that if a member posted a deal and the store has a referral system, then they were free to mention that link or code in the deal. But like any true bargain hunters, the temptation to push their referral links everywhere meant that the site needed to come up with guidelines which are to this day still evolving.

Can I post a referral link or code in a deal?
No, referral links & codes are prohibited almost* everywhere on OzBargain; this includes all deal, forum and classified posts and comments.

Can I post a referral link or code in a comment?
No, referral links & codes are prohibited almost* everywhere on OzBargain; this includes all deal, forum and classified posts and comments. You may post competition referral links & codes in the comments of competition posts only.

    Any bargains?

No, there are not. $10 off these prices is garbage.

    • +1

$60 off sounds like an okay deal to post here imo

      • -1

Look at their pricing! It really isn't.

$20 off makes them attractive. And they have done $20 off (twice now?). If you wait you'll probably snag that. I'm paying $45/m right now for their basic plan due to this. It's the cheapest internet I could get as a light user. And I need to churn soon before I get charged $65/mo which is a massive ripoff for 25mbps

PS: I tried their customer service once, didn't even get a response email.

        • You can get 50Mbps for $62 a month with Launtel on the mainland, with referrals codes on here and $25 credit included. Why would anyone ever pay $65 a month for 25Mps? Or $69 with Mate.

          • @checkingthisout: Yeah but how are their speeds?

            • @[Deactivated]: I am on FTTN. It's a pile of junk but Launtel has no issues. I can only talk of my line, i get the 50Mbps I pay for in terms of downloading on steam at the full rate, same for google drive, or international servers. I don't have buffering or drop outs. I had a bit of teething issues at the start, but the NBN apparently fixed the street, cause our pings dropped by 10ms.

I change from 50-100Mbps some days, just to get the extra 30-40Mbps, which is the absolute best part, again the FTTN sucks so i will never get over 100Mbps or get near i think. I couldn't go back to paying monthly now. It's just so boring to be like, ok, next month we will do a speed change, na, i want to do it whenever i want.

  • Where do I get my superloop referral code from?

    • Log into https://members.superloop.com/ and then click on "Your unique referral link" on the right to copy it

      • Perhaps it's because I only just signed up and haven't been connected yet but I don't see it. I can't find it anywhere.

  • +2

    From the email:
"You can now get 10% off your bill for 6 months for EVERY referral that signs up to join the Superloop family in May! PLUS it's stackable up to 100% off your bill (ahh did someone say FREE internet?) đź’°
Did we mention that your buddy also gets mates rates? They'll get $10 off a month for 6 months. Aren't you the best friend now"

  • -5

But then you're with Superloop. Hope to god you don't have any NBN troubles or else you'll have to deal with the appalling customer service.

Seriously just go with AussieBB. Pay an extra $10-20 a month and know you can resolve technical issues by running your own tests through their app and lodging service problems via the app too. Save the money elsewhere.

    • +9

I’ve never had issues with their customer service, always on the ball for me and fixed up any problems I’ve had quickly. Their Member Portal is slowly adding the tools that AussieBB eventually had as well.

On the other hand had issues with months with AussieBB and always had to follow up and push them endlessly myself to get anything done. Albeit this was a dropout issue and NBN’s problem, but an ISP just wiping their hands of any follow up and saying “it’s the way it is with NBN” is a little annoying to me.

It’s the nature of the beast at the end of the day, and I’m sure I would have experienced similar if I was having the same issues while with Superloop and others, but just providing two sides of a story here!

      • +3

I too had a similar issues with ABB - emails and phone calls to chase them up on issues I had. Switched to Superloop 6 months ago and has been brilliant thus far.

      • Wife’s family just moved house with AussieBB, sent them 3 modems one after another as the connection would not push through to the router in wireless mode.

I pushed and helped them to call and request a tech after these 3 all didn’t work, and AussieBB said they couldn’t send a tech and told them to cancel the service altogether…

My 2 cents, not sure if any ISPs are 100% so could we worth trying SL. Though this isn’t much of a deal anyhow.

      • +1

You must be lucky I emailed their support and got a reply back after 5 weeks 🤦‍♂️

      • an ISP just wiping their hands of any follow up and saying “it’s the way it is with NBN”

They are a pointless middleman like every ISP.

They buying NBN service, after you paid for the NBN via taxes and raise the price to make a profit.

Every competitor is an inefficient duplication of business functions - CEO, board, owners etc.

Every competitor drives up the cost to the end user as a smaller portion of them pay for the costs of the duplicated business functions.

        • +1

In the example of NBN with wholesaling costs, probably true. There isn't much room to budge.

In other products it'd be called competitive.

    • +4

We (superloop) have significantly increased the capacity of our contact centre, we had a rough patch for two months with rapid growth and we were not able to train people fast enough.

Superloop is also industry-leading in every single metric that NBN report on regarding support according to our monthly report card form them. the team has become very efficient and skilled regarding NBN faults.

The members portal now has, and continues to have new tools added all the time regarding all the tests you will ever need to run yourself.

      • +5

What is the avg wait time, last Thursday at 9am was 1 hour and 25 minutes?

      • +3

Can you (superloop) who are industry leading add the following. Day charges, 30 minute speed changes, real-time network monitoring to the public, in dashboard pausing, in dashboard cancellation, response times in under 2-5 minutes via chat?

If so. That would be great. Cause a small team in Launceston with 0 funding called Launtel has been able to do those.

Just seems like this is the BASE of industry leading now. Instead of just a pipe network. That kind of internet connection seems so redundant now.

      • +1

Hope so. I didn't even get a response last time.

But my biggest gripe is your prices are awful. I'm putting that as politely as possible.

Hopefully you have enough staff to be aware of my email when I put in my churn request (to an ISP that isn't $65/mo for 25mbps).

        • -5

In Superloops defense. They would give you a 1000Mbps connection for a decent price if the NBN didn't charge so damn much. It's also expensive to grow a competitive network against, Telstra or AussieBB. Especially when Superloop connects directly to the NBN. That's not cheap to do.

          • +1

@checkingthisout: You do know super is also are a wholesaler and have a network that is on par or better than Aussie. ( depending what and where your going, could be better)

Telstra network has always been high pings for me

            • @liveish: The network is no where near the quality of Aussie for providing NBN services. And product review makes this clear for AussieBB. Where superloop hovers between 2-3 stars.

      • +1

I waited for 90 minutes as my connection didn’t happen on the day I nominated and just had to hang up. It’s a bit of a joke your customer service. If I want that kind of service I would just go back to Optus.

    • +1

In terms of customer service the only complaint I have is getting through to them by phone (usually > 1 hour in the queue for me). Have not had responses to emails so phone was my only option (they said it on the phone themselves that the best option was to just call)

But when I do get through, the person on the other end had taken their time looking into my issue, were not rushed and did not try brush me off, and were very clear and explained everything well. Issue was resolved in the end when they had to get someone from NBN come and look at my connections.

In terms of performance (I live in Sydney CBD) I have been monitoring my speeds over the last 2 months - have never gone below 92mb down and 19mb up on a 100/20 plan. Have not had any disconnections either (since getting the initial issue with my connections fixed).

  • +4

I’ve had no real issues with Superloop. Been with them since December.

    • +1

I've had a pretty good experience with these guys since September

  • can it be used if you have been with superloop within the last 6 months?

    • If you have ever been with Superloop you can't use this discount

  • +2

Speeds are great on superloop, no difference to Aussie for me. Aussie definitely have better support and their phone app is great. But if you don't need those then SL is fine.

  • +3

Would definitely recommend Superloop. No issues at all since switching over to them and their customer service is pretty helpful. AFAIK they have the highest typical evening speeds(for 100mbps plan) and keep upgrading the cvc automatically depending on congestion. Not to mention if you play online games, pings are lowest(even to other continents) because they pretty much own a lot of their own infrastructure and give direct routing

  • when signing up still showing 98.95 even though i have put in referral code?

    • it works, just continue the application and towards the end (in the contract summary), the referral credit is applied

  • +1

    referral code no longer valid?
Update: it works, just continue the application and towards the end (in the contract summary), the referral credit is applied

  • +1

Very happy with Superloop - great speeds, no concerns

  • I've found superloop to be great around Canberra. No issues to date, so if anyone would like a link feel free to send me a message.

  • +1

I really like SL, bu I like them more when there is No Referral Scheme. Why? Because it aids in keep prices Lower and more Competitive, IMO.

Some people are more popular than ever, some people are not, some people just cannot be buggered to talk to anybody let along tell them about their NBN connection to score credits, hence for the most part these Schemes in the long run only cost some people by having to pay more later on when prices go up. (again imo)

  • Only getting $5 off per month

  • +1

Waiting for $20 off a month and I will jump…

    • Same, never joined SL before so I know I am eligible.

  • I am with Superloop NBN 25/5 for 44.95 a month ending in July I think, then whom to switch to for cheaper unlimited internet ?? around 40-58 dollars a month
    Not considering NBN 12/1.

Any good cheap alternative. Superloop has been pretty good for me.

    • I am considering Belong atm after superloop, comes with $55 a month (12 month contract), but a brand new free modem and a 80 dollar mobile credit. If i sell modem after this can probably get like 35$ of the modem, and 80 bucks equate to 6.66 dollars a month. So technically only paying like 545 for whole year or like $45.4 a month

      • may i ask how was Belong compare with superloop?

        • Belong is good, initial connection takes too long 8 business days, but connection speed on lowest stater nbn is always nbn30+/18+ with me when it just got connected was getting nbn 50/20 speeds
But hey paying for nbn30 and i am always happy with speed of 30+ down usually something like mid 30 s.

And really happy with giving me First month free ( start your service around end of month like 26/28 th( takes time for shipping modem etc), something like that, when service gets active after 1st of any month, you get to have the rest of that month for free until the 1st of next month when payment starts

        • But hey honestly speaking superloop was much better in terms of customer support and getting service connected much faster. can actually call them unlike the Belong, they offered me to stay with them for 59.99 a month of nbn25 but belong is just better deal 55 a month for 12 month, 1 st month free and 80$ free sim credit can make that 80$ into 40gb(free) + 40gb for 40$, and have the rest 40$ credit for 4 month $10 plans. Not to forget using a 20$ referral credit.
So there you have what's pro and cons of each. So main advice if you want customer service —SUPERLOOP, if you want best value for Money belong ( only for 12 month)

  • Do you need to be a new customer to receive this? I left them 4 months ago, will it work?

    • I haven't tried personally, although no harm in trying I assume?

  • +1

just signed up to switch from ABB. used a random referral, so hope that person enjoys the discount too :)

placed order at 6.53am, up and running 7.03am.
    ABB was: 6ms / 99Mbps / 38Mbps
    Superloop: 4ms / 101Mbps / 38Mbps

    FTTN

  • I am currently with ABB and experience dropouts throughout the day. The staff isn't much helpful. Took 50 mins didn't do anything about it. They say its only 2 dropouts a day. They say NBN won't do anything until its more than 5. I can't do a stable video call.

I on FTTC with 100/40 plan but only get 100/20 all day.

    Thinking to switch to Superloop.

  • I'm a happy SL customer as well on FTTP. No dropouts whatsoever.

I get 80/20 during the morning on the WFH busy times. But at night I get 107/20 so that's sweet.

Just be aware that if your referee churns away from SL, your discount stops as well.

  • Have just recently joined the SL from ABB, 100/20 NBN. So far so good with SL, its been 2 months no problems, even got a discount and a referral bonus already, win win.

  • Is it possible to use a referral link as well as a sign-up discount code together?

  • Referrals discount and Promotions discount can be combined ??
