      I always find it fascinating that pixel 3 deals get 100+ upvotes due to the RRP but are full of complaints (mainly about about the battery), while this deal is full of love for the phone but barely hit double digits.

    Haha, that's funny because that is exactly what I am doing too! Glad to hear you are happy with it. I did the mistake of ordering a Samsung Galaxy M31 recently and after one hour decided to return it (terrible build quality and mediocre camera).

  The Nova 5t has better specifications than the Pixel 3 and A51 in terms of CPU and RAM. The Kirin 980 SOC is faster than the Snapdragon 845 in the Pixel 3.   Bought one of these for my partner at the same time I got a P30 pro, because I liked that it was the same processor.

  The camera is really quite good, and we haven't had any issues getting through a day and then some in terms of battery usage.

  The one thing that I really like about this phone is that it's super light, and as said in the previous comments, it definitely feels like a flagship phone when using it!

    The only thing in the back of my mind is whether I'd notice any difference if I instead got a Snapdragon 855 and OLED screen, like the LG G8S which is currently at a similar price. But the answer is probably no and once I have the Huawei I'll probably be very happy with it. Any example at this price point will probably have other tradeoffs like irregular Android updates anyway.

      Go with LG G8s.
      Compared to HUAWEI 5T, LG G8s has:
      OLED Screen. HDR10 Screen.
      SD 855. Much efficient. Was and still is flagship CPU.
      Great camera with OIS. 4k 60fps compared to 4k 30fps with Huawei.
      IP68 dust/water resistant (up to 1.5m for 30 mins)
      MicroSD expansion.
      3.5mm HEADPHONE JACK . definitely this is great for me.
      Wireless Charging

      I agree that Huawei would have faster software updates and little bit extra Battery. But Android pie is still great OS and there is roadmap for android 10 later this year for LG.

      Its all up to you. Compare online or some youtube videos Maybe.

        Thanks for sharing your thoughts. If paying cash I think I'd fully agree.

        Main challenge in my particular case is I have credit for a non-jb store that is optimally used for a phone, so the Huawei is almost free. I have a $100 JB gift card which isn't dedicated to anything in particular but that's still $400 cash I'll need to outlay.

        Got this phone yesterday to replace a Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G, which I managed to get a refund for due to the total lack of security patches and nothing in the roadmap.

        Too early to judge battery life and camera, which will be much used today. On the other hand, I'm finding the OS quite decent and very integrated with Google. I had a G3 and it was great, and this is looking like a similar experience. The water/dust protection and wireless charging made it a killer deal for me.

        The phone is light, comes with a case, and is very smooth. My only complaint is that though it can charge at 18w, it comes with a 9w charger, so I'll buy a stronger one.

            @sudeep: Thanks man, I'm a long Gcam enthusiast, have already tried 2 versions without success. Today I used the native camera app and it is surprisingly good,so I can wait to get a Gcam working test it.

              @renaldof: Stock Camera App is Fantastic.
              I only use GCAM for Night mode and Astro Photography.
              One issue that I found with LG is that Instagram stories, FB stories, or Low Res video on FB = Pixelated. Maybe Android 10 will fix this.

                @sudeep: took my first test photo (from the Gcam on your link, thank you!). It looks like the native cam processes the photo a bit too much. On darker environments, Gcam was a lot more natural. I checked it with 4 other people :)

  Bought this on from JB hi-fi last week with the Telstra deal, $99 out of pocket.

  Screen is very good coming from a pixel 2 xl as it's edge to edge .

  The speed is great.

  Camera is good quality but the focus and the shutter speed is slow which ends up making photos a bit blurry.

  The android UI is ok but not as good as Google pixel. They don't yet support swipe bottom left and right for app switching. You have to lift half way and then switch apps which is the biggest pet peeve I have.

  The speaker is on the right and easily cover but sounds good.

  Comes with a phone cover which is a nice touch and a screen cover already installed.

  Battery is huge and last all day.

  I really miss pixels android UI but otherwise happy with what I got for the price point.
