    It's a nope from me.

    • +3

      because?

    • +3

The reason for you to say no?

      • Because CCP. Besides that, it's a relatively old handset whilst still demanding a premium, plus even though this still supports G apps, Huawei as a company moving forward most likely won't provide substantial updates for an OS which they don't even use in their current handsets.

        • Racism, beside Android 10, what OS does Huawei use in their current handsets?

          • +11

@send2riven: CCP refers to the Chinese communist party and not all Chinese people. They aren't a race. It's like if you dislike the Labor party you are racist against Aus. That's not true. You will find alot of Chinese people dislike the CCP as well.

            • @someguyhere00: Racism, Huawei is mostly owned and operated by it's chinese employee, not CCP nor member of CCP, you are anti-chinese not about any party.

              • @leetec: Not commenting about CCP but you bought this phone cheaper 6 months ago. So this isn’t a great deal today.

              • -1

@leetec: Garbage, Huawei has to do whatever the CCP tells it to do at any time, the whole world knows this.

                • +3

@Dontreadthis: Interesting…aren't you telling what Trump wants you guys to believe and spread widely? LOL

              • -1

@leetec: Off topic, original comment says ccp, then I was merely stating the fact that ccp is a party not the Chinese people, the fact that Huawei is runned by whoever is not relevant. When someone says ccp there's always a comment saying racist, that's exactly the ccp tactic of embedding themselves as the whole chinese people which is not true. As far as I know ccp is not a race but a party that runs a country. You can't get all sensitive and say everyone around is racist just because they have an opinion about something

          • +3

@send2riven: Lol at the racism. It has nothing to do with racism, merely the fact that's it's common knowledge that Chinese businesses are bound by the policies enforced by their communist government.

        • +5

You just make up story, huawei just released major android upgrade for this phone.

        • +7

@willmanners - do you prefer CCP or CIA?

        • +1

every time there is a post for a product made by a well known Chinese company, there come the irrational racist comments disguised as hatred towards CCP. Since when did Huawei become a company owned by the Chinese government? Are you boycotting the Chinese economy in general?

          • -2

@Ozbogans: I don't see people talking about these issues when there is a xiaomi product, plus his comment was more politic than racist

            • +4

@Bubbleshark: ok, think this way, I hate the liberal party and therefore I am boycotting all high-quality meat & produce from Australia. Does it make any sense?
Those "politics" comments are racially motivated and should not really be here under a deal post. Save them for Whirlpool. Period.
oh, why did people not talk about Xiaomi like they did Huawei? Coz Trump hasn't sanctioned Xiaomi out of fear for its growth and told our leaders that it may be linked to CCP.

              • -4

@Ozbogans: I think you need to take a step back and calm down. Your metaphor doesn't work as noone is saying to boycott an industry but to avoid a brand. You will see the same type of behavior when it comes to apple products. Funny you are talking about the meat industry because isn't what china did to australia because the country was demanding accountability for the virus?

As for trump, you'll have hard time finding trump supporters around here … you think this forum will follow purchase advice from him?

                • +2

@Bubbleshark: mate, you need to tranquillise yourself rather. Apple products are mostly made in China, what are you trying to say? People in China are now boycotting Apple products? That is new. Oh, Apple is not an Australian company by the way.

That is exactly what I was saying, every time there is such a deal post, there comes netizens who keep banging on about the trade matters between 2 countries on a global economy scale. Save your precious politics opinions for the right time and forum =)

                  • @Ozbogans: I don’t know if you play stupid or you like to act so. I mentioned apple as it’s another brand that gets a lot of dislikes on ozbargain, as they are not chinese you can’t really say that the hate is focused on a certain community. Your arguments are irrational.

                    • +1

@Bubbleshark: I don't think you play so, you are actually so. Have reported your offensive remark. You go argue with yourself mate.

                      • -1

@Ozbogans: You name matches your character quite well

                        • +1

@Bubbleshark: My name represent people like you

                          • -1

@Ozbogans: You’ve entertained me well enough, I just misunderstood that you were actually serious rather than sarcastic, which is rather frightening. I feel that keeping it up will lower my IQ, so I wish you the best and try to think twice before going attacking people. Cheers

                            • @Bubbleshark: You haven't entertained people much, sorry. Don't worry about the lowering of I/Q coz it is virtually nonexistent. You can't even see you attacked others firsthand. Your dangerously low (if any) I/Q plus your hostile attitude towards different opinions will lead you nowhere in life. I don't wish you the best, just I ain't a hypocritical cow like ya. Say one thing and meant another. Yuck! Absolutely disgusting. Coming here to inject petty racist views and attack people if they think otherwise. Hope life treats you fairly.
We ozbargainers like good bargains and don't welcome politics here. Go away. People come here for others genuine comments on their experience with this phone not some politics shyt.

              • @Ozbogans:

ok, think this way, I hate the liberal party and therefore I am boycotting all high-quality meat & produce from Australia. Does it make any sense?

No but that is exactly what happens if you say you want an inquiry into covid

                • +1

@boretentsu: There is more to it. The trade tension has been building up to that point. But like I said, this is not a place for politics so I won't comment on that further.

          • +4

@Ozbogans: I agree with you. Huawei existence is benefiting consumers by creating healthy competition and leading research and innovation, essential progress of society as a whole.

            • +3

@williamk30: There there, tech companies COLLECTIVELY have such an impact on the essential progress of society as a whole.

2 words, and ignoring all this irrelevant CCP USA BS.

        LOCKED BOOTLOADER.

Never by a phone with a locked bootloader, or in ability to unlock it.

Same price at kogan. Download and buy from app to get extra 5% off today @ $664.

Got this for $0 on a $65 12 month plan from JB a few weeks back. Love this phone - very fast, amazing camera and OS is updated to Android 10.

    • +1

missed it just by a day…..only if they do this plan again, I will be jumping!

      • I took mine back the next day and got a $899 gift card, was pretty surprised they allowed it

        • Wait you got $899 fron the plan deal?

    • That is really good deal, I remember I bought from Mobileciti at $650. Very good phone for this price, got 2.

  • +2

Picked up in the last JB Hi Fi promotion (p30, not the pro), very happy with it, great value (though admittedly under the promotion I only paid the contract ETC of $390)

  • +1
  • Can't find the p30 pro for that price on jbhifi or Kogan - anyone know where it is $899?

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/collections/mobile-phones/android-…

  • looks like it's $999, so maybe can get the $700 giftcard and buy the p30 pro

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/541757

  • -2

Cheaper using Kogan app with 5% off

    • 24 months local warranty ?

    • +2

      5% off is approx $35.

JB has multiple stores across Australia and this is a good price if you want to get your hands on one today.

Kogan has low stocks + wait for delivery.

Even if you get the same warranty, I would still prefer to walk into a JB store to get replacement rather than have to mail it to Kogan.

  • P30 P30pro big difference or not ?

    • +1

      yes much different

    • Defends on what you value between the P30 and P30 Pro

      What's the same:
      Processor
      Software experience
      Waterdrop notch
      Front camera

      What's different:
      Waterproofing: P30 IP53; P30 Pro IP68
Screen: P30 Pro has a slightly larger screen, but the resolution is still 2340 x 1080
Camera: P30 Pro has four cameras vs three of P30
Ram: P30 Pro has 8Gb vs 6Gb of the P30
Battery: P30 Pro has a larger battery
Wireless charging: P30 Pro has wireless charging

    • Big, main difference is camera quality.

  • +4

P30 Pro has been my favorite phone I have owned.

  • +2

Got it from JB HiFi under $65 plan as my LG G7 was troublesome with battery life. I wasn't expecting much as I bought as my secondary phone. But this is my favourite phone now after having Samsung S8, LG G6, LG G7. Battery life is amazing. Exceeded my expectations from my first Huawei.

  • +2

Have had a P30 for just over 12 months. Fantastic phone. I chose the non pro due to it being a bit smaller and I love flat screens, oh and it has a 3.5mm jack. All round awesome phone. After 12 months I still finish most days on 60%+ battery.

  • I am so desperately wanting a P30 pro (breathing crystal), and with lines on my current Pixel 2xl screen a permanent fixture, everyday my urge to just purchase it becomes stronger. I however am struggling at the thought of having to fork out more than $800 for a phone that is over a year old. Why won't it's price budge? Or are these deals now a sign of what's to come (pls just gimme a deal below 900)?

    • +2

I got my P30 Pro several months ago at $895. No regrets.

      • Australian stock?

    • +3

If you eager to have one, you can try JD.com, they are doing 618 sale right now and the P30 Pro is around $750+ with all the import tax and shipment. Good luck.

      • +2

I did the registration & maths, it's about $805 shipped (shipping is $27)
bare in mind: it's only 1 yr oversea warranty vs local stock with 2 yrs warranty

        • +1

You need the coupon to bring it down a bit. One for the phone and the other for the shipment. Total price should be RMB 3720 something.

          • @vihand: how do you get the coupon? I tried and it says "white membership required"?

            • +1

@davidl2: Should not be that coupon. Should be 200 discount on 3000 one. You will find it under the phone webpage.

  • Excellent phone (My partner uses it). I actually prefer this over the Samsung S20+ I use. The P30 is just the perfect size to use one handed, I like the gestures and the UI better than my Samsung's. Only thing I disliked was all the bloatware which can be removed easily enough.

    • +1

I'm exactly the same. Traded up from the P30 Pro to a S20+5G. Wish I hadn't
