  • This seems to me the same as the Audiosonic speaker I bought from Kmart on clearance last year for $5.

Woolworths at Macarthur Square have them. Just bought 4.They are down near the freezers at the back of the store. The speakers are in Square, black, small boxes.

Woolworths Campbelltown Mall and the other Woolies that is 10 seconds away (near Hungry Jacks) both have them behind the counter. So you cant buy them without a Lynx purchase.

They sound very, very average. You would not want to pay more than 1c. But a bargin is a bargin.

nice picture =) and phone number as well

  • why is it expired?

  • +2

Did OP get into trouble at work for sharing this? :o

  • +2

Nice Work OP :) I am seriously in fits!

  • +3

OK - Why and how is it expired ?

Why is there a picture of an old women and why is there a phone number there ?

    • +3

      ring and find out ;)

      • +1

        I'm afraid.

      • +1

        Or try googling it. :|

  • +5

LOL, whose grandma is that? And why is she on sale at Wollies for 1c?

    • +3

The OP has vandalised the deal and appears to have a PETA agenda. I've fixed it. Grandma should be gone now.

    Did someone get fired ?

This modern day doo hickey called the internet can be a bitch.

The deal states that you have to buy the Lynx deodorant in order to get the speaker. If you're taking the speaker through the checkout and paying 1c, that's as good as stealing i reckon (ethically i mean, legally you're in the clear).

    :(

    • +5

Wow - an honest person! Thank you.

    • +2

After woolworths shafted me at a AHRC conference and blatantly lied constantly, I'm happy to screw them any way I can…legally, they have no ethics dealing with me so don't show any to them :)

      • You are screwing Lynx not woolworths, who obviously are not the ones paying for the speakers.

If you want to know if something is right or wrong, ask yourselves 'what if it was me?'.

If you wanted to promote your product and someone found a sneaky way to get it free, would you be happy to lose tens of thousands of dollars?

        • You are screwing Lynx not woolworths

You reckon Woolworths aren't going to be liable in any way? Possibly. But maybe Lynx request the remaining speakers, in direct ratio with how many cans of DO have been sold. Not sure how these promos work.

  • this deal is good for me, when it is expires?

  • prob when they correct the pricing error

  • +1

I never thought the day would come when Amanda Keller would sink as low as to promote the Woolies app on their website. Either she's been offered a really good deal or she's blown her fortune at the stock market…

    • +2

she is on this courier show on sbs, anyone seen it lol…

  • BTW, At Chemist Warehouse, Lynx cans are 2 for $6..

    • +3

Maybe when they have 1c speakers, i will be interested!

  • Our local store hide them behind the counters and you have to purchase 2 Lynx :(
So this is not a deal for everyone…

  • Local Brisbane store had about 100 on end of aisle display in deoderants section tonight.
Far more speakers than the number of cans of Lynx.
Am wondering if it is just the smaller stores that do not have them on display? (Lack of shelf space)

    • Which store in Brisbane? I couldn't find them at toowong today.

      • +1

Carindale - so not worth the drive for a basic unpowered speaker! I was shopping there, so got 2 free. ($1.95 Tim Tams + 2 speakers = $1.95)

        • On the box it says 'No batteries included'

I might take one of them apart and see whats inside.

        • +1

Would not waste time on dismantling - won't be interesting - just 2 cheap speakers and some wire.

  • +1

They're not worth going out of your way to chase - hubby's ipod put out more volume before he attached these. There's a very slight improvement in the sound clarity, but only very slight.

  • samsung galaxy s is HEAPS louder than these

    • +1

as per OzBargain code i bought 7 for 5 cents. gonna give them as kris kringle presents and/or as thoughtless gifts

  • +1

So like I scanned one of the speakers and just as I was about to leave the store the sales person caught me and made me buy the lynx products. Thank god they scanned the deo cans separate to my purchase I'm gonna go get my refund tomorrow! :)

    • +1

I would of just handed the speaker back and walked off

      • +1

Yeah I was gonna do that, then I thought I can refund this since I bought it in a separate transaction which doesn't list the speakers.

  • +1

there is 30+ speakers at Rosehill Woolies towards the end isle near the freezers. Good thing they also have the self service checkouts :) Got 2 for myself
I like the fact that the op changed his username to anonymous lol

    • haha I think the OP got into trouble at work! Poor thing, risked his job to help you guys get 1cent speakers.

  • Still heaps at Bankstown Woolies when I went this morning

  • none at Carnes Hill

  • +3

Stacks at Cherrybrook Woolies - at the end of an aisle not with the other deoderants. The speaker sounds so crap I don't think it's worth any more then 1c though.

  • +1

I picked up a speaker this afternoon, l wish l hadn't. The mini speaker volume output is really low, even my iPhone speaker plays music louder than this thing. Don't waste your time with this rubbish.
