FREE Fully Fledged Websites AND Hosting for Businesses, Bloggers and Community Groups

21

For a limited time we will be setting up and giving away FREE basic web presence websites and e-commerce sites for Businesses, charities, individuals and community groups.

Sites provided will be fully fledged and client-editable, and in most cases will include a small amount of custom graphic design work.

Priority will be given to businesses who wish to start their first ever online store.

This is an excellent opportunity to get on the web, free of charge and learn about the benefits of having a presense online.

We also offer free web hosting for existing websites who wish to migrate across to us.

Our free hosting and websites will initially be published under a .floatmarketing.com.au subdomain unless the client already owns a .com.au or .com domain name they wish to use.

For Some eligible businesses, we can arrange a FREE domain name also for up to two years.

Clients will be allowed to leave our service, free of charge at any time.

Simply fill out the web form on our site to make your application.

Applicants who provide more detail and information to us on their requirements and business/ community activities will be given preference in terms of time to delivery.

Initially, up to 50 free sites will be made available.

Good luck!

    Title:
    "Fully fledged websites"

    Body:
    "basic web presense websites"

Am I being too cynical or is this very blatantly intentionally misleading?

  • Was initially tempted but look at the portfolio - not quite to today's design standards, not even to the standard of a simple Joomla template design

Think most people can create a better site in Microsoft Word (yes, Word)

  • How can it be free since you implement a payment system?

    Justified Criticism guys-
Definitely should have run a proof read over this before submission considering it was hastily written rather late at night.
lol. and also, spell checkers have ruined my ability to spell when typing over the years- we all know how it is. :P

People can offer their own files for hosting for free too- so using word is an option!

Most sites will be supplied with a CMS such as drupal, joomla or a cart program such as zencart.

Free sites will look something like the main Floatmarketing site.

That's a great feature for something that is FREE.

  • Once built, i'll post a few of the new sites up in the portfolio space of the site, and also here in the comments section of this post for people to have a look at.
Quite a few applications have come in already!

    • Yeah it'd be great to see some examples of the various sites that you are offering to do (ie, Basic Organisational Profile Site, Online Store, etc..) basically examples of the sites you are offering to make at the question: "What do you desire in your FREE web presense? *"

      Thanks

  • Why are you offering this for free? What is in it for you?

  • Chococholic - I filled in the form yesterday morning but still haven't heard from you guys (no email acknowledgement etc). Just wondering how long the process will take. Thanks

  • There has been a pretty crazy amont of responses to this offer- the email box is full to overflowing! it's been very successful!
I'll be sorting out the serious looking people who actually took the time to fill out the forms properly and getting back to them with follow up tonight about exactly what they want in their sites.
    (layout choices etc)
The process may take a week or two before you get your logins, faster for some such as the community group that is holding an event next week and wants a site for that.
Everyone will get a response though. :)

    • Sounds to me like someone is trying to create their own hype.

Your website states "In fact, the majority of our services are FREE, with very few strings attached!"
You are just spruiking your own interests here & l see no bargain when you won't even disclose what those strings are.

You ask for a lot of personal details, ABN, phone number, business logo etc, yet your site does not even have a contact number or name. You provide zero details up front, yet want an awful lot in return.

If something smells funny…it usually is.

      • Yf you have a read through the website its all there.
you get a free website, we get backlinks and potential sales leads through that. Also, context sensitive advertising provides a revenue stream. Its on the front page!

You will notice that most of those details are voluntarily submitted- not required.

For most businesses and cummunity groups, these basic details are public knowledge anyway.

        • *community

    • Ok thanks, but may I suggest that (or next time) at least an automatic acknowledgement email be sent.

Firstly, it at least lets people know their application is received. Secondly, if you get an email bounced back then it saves your time reading their form. Thirdly, it doesn't need to promise anything but that people's forms are being looked at and that they expect to hear from you guys in ## days.

  • No worries- Easy enough to set up the bounce back! I'll add that tonight!
    Thanks for the feedback!
I had expected that the response time and turnaround to forwarding logins for new sites would be only a couple days- but the sheer volume of requests has surprised me!

As you can imagine, this being a customised offering that caters to individual needs, not a machine generated generic offer, it wont be an instant process.

To those who who have submitted, please be patient! your applications are being assessed and proposals are being drawn up!
