Just letting you all know - mine arrived today. Thanks

  • +3

Installed mine. Pretty straight forward linking to the app etc.

I can't seem to change the language to English though as it defaults to only Chinese.

Another issue with the Android App running in the background, after a while the camera disappears and I will need to re-log in to the app to view the camera. Not good at all if I have to reload the app constantly. Also can't find any updates and the current firmware is 24/01/2019.

    • try to reinstall your app…
my one is English and works perfectly without those issues.. and it is really value for money.

    • yeah forget any chance of an update.

I also noticed today that the app is not alerting me to a ring. There is a low battery notification so it might have to do with that. weird.

      • You might have received a faulty one. Return it

      • I don't think the app will notify me when the bell rings

    • +1

That’s the latest update apparently. I got mine today very straight forward. Charging it up now, I connected to app. Will install on the wall this week.

Did you figure out how to stop the app from logging out /shutting down constantly? I'm having the same issue, have gone and allow unlimited background battery use for the qsee app but doesn't resolve the problem.

      • What phone/OS do you have. I'm finding the same thing no notification

        • Using a Pixel OG with Android 10.

          • @paperkut: hmm could be an Android 10 issue

          • @paperkut: I just set the battery optimisation to OFF. will see what happens

            • @poxy001: I have same issue with the app closing after a few minutes and have all battery optimisations off. Might need to use another app to launch this app every few minutes which isn't ideal. Or maybe there's another app that works with this?

              • @FeZZa21: Yeh battery setting didnt work for me on Android 10. Ive uninstalled and tried again.

                • @poxy001: Reinstalling won't help, I've tried the app on two different phones, one on Android 10 (Huawei) and the other on Android 9 (Samsung) and still the same issue.

                • +1

@poxy001: I changed to the icsee pro app.and that's working better so far, runs in background as expected

                  • @FeZZa21: Thanks for this, tried the app you suggested and seem to be working properly now.

  • Does anyone else's take a long time to buffer when checking the video? I haven't timed it but it's quite a long time (maybe about 30 seconds).

    • +1

No. That sounds like your internet connection is slow?

      • +1

Nah, 100/40 FTTP. I think it's something to do with the app itself. That said, seems ok now after a few tests.

Is anyone still waiting on delivery? My tracking hasn't moved in a week!

You can use Tasker + AutoCast to turn your Google Home/Nest Hub/Speakers into (speaking) door chimes.

    • How did you set this up?

      • +2

I haven't had the device for very long to fully work this out, here's what I have so far to assist:

        Tasker Profile
        Tasker AutoCast Task

Technically you should be able cast the entire screen of your host device (I use an old Nexus 7 tablet running Tasker & AutoCast & QHsmart) & use Tasker to open the q-see app and perform the required taps for video feed. No audio, unless your 'host' device is located near the Nest Hub.

More assistance is found with a Google search like "doorbell tasker autocast" or similar.

        • Thank Lukian for sharing. would you mind share more instructions once you figure out how to use Google home as the door chime?

    • +1

      Awesome.

A much more trivial way I came up with and am using is this. I needed this as a chime throughout the entire house and because the qsee app doesn't work on my Oppo.

Set up a ifttt for Google assistant to say "ding dong someone is at the door" (or whatever you want) and to send me a notification when you say "OK google doorbell" (can be done with routines too I guess

I then set up an old Android phone I had lying around that the qsee app actually works on. I recorded my voice saying "OK google doorbell" and set it as the ringtone. Then set the ringtone/notification in the qsee app to system ringtone.

Now someone rings the doorbell, the old phone rings and the ringtone triggered google home to broadcast "ding dong someone is at the door"
I've also bought a cheap chime capable of pairing for $12 and awaiting its arrival. It will work with the doorbell as I've seen it done on YouTube.

Side thought, can you pair the doorbell with broadlink rm Pro and have it trigger google assistant when pressed? Don't know much about it but seems possible as the doorbell chime works on 433 mhz

  • Anyone had their bell not to ring to your phone? as long as I am not going the app it won't ring on my phone .

    • it does look like the app needs to be running, try disabling battery optimizations for the app in your OS settings.

There are comments elsewhere that standard 433mhz doorbells work, so I'm wondering what the cheapest (2) pack at bunnings is.

      • How to set up the doorbells to link to the device?

        • You set them to pairing mode (hold volume for 4sec) then press the door bell and it will ring.

      • I had an ARLEC DC163 lying around which I found out didn't have a "pairing mode".

    • +2

Use icsee pro app instead, works better

      • Before I install it, do you mind sharing what better features it has?

One review says it has ads

        • same features as the qh one is a clone/copy of this app

          • @FeZZa21: Does the notification work on Android 10?

      • confirm this app works better, the notification will be sent even if the app is not running in the background.

  • Anyone getting a "Force Dismantle Snap" - does that mean that the tamper button on the back is not sitting flush against the unit?

    • +1

Yes, had the same issue. Removed and reinstalled and screwed the security screw in firmly. Fine now

  • Is it possible to get it to take a photo/video when someone presses the button?

  • Is there a way to change the ringtone on the doorbell itself when pressing the button?

Hi, is anyone still waiting to receive their order?
I haven’t received any updates since placing order..

    • -1

Yes - still waiting here. Do you have a tracking number? I've lodged an enquiry with Aus Post but sadly looks like it's been lost in transit. Encourage you to do the same

      • No tracking - I only ever got an order confirmation.
Thanks, I will follow up with Auspost!
        Edit: Auspost are pretty helpful!
Apparently if you don’t use your auspost account, you don’t get a tracking ID. Was told 15 days till considered lost -> refund/replace

For those wanting to follow up their order:
        1800 331 794
        Then option 2

        • +2

I used my auspost account and still didn't get a tracking number. It just turned up magically

      • +1

Mine was lost in transit too. Lodged an enquiry and they've said they'll send another one.

        • Received a Paypal refund earlier today - no explanation from AusPost, so gathering there was no stock to resend.

App not working with my Oppo r9s, keeps crashing. Works with my wifes Xiaomi note 7, just not the oppo. Contacted support who are useless with this issue.
Ordered a universal chime from ebay https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Wireless-Smart-Video-Doorbell-Ca… for just over $12. Will keep updated if it works or not.

    • use icsee pro app, your phone will ring no need chime, but for $12 why not

    • is the chime working?

      • Called out earlier this will not sync with the doorbell.

      • Sorry forgot to update. The chime did not work.

  • Anyone found cheaper working chime for this?
