Return airport transfers included so need to stress when you get there

Why? Is the service that unreliable? LOL

Incidentally at the current rate of exchange of roughly 1AUD = 3MYR, I doubt if this package is normally worth 3558 or even 1779MYR. Especially as all that seems to be provided are accommodation + breakfast, one elephant tour and airport transfers.

      • +10

Well I suggest that people check travel sites by themselves. Just do a price search on tripadvisor.com and you will see that accommodation for two at the Coronade is around 80AUD per night. So multiply that by 5 you get 400AUD cost. You can get a taxi from/to KLIA for about 45AUD each way. So that's 490AUD worth subtotal. As to whether the elephants are worth the additional 100AUD is up to you. Personally I think people can do better if they plan it themselves. KL is a very easy destination.

Oh and Coronade only gets mediocre reviews at Tripadvisor. It's very very handy to shopping if that's what you want to do.

I know KL pretty well, but anybody can do their Internet searches, they don't have to believe me or you. And it's pretty easy to do your own booking over the Internet instead of paying yet another middleman.

        • and that's after you've saved 50% lol

        • Yeah in this fake deal we would pay the middleman plus the OP.

      • +1

dude i am from malaysia. with that kind of money. 1779MYR, you can do much more than that. stay in double tree hilton or gardens hotel would get you a much better value! not a bargain! and going to kuala lumpur and visit the kuala gandah elephant sanctuary for the WHOLE day? DONT DO THAT! YOU CAN DO MUCH BETTER THINGS IN KL!

        BAD DEAL! BADDDDDDDD

ps. never argue with potential customers on public forums :)

what im saying is that THIS IS NOT A BARGAIN!

btw "Save 50% on this fantastic package that is worth $1186 normally." show me the break down of "$1186". its hard to spend that kind of money in kl :)

Hi, there is no argument, this package has been put together from our merchants - some people may not want to run around an negotiate rates for rooms then entries then tours etc etc.

Some people just prefer a set package - no surprises later however all valid points - thanks.

        • +2

I'm guessing ozbargain is not the place for these kinda ppl (ie the ones who don't wanna run around bargaining and getting the best deals lol)

        • I have to agree, spending over a 100 dollars in KL gets you better than a 4 star hotel. The cost of airport transfers and the tours are really negligible.

There really isn't alot of running around to do. Book hotel from comfort of home without having to search for deals. Averages at around $100 dollars for a 5 star hotel.

Hiring a taxi to go to the free entry tour places, hop in. Make sure it's metered. If you're that clueless, you probably are best to steer clear of S.E Asia.

Really, there is no deal here. Rep, your attitude really isn't helping your cause. Ask any Malaysian if this is a deal.

      • +1

Mate you're rude also you're spamming.
This isn't a deal, full stop.

        • Rudest rep I've ever seen on ozb

        • id like to see you two post a deal and have someone mock you and see how restrained you are, it isnt much of a deal, but he is far from rude

        • We aren't the only users who have made comments on this deal and you choose right us why? You're OP's friend of mine or you don't have a mean of politeness.
Worse, you got a problem with one of us?

        • -1

did i say you were the only users that have made comments on this dead? and I chose you 2 for a very clear and precise reason, which makes me amused me greatly how it went over your head. What does "or you don't have a mean of politeness" mean exactly? I dont have a problem with either of you, need some big boy diapers now?

        • Mate you really got some big problems here.
You're rudely attacking users on this forum to defend your mate and now you need to find an excuse to defend yourself too, so I would say you're shockpuppetting??

If you don't agree what people say in a public forum, that is fine but also that is your problem for sure when you attack others, so there must a reason why you said "you two" or "I chose you 2 for a very clear and precise reason"!
In a public forum this is called "personal attack" also it shows a very "rude" behaviour (poor on you) toward people you don't know.

Then you said "comments on this dead?" yeah you're right on this but you confirm what I said that you got so much a problem with "us" that your blood is boiling and now your trying to quit this thread too "comments on this dead".

Have a rest mate, today is Saturday and there are many things you could do rather than being rude.
I'm not going to replay further to your trolling because I don't want to be off-topic.

No, you are the rude one here, and the icing on the cake of your incompetence, is calling me a sockpuppet.

If you don't agree what people say in a public forum, that is fine but also that is your problem for sure when you attack others,

What attack? If you cant handle a discussion on a internet forum, you have issues you need sorting out elsewhere.

so there must a reason why you said "you two" or "I chose you 2 for a very clear and precise reason"!

I already told you, and it went over your head (not my fault your slow)

I know and you really should have a good hard look at yourself

Nope, just stating my opinion, you are the one that got all worked up

haha, i appreciate the good laugh, i havent seen anyone here with such a huge case of delusions of graduer in a while.

Hmm that elephant tour costs around 100 aud for your own personal taxi to take you and wait all day, and they can take to the nearby deer park. Prob cheaper if you're good at bargaining. Entry to the sanctuary is free but you can donate. Otherwise not sure what the hotel rate is for this place seems like an ok deal?
Although I guess you're just paying for hotel and transport. For a bit over 100 a night you can usually score some really nice 5 star hotels.

Yea sorry on second thoughts you're not really saving anything just paying retail so no deal here.

  • Ozbargain! Not OzAdvertising…

    rude rep, and advertising.

    1.0. Legality
Not withstanding the place or country in which a course of action arises, it is expressly agreed hereto that all causes of actions shall at all times be commenced within the jurisdiction and territory of Malaysia. All terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any claims, legal proceeding or litigation arising in connection with the service will be brought solely in Malaysia, and you consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.

    Um, no thanks!

    • So that is, the OP just looked at a package in Malaysia and doubled the price to get his commissions.

  • Or to be charitable to OP, the packager based the price on the hotel's rack rate. But nobody in their right mind pays the rack rate. That sort of deep discounting the Coronade does is symptomatic of a need to fill rooms.

SAMUEL80, I sort of sympathise with your unenviable situation of having to market a lousy deal. You can see that actually I have been the most lenient of the responders, I haven't negged this deal. But you should expect that OzBargainers are a tough bunch. If you argue, people will analyse your offer to pieces.

Also, 3 days shopping in KL? No way. You can do it all in a day in the Bukit Bintang area. Petronas Towers? Meh. If you are going to Malaysia, don't spend all your time in KL, get out of the city.

    • +1

I negged this post because it's not a deal.

I "would" empathise with the OP's feeling (I guess?) if I am 100% sure he/she is inexperienced and did just post a bad deal.
But also the OP replayed very aggressively (in my opinion) toward others "stop making silly assumptions and post FACTS" so here we go with facts and opinionated assumptions.

  • +1

I am Malaysian like engmeng above. It's way too expensive! NOT A DEAL!

  • Hi Everyone,

Thanks for everyone that made comments to help us all understand that this is not a "fantastic deal" - I totally understand after reading some of the more constructive comments why. I'm not use to this type of posting but historically we have been able to submit a good deal, just need to get it right every time otherwise people do get a little unkind on this forum at times (not always that's for sure!)

Am starting to wonder if there should be some form of restriction - if you want to comment on a deal that has been posted, just be nice about it - that way no one feels that you are attacking them rather just trying to show that this may not be a great deal after all through demonstrating some facts and reasons why.

On behalf of the team at ikOala we submit an apology to all Oz-bargainers for posting a deal that just didn't fit the right criteria - just wish it was more pleasing to be part of this community rather than non-welcoming.

Apologies again to all and have a wonderful day - will try a harder next time to ensure we deliver a better deal for you all to review and comment on.

    Thank you

    • but historically we have been able to submit a good deal

      I disagree.

if you want to comment on a deal that has been posted, just be nice about it - that way no one feels that you are attacking them

If you notice, your first reply to greenpossum has received -8 votes. My opinion only, but I see nothing at all unfriendly about the comments made by greenpossum, indeed many have seemingly found his comments useful and upvoted them.

will try a harder next time

ozb has many examples of different ways reps deal with criticism and then the following response from members. If you look at past deals you will see that members react very positively to reps who interact and actively try to make their deal better. The flipside, well…

    • +2

It may help in future if you research your offers more thoroughly. If you are buying them from a supplier, it pays to do your own checking; you have the same access to the Internet that we do. It's embarrassing for you when inevitably OzB members discover that the claims are inflated. We are used to this sort of exaggeration from group buy sites so we tend to be a skeptical lot.
