Cheapest Ryzen 7 4800U I've seen. Do be mindful of smaller 57Wh battery and inferior screen. Great build quality and should be great for power users. Not sure whether the wifi card on this is an Intel though. Contains an additional m.2 slot and a 2.5" drive bay. The drive bay is unfortunately blocked if bought with a 70Wh battery. Also, extremely long waiting times are to be expected.

*Update on Shipping - My OVP originally said that the laptop will arrive 16 September, but has since been changed to 14 August. This should give some hope of faster shipping times.

          no, you don't want to go full brightness a day long cause your screen max brightness makes the screen just visible, your laptop will run out of battery very quickly

      4500u is 6 cores 6 threads. It also has a lower boost clock (4.0 vs 4.2) and inferior igpu (vega 6)

      Around 200 is typical for a monitor, 300 is about what you'd want in a laptop.

      Don't compare it to phone brightness - phones are often used in direct sunlight and need the 400+ at times. You won't typically use your laptop in direct sunlight.

    Why would anyone buy a lappy with soldered RAM? Apart from the lack of upgradeability, usually is just one stick (single channel much slower than dual channel), difficult if not impossible to replace malfunctioning RAM etc.

    It's like Intel said to all the OEMs ur allowed to build AMD solutions but make sure u screw up one thing that's not linkable to us… i.e sht screen… sht battery… Sub par build quality or cooling… Then nvidia chimed in and said anything above 2060 is intel only….

        The iGPU in the upcoming 11th gen is meant to be really good; raja works his magic again!

        The big one really is when Intel will get its 7nm out the door. Next year I would hope? Nothing concrete yet I don't think.

                Brand Card name AORUS - hmm okay you're just marking your territory Gigabyte. Careful not to get any pee on me.
                GTX/RTX - ok useful
                Card type - 1080/2070 Super/2080 Ti - useful but convoluted. Minor modifiers are a totally different card e.g. Ti vs Super. Annoying.
                Card marketing name - ArcticStorm Thermaltake 10 Year Anniversary Edition, GAMING Z TRIO, WATERFORCE WB 11G - My eyes! My eyes!!!! I guess waterforce and trio are useful/descriptive designations and 11G - well okay if there are different variants of memory for that card type.

      From the videos I've seen the m.2 2242 is connected to a metal bracket which is screwed onto the hole for an m.2 2280. So upgrading shouldn't be a worry.

        My Dell Inspiron 14 5480 had an M.2 2242 2230 drive, it just has like some weird switcheroo thingy that can add a hole for M.2 2280. Probably same here.

      For reference I ordered an IdeaPad 5 14", ordered on June 19, was shipped on July 9, and was delivered to my house on July 16. So less than a month seems like a pretty good timeframe considering the made to order aspect of these machines
