Using the same coupon codes as supplied by Chazzozz and their link to a 27 inch Dell UltraSharp 4K https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/555661,
I thought I would have a look at the U2520D, which is a 25 inch QHD model, which could be driven by more laptops, and is a bit smaller for your desk. I have this at work running on a HP dragonfly and it is awesome and gets rid of the need for a separate dock, and it is daisy chained to a HP video conferencing monitor (the Dell is sooo much better), so I’m pulling the pin to see how it goes on my macs at home.

25” QHD USB-C 60 Hz
multi-monitor setup.

RRP $608.99

Dell Express Daisy Chaining allows automatic detection of the second display, skipping the manual step of changing OSD settings.
USB-C connectivity: Get up to 90W of power delivery (the highest power delivery in its class) via USB-C, so you can keep your laptop battery charged and enjoy uninterrupted productivity. Also, speed up the time it takes to transition from your desk with a single cable that transmits power, data and video—all at once.

  • Beware that daisy chaining doesn't work on macs to my knowledge - see this article https://medium.com/@sebvance/everything-you-need-to-know-abo…

    Also the deals on Dell's own S2721DGF are giving the UltraSharp series a run for their money, with the main advantages of this seeming to be the daisy chain DP out and USB-C 90W (though, useful features for sure if 144Hz isn't required).

      I will give daisy chaining a go at home with my dell 2419dc monitor when this turns up. Worst is it doesn’t work, but I will usually have the two monitors with separate macs on separate desks anyways. It works with the HP. Reading your article link, it would seem apple would prefer one did one’s daisy chaining thunderbolt rather than DisplayPort, and forces it so. I guess TB is much higher throughput, but…typical.

      Also, I think the USB-c docking and u series monitor quality and calibration are very serious considerations over an S series monitor without USB-C even if the alternate has higher resolution. Those features are easily worth a hundred dollars or more in comparison.

  • need more inches …

  • I have a non USB-C Dell 25" that’s 2560 x 1440. The specs were good but if your PC/Mac supports it, 4K is better. In a way the QHD resolution is nice, but better suited to 27".

    I had the first gen of these monitors, and think the size and resolution is perfect for a 3 monitor set up.

    I previously had a 2 x 27" but you're either looking / bending your head to look at each monitor.

    3x27" is just too big, and you have the other edges you will not use or see.

    thanks OP! but is there any good deal for 32" IPS?

  • Would this looks weird or be awkward next to a Dell 27" usb-c 2k that I already have (U2719DC) ?

    Is this deal still available? Went on the Dell's website to buy it and it cost $568.65 at checkout?

    RRP = $669
    Discount = $100.35 (15% Off)
    Total = $568.65

    Did they have a 26% off discount when this was posted? Because that's the only way I can see this coming down below $500.

    • Yea looks like they've hiked the price. Just ordered one as I need one for work urgently.

        Yeah not sure if this post was ever true? The description said RRP $609, if you take 15% off that price it still doesn't come down to $491.

        Pretty much the RRP needed to be $579 (seems a bit too cheap for a monitor of this quality) for this to be $491 with 15% off.
