  • Link?

    • I posted a picture as I believe you need to be logged in to see the prices. Nevertheless, I updated the link to the Samsung Education Store

  • Geez. Not cheap. Retail that is.

    • Unfortunately not. Would be curious to see what discount the Enhanced Partnership Program customers get. With the release of the Samsung Galaxy Watch in 2018, they had a 40% discount on Pre-Orders.

      • +3

        Same price. Just checked

        • Can confirm

  • How different it is from galaxy watch s4?

    • +2

      s4?

        • Ah the galaxy watch. The sensors have had a big upgrade, if you use it for fitness you will value it's significantly increase heart rate accuracy, it also allows for ECG. Otherwise you get a few new watch faces that won't be avail on prior ones, and the newer ones are thinner and lighter.

  • +1

These have really jumped in price. If only something as good as this old deal popped up https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/405324

  • To anyone who have the Galaxy Watch, is it worth getting the LTE version over the WiFi for $100 more?

    • Yes its worth it. Can leave phone home when u go for a walk and still listen to spotify

      • +1

But U have to pay additional charges per month for the lte Sim right ?

        • +1

yep 5 bucks with telstra last time i did it - 6 months ago or so

    • +2

I would say no, you very rarely use it, I just ordered the non Bluetooth version as I always have my phone.

I got the LTE version last time and disabled it as battery would run flat quicker. Personally I saved the $100 this time. Optus never charged me to share my number not sure if glitch but even without the charge I've decided to get Bluetooth for better battery life.

I am not a runner, if you run I could see the LTE being good. Just depends how you use it.

    • +2

Functionality is great but I found real world use to be limited as the battery gets drained very quickly. Not sure if other telcos are offering the lte sim, but when I was with Telstra it was $5 per month.

I don't know if my watch is just from a faulty batch, but besides the quick battery drain when in LTE mode, the bluetooth keeps disconnecting from my Pixel. Had the S3 and it didn't skip a beat… so might hold off on looking at upgrading to the new watch.

    • Not all telcos offer the esim. Most prepaid you can't have

    • So (profanity) worth it. As a runner, and as someone who's battery runs flat sometimes.

The beauty of still being able to call family/vice versa if you're in an accident without your phone makes it worth it for me.

      • I've had 4 Samsung watches - all of which except for the latest were Bluetooth. My current Galaxy watch is LTE and I'd never go back to Bluetooth only. The incremental cost of purchase and mobile connectivity isn't huge and it's come in handy on numerous occasions e.g. when I've left my phone at home or in the car and didn't want to have to go back to get it or when exercising and not wanting to carry my phone. YMMV but for me it's well worth it.

  • Is note a Exynos variant again?

    • yes…. but appaz its a "updated" version … jelly about the Snapdrgn 865+ going into the USA side…. its the same chip set as S20 series. Personally if it goes down to 1100 like last time with NOTE 10 + through student edge deal - id probably get it

but look at Oppo find x 2 pro or wait for ONEPLUS 8T Pro if you can

      • No wireless charging on Oppo find X2 Pro .. forget it

  • Any idea if/when the Tab S7 and S7+ will be available on there?

    • +1

Not on there yet, no idea when it will be either sorry.

    • Just wait .. late August to preorder

  • I just don't get the hype about the Galaxy 3 watch.
I've got the Active 2 LTE and while I would like to have a rotating bezel, it's a minor improvement. Then add in that it actually has 500MB LESS ram than my watch, it really isn't worth that kind of money.

    • I have the active 2 44mm, and would swap in a heart beat and pay the extra. The design IMO is much nicer, flat screen that will avoid the crazy weak glass the gwa2 has, don't care about bezel too much but mechanical will be better functionally. Also given you will get the new watch faces and if ecg ever does come it will come to gw3 first. Mostly up to design really. At this price though I'd get the gw3 if I didn't have any watch right now

      • I guess that's where we differ, I don't really care what it looks like.
I agree with you that I'm quite worried about breaking the screen on mine. In fact, I got a stick on bezel today, to make sure that if I bump it, I'm more likely to hit the metal bezel than the glass.

  • Tempting….

But will wait for the 40%off..

    • I think 30% off is max education discount .. do you have ozbargain link for 40% off for previous example

      • I have access to enhanced partners program. So hopefully will be worth the wait..

  • Hoping there will be some good sales on the old model

  • +2

Don't forget to add $50 Marketing promotion voucher!!!!!

  • Still no square version

No pre-order bonus on this EPP store I'm guessing?

    • +1

Nope; just spoke to a rep via chat who confirmed the pre-order bonus does not apply to the Samsung Education Store.

      • +2

Wondering if the pre-order bonus from eligible stores is worth it. $69 for a rubber watch strap - can't be that good! And $59 for a wireless charger - which sounds ok. Overall, still a better deal at the EPP store than full retail.

  • Anyone know if EPP has different prices to Edu store?

    • No,they are of the same price.

  • Does Samsung renew everyone's eligibility annually?

I'm new to these programs and just curious if they send an email each year to re verify the account or if you get prompted to re verify it after logging in?

    • I just logged in via the portal, haven't had to renew/prove my student status since originally signing up (at least that I can recall anyway).

      • Yeah was just curious. Mine is not education but employer based and I have no intention of leaving this employer but if I do in the future i was interested in how Samsung purges these types of programs

    • My is employer based and I've had to do it twice in three years.

      • Thanks, how were you prompted about the account needing to be renewed? upon login or was a reminder email sent?

  • Galaxy watch 3 has been removed from Samsung Education Portal, it was there yesterday.
    What do you guys think?
If this is due to lack of stock, it should appear as out of stock instead of complete removal from portal.
Does this mean Samsung not going to sell it on Education portal anymore?

  • +1

It is still available for pre-order on Education Portal. Visit below link for pre-order of Note 20 and scroll to the bottom in accessories section, where you can see Watch 3 pre-order:

Seems more like a website glitch.

    • +1

available through the main link now.

    • yeah it is available now. thanks

  • +1

Took the plunge and ordered the 45mm LTE model. Looking forward to it!

    • Same and used my $50 code. Same technically got 36% of rrp

      • Yeah pretty good discount - can't imagine we'll see much better for quite a while.

Retailers are still selling the original Galaxy Watch at RRP! (although there obviously have been sales in the past)

        • Looking forward to it.

    • +1

Good to hear, as did I with the $50 coupon.

  • Just confirming the discount is also applicable to government portal. *.gov.au domains

  • Received a day early, nice!

    • Thoughts?

      • +1

Still charging and restoring from my previous watch. Probably want to get a bit of use in before I say too much, but happy with what I see so far.

    • Same!

  • how long do these sales often last? hoping to hold out on some more reviews, especially on the 41mm regarding battery life

  • I think the EPP will continue to have discounted prices throughout although it might vary from the current discount. I was thinking of getting one, but most of the time staying at home during lockdown, don't see much use of wearing a watch, but that's just me :)
