Gotta wait till monday to get mine delivered to Auburn OW, was hoping to get it today as I ordered it last night.I assumed store pickup would be quicker so I called them up and apparently I was wrong, It would have been quicker to get it same day delivery for orders before 11 am, yet didnt see that statement when ordering.
I asked if I can pickup anywhere else and she said theres nothing she can do. I hardly believe that they cant allow me pick up elsewhere. Feel like cancelling order and go try buying from a store. Last time I order online.

A number of 3G models at The Good Guys Bayswater, Vic. Got the last (demo) 16g Wifi at OW, Chirnside.
Just called Good Guys Noarlunga, they said all out of stock everywhere across Adelaide except Gepps Cross which still has a display model.
I did only inquire about the A500 model though.

Officeworks Noarlunga (SA) have the A501 32GB at $388 (standard price tag on the shelf). None in stock, Marion have a couple apparently. Good Guys Noarlunga matched this price, had a few left.

Figured they would all be sold but called OW@Maroochydore on the SSC and they had 3 spare & several on the way from Noosa's store (so im guessing they are out of stock) - staff have a couple reserved too for themselves as this is just that good a deal! However JB refused to price match even though OW had stock :-(
Just went down to my local Harvey Norman in the SouthWest of WA and they not only price matched but beat it!! 32GB Wifi/3G model for $378. The owner was fuming!!!! Said that was $300 below cost. Was so annoyed made me wait while he went and check it on the website. Then tried to offer me the extended warranty for $129. I said no that's ok i would just come back and buy another. haha.

OW allows pre-orders. Just go to an OW store and ask for a customer order for this tablet. I was told it will take up to 7 days.
I am the bloke on Whirlpool who got two 32G 3G of the above for less than $200.

Even if the invoice is legit, I doubt OW would price match since it's a one off deal, not an advertised deal. Anyone can easily photoshop the invoice to make it look like a legit invoice too.

Was looking for the wifi models (either 16Gb or 32Gb) - none at Officeworks Marion, Noarlunga, Prospect or Trinity Gardens. Good Guys at Mile End were out, and the Edwardstown store had the 32Gb display model left - tried to buy it but the numpty sales assistant couldn't get the security tether off the device and ended up giving up after he scratched the back up with a screwdriver.
Was told that Gepps Cross Good Guys still have 28 of the 32Gb models, but I couldn't be arsed driving that far for what is really an impulse buy.

The impulse buy got the better of me, so I took a drive out to Gepps Cross Saturday morning and picked up a 32Gb A500 model. At $300 it's a great replacement for the lounge room laptop.
Called up Joondalup just then. No stock left. The last 2 were sold today.

Listen people TAS posts some info that might be of importance to others here in making a decision and every on votes down the info, so this gets hidden from view.
They weren't getting into the usual - I hate X Vs Y, just letting people know that there maybe something to consider.
Now its heavily discounted for a reason. New model coming as some have pointed out, and yes for many here the discount outweighs the limitations.

GG at watergardens/taylors lakes has a few left. About 5 of the 16gb 3G and about 10 of the 32gb 3g. I picked up a 16gb 3g last night, and another this morning at $330. So if u ask for a discount you'll get another 9 dollars off.
Out of stock at both Gold Coast stores (Southport and West Burleigh) for the 16G WIFI model
None in GG on the Gold Cost either (checked all 3 before buying from OW online)… though they have it in their catalogue this week at $588 for the A501 16GB (!!!)… I can only assume they have put them away until this offer is over and then stock will 'appear' again…
Got the lucky last 16gb 3g model at 4pm today.
Good Guys in Taylors Lakes (Melbourne) had quite a few (10+) 32gb 3g ones left in stock for those who are interested

UPDATE ON ICONIAGATE:
Finally spoke to Michael at GG, it was an error in pricing. He accidentally put 50% off the sale price rather than the RRP. He's aware of the receipts on WP and has been called all day lol. Doesn't matter anyway as they no longer have any stock.
I think OW HO guys lurk here and WP as workmate tried to use the OW receipt to pricematch at 2 local stores and both had already received bulletins to say that OW Joondalup had incorrectly pricematched the GG receipt and therefore not to honour them. Another lol moment.
As for those looking for stock, just call up the OW 1300 number and they will look up stock for you. In Sydney, there are still a fair few stores with the 3G models. Also GG Penrith has stock of the 32gb's.

Well, it depends how many he sold at that price. If it were an innocent mistake, he would have noticed that the customer was only invoiced for $199.50. He probably 'assumed' that it was 50% off the sale price until he was told otherwise.
I went to OW Blacktown for price match, they called GG but a lady told them all sold out and the price is back to ~$600. So its clearly a mistake from both OW and GG

The very real risk is that OW is likely to decide to be out of stock because of this, and those that want to take advantage of the genuine bargain won't be able to do so.

I thought the video issue info may have helped some people. The Honeycomb upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1/ is an important one. As far as I'm aware you can't flash the ROM on an Android device from anything other than a windows comp. Apple laptops are the only computers in many households. Not everyone has been tempted by the Ipad because of the lack of memory card support etc. Your neg was ccrap indeed.

I went to Windsor also. There is still stock left at GG Oxley, so OW was willing to price beat the advertised price, but wouldn't match/beat the $200 receipts.

Went to Oxley Officeworks at 850pm last night to buy 3x 32gb Iconia 3g but the boss there has been friends with some dude at the Good Guys oxley for 10 years and he refused the pricematch based on the fact there was no more stock available at any good guys stores. This is not true. There were about a dozen left at Oxley GG when I was there at closing time yesterday (only 3G left, a few 16GB, mostly 32GB). They still had stock when I called at 9am today.

Question: Acer Aust quote 3G speed up to 21Mbps. Back of my box says 14.4Mbps. Is there different models?
Model number is also slightly different xe.h6qan.014. an extra digit "6". Uk Acer have this exact model and quote up to 21Mbps.

Acer support stated that they are all 21Mbps HSDPA.
The best advice I can give anyone is to be nice about it and explain that you don't want another 5% off, just the same deal as you have a copy of an office works receipt for $199.50 and you are happy for them to call the office works store to verify it is a legit purchase. Having worked in the same group of companies that Office Works is a part of, all invoices are kept in the system for a reasonably long period of time so they can search and find it to verify it's not an edited receipt.
It wasn't easy to get, I called and had to convince two team members on the phone and then they said to come in later that night as that's when the Manager would be there and it was at his discretion.
But looking at the posts above, it seems like HO have sent out a directive not to do price match/beat the $199.50 receipt as it is not an advertised deal and you can clearly read their price beat policy which mentions it must be an advertised price
Just went to GG at Casula crossroads. Went to try for a 16GB 500 for $249. They said they are taking backorders at that price for a deposit.

The guy who served me at our local store (also no sale prices marked) told me that the sale was supposed to exclude the regional stores, but that someone had forgotten to mention it in the advertising. He had no hesitation in giving me the reduced price though.
Got the 32gb 3g version at 379 at ow in cockburn
stock left at Gepps cross in Adelaide, no 32wifis but other models available however they had 3 people waiting behind me when i walked out so they might be gone.
Rang Castle Hill store and he said stock was diminished in like half an hour.
Suggested not to try other store, but I could not help but to ring my local store in Auburn and they had the display model left for A500 16GB and 2 of the 32GB.
Snatched one of the 32's and I am picking up tomorrow.
