      • Won't matter. Still a regular active account regardless of what you paid for it.

  • "Ability to use the voucher to extend existing account " - is this also available for the usual special of 90 days for $14.90 ? (as long as we don't order the free sim card)

  • can i transfer my telstra number to kogan? thanks

    • Yes. See link earlier in conversation on how to port your number over to Kogan.

  • Anyone know this answer to this question?

"use the voucher to extend existing account " - is this feature also available for the usual special of 90 days for $14.90 ? (as long as we don't order the free sim card)?

    • +1

No, only this deal allows. Nothing to do with the free SIM.

  • Anyone know where does it say "Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 30/09/2020"?

I only find the website says "Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 14/09/2020."

Just got an answer from kogan re. Expiry date. They confirmed mine expires on 30th September. I bought it when the website said 30th expiry though.

  • Hi all, I'm fairly new to sim-flooziness. So what happens after 90 days?
    Thanks.

    • Your phone blows up 💥
No, you can Port your number to a different provider (when signing up, it will ask if you are bringing your own number), or use a new number with next provider (mainly used by people using SIM for data).

Look out for good Deals closer to the expiry date. Some are free & some give cashback - maybe even a profit!

You usually have 30 days to activate a new SIM. So start your search 30 days before your service ends. You won't be alone!

Don't forget to turn off automatic recharge - or you will be charged full price💰

I've been SIM hopping for about 7 years.

      • Thanks for the reply, much appreciated! I've got a dual sim handset, so that sounds ideal to me. What voice plans do people usually go for their second sim?

And sim-hopping for 7 years, wow!

        • +1

Dual SIM here. In the past needed 2 phones to do what I have done for years….

I have my long term number in second slot.
Ported it to free Amaysim SIM a few months back - which receives (only a few) calls & txt for a year after the initial month of service.
Make outgoing calls & txt on whatever SIM is best offer that month, like this offer.
Not a system that would be of use to all, but its cheap & only need to Port once a year!!

  • Is this still works for existing customers? I have plan expiring in 7 days. I do have free sim from Lebara, does port out and in works with free sim?

    • +1

Just test it and it still works for ex-customers. I added a new customer only voucher to recharge an expired plan and got "invalid voucher", but shows voucher detail obtained from the deal. Just do not press "NEXT" to make actual recharge. I plan to use it on the very last day of 14th as it is just one of my home internet phone numbers.

    • Recharged existing Kogan account that was expiring - 2 days ago.

  • Has anybody not in VIC got their sims delivered yet?

    • Received mine 3 days ago

      • when did you order?

        • When the deal was posted

          • @[Deactivated]: Same. But hmm you're in Melbourne though?

            • @CVonC: Yep

              • @[Deactivated]: Yeah I was asking those not in VIC

                • +1

@CVonC: LOL, I missed the NOT from beginning. Appreciate you're patient with me😁

  • Can I use this voucher to recharge an expired (10 days ago) plan?

    • Log into your account online and try the voucher input option. It can only accept or reject.
      Just found this…

"If you do not recharge your account after your plan expires, you will still be able to receive incoming calls and text messages for 20 days, and make calls to emergency services for 90 days. To assist you to recharge your account, you can reach Kogan Mobile Customer Care online here, even if you don't have an active service.

Please note: Your mobile phone number will be reserved for 90 days past plan expiry. If you do not recharge within 90 days, you will not be able to keep your existing mobile phone number, and your account will be deactivated. Once your mobile number is lost Kogan Mobile is unable to retrieve it for you."

    • Yes, you can so long as it expired within 90 days.

  • Can someone verify this works for existing customers?

    • I can confirm that, I did mine yesterday. Just enter the voucher number in the space provided for a recharge.

      • Thanks, any idea if i can drag it out to middle of september before using the voucher?

        • Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 14/09/20. See description details above.

  • Anyone have a spare code they want to unload?

  • Was about to buy it last night and thought nah I'll just do it tomorrow. Sold out now…

  • Used today… all good..

  • This one's gone as well.
Waiting for the $12 Cashback on $15 deals now. Kogan/Groupon do your thing.

    • You can buy it for $14.90 here.

      • +2

He is after even better deal, but it rarely happens.

        Or he can handle Circles.Life $1 | <2mth | <200GB deal.

      • I know. Waiting for some cashback to get it down, to $5 at least.
        My last two grabs were:

$12 Cashback on a $15 54GB 90 Day Catch Connect SIM via ShopBack
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/493082

40% Cashback on $9.95 90 Day Kogan Mobile SIM Card via Groupon @ ShopBack
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/460345

        Effective Cost:
Catch Connect was $3 for 90 days, overall 54GB Data
Kogan was overall 60GB, stacked with Promo BRANDNEW to get 15% off, and further 40% Cashback,
        so $9.90 - 15% = $8.42 - 40% (Cashback) = $5.03

Cashback tracked at correct value for both Catch and Kogan, and was credited by Shopback within the stipulated period. No fuss.

          • @Arthur Dunger: Thanks. I have seen this.
$1 for ~2 months is too tempting I know. But just worried looking at the comments. Should I jump the gun? Not doing this for my Primary number anyway.

            • +1

@djoz: Looks fine if you read the comments & understand what you are buying.
Will probably buy one myself as I don't have home internet. Just use my dual sim phone & have a usb modem for deals like this.

              • @Arthur Dunger: Since this current Circles.Life deal is for two months or rather "two billing cycles", could you confirm if this is the best way to deal with it?

                1. Activate on 01-Oct-2020. You get the full month of Oct, with 100GB (am I right?)
                2. Come 01-Nov-2020, you get your first bill for Oct (which will be $38 - $38 = $0), and you get charged in advance for the month of Nov (which will also be $38 - $38 = $0). So far no cost.
                3. Around 20-Nov-2020, inform Circles that I want to discontinue my service (how to, email?). Service gets disconnected without any charges.

Did I miss any point? Also, is the first month 100GB or only 20GB (as the rest is bonus and is not "pro-rated" as they say)?

                Thanks in advance.

                • @djoz: I'm not an expert on Cirlcles Life. Best to ask the Rep on that deal post rather than here.

                • -1

@djoz: Your understanding is right. Best to activate it on the 1st of a month to get full 100GB in this offer..

If you port out your number, no need to notify CL. Just do it.

        • Profit potential with $30 Vodafone starter pack, if you are good at dealing with cashback.

          See comments in this deal.

          • @Neoika: This seems to be good. So I buy for $15, Cashback gets tracked at $20, and I get it in "up to 130 days". Also, keeping the SIM "connected for 60 days", is that ok if I switch over to PAYG with no additional cost after the first 30 days?

            Also, CR Terms say:

Cashback is ineligible when used in conjunction with any other offer, voucher or discount code unless listed on this site, or with any other discounts such as staff or student discount.

Doesn't the $30 pack "for $15" amount to an offer? In that case, the Cashback wont be given, IMO. Also, nobody in that deal has confirmed about getting cashback tracked.

  • Mine arrived on Friday and when I try to activate it, I get "invalid voucher"

Does anyone else have this problem?

    • I'm also having this problem. Did you work it out in the end?

    • +1

I just used mine to recharge a family members phone and it went through no problem. Voucher was purchases on 31/08
