    • Haha, yes, that's the point, but it can't drill!

Thanks. Was looking at this item this morning, did seem cheap. Anyway just bought it. Hope this click and collect situation is not too much of a pain.

  • no brainer! low price with nice warranty

  • Will visit bunning tomorrow, thank you mate 🖐🏻

Put out plenty today at Fyshwick, ACT :)

  • Sorry what drill head should we get with it?
I wanna drill holes around the house for argus camera

  • I'd rather wait to see if they bring back the $49 18v Ozito Hammer Drill Kit (Includes 3ah Battery & Fast Charger) as per last year's Black Friday Sale,

  • Bought a Ryobi for $100 yesterday. I haven't had good luck with Ozito. I might still get this though and return that one.

I've built pergolas with these… they're more than adequate for home use.

  • Cheers OP. Just spent more money unnecessarily!

We all tend to do that here unfortunately !
Good for the economy thought :)

  • None in Coffs harbour :(

  • Does this kit come with any sort of case or bag? I note the $169 kit has a bag in the photo.

  • if this was my first drill, any recommendations of a drill bit set to pair with it? I don't think it comes with any and I'm clueless about it

    • All depends on what you're drilling & how often etc. For a good all-rounder set keep your eyes peeled when sets such as these appear on OzBargain or if it's just for general DIY use around the house just go for a cheapie $20 set from Bunnies like this.

  • Do not buy these. I had the impact drill and it fell apart on first use.

      impact drill

It would if you use the impact driver as a drill

  • My mate said "do not buy this for exterior walls". Anybody has any comments on this?

    • +1

Well, he's right if he means masonry. It's not a hammer drill.

      • So is this for soft material only?

        • +1

Masonry is the only thing it won't do (nor will any non-hammer drill), but it will drill steel, if you get the right drill bits.
It'll actually drill glass too, which I believe is harder than concrete.

          • @RubenM: Mate, one last question
Will I need different drill bits for compact drill and impact driver?
If yes, which cheap one do you suggest?

If they are different drill bits then what are they called?

            • +3

@chintu123: Yes, a drill driver is what's conventionally called "a drill" so it's for drilling things. An impact driver does not drill (I think there are some exceptions, but let's ignore those), it's for screwing and it uses standard 1/4" hex.

Just get one of those Bosch kits on special, they'll have both. But you won't be able to use the masonry bits, as previously mentioned.

  • Can someone please guide if the below drill is good for brick walls outside?

    Thanks..

  • Also need pole prune/saw and trimmer. Any suggestion? Thanks.
