Will pass. Waiting for 100th anniversary.

    • +1

They will then jack the prices up by 2000%

  • +1

Anyone got a list of sellers for this

  • +1

Higher max discount woulda been nice for those bigger ticket items….. but not holding breath they’d be on the magical eligible list anyway, and maybe jacked to boot!

    • +3

      $300 limit… Dont expect much.

  • Sorry is 21% of cart total or select certain items and is there a price point before the 21% kicks in,.. or have a feeling wait and see scenario 🤑

I'm sure it's been mentioned before but why can't ebay just lock in the sellers price in the terms and conditions for an item they list over a period of time? e.g. If you sell an item using buy it now, you lock into a listed price for a certain period, say 7, 14 or more days listing. This way you can have your 20% discount sales and sellers have already committed to their listing price.
This would do away with sellers also pulling their products and trying to relist them at an inflated price knowing a sale is coming up.

    • +1

Yeah I mean you can guarantee most technology stores will be increasing their prices. Every time I've looked up tech goods I've noticed an increase on the price when there is a discount coupon applicable, then a return to normal pricing after the discount coupon has expired. You can catch them sometimes before they do jack. Then the price is great.

+346 plus votes and no one has pointed to a single deal.

  • Hah my membership has just expired. Don't see $50 annual value in it I'm afraid.

  • +2

How to search what items will be available?

  • +3

    waits for all the deals

    crickets

  • +7

Garmin Vivoactive 4S Black with Slate Hardware (AUST STK) $447.02

    Garmin Venu $473.09

Good prices… Not amazing, obviously not 21% OFF…

  • +2

Was looking at the LG UltraGear 27GL850, the one on the list of eligible 21% off was from futu. It was jacked from $899 to $1025. Adding 21% off would bring it down to $809 which is 10% off only. Lol

  • +4

    Negged.
Barely any items 'eligible' and the ones that are have been jacked.

  • NVIDIA Shield TV PRO 16GB 4K $315.21 seems quite good
    link

  • None of the ebay plus items in my cart will take the code. Lame sale

  • if sellers are unwilling or simply cannot offer 20% off the RRP at the very least, then why would eBay include them in the sale??

    • Ebay supposedly covers these discounts. But i suspect it's more of a "Share the load" arrangement whereby ebay would cover 11% and the seller would cover 10%.

  • Any good Boozebud deals?

    • +1

Nothing much on BB. If you like tequila then the Don Julio reposado is good value at $78.80.

    • +1

Discount brings the Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva rum down to $82.94 which is a pretty good price imo (generally $99 at DM and nicks).

      • Thanks I will consider!

  • iPhone 11 pro max 512gb. Used and they want 2350. Sure it's 21 per cen't off bit it's obvious price jacking. Thus is misleading and false advertising. I think the ACCC will need to investigate this as price jacking and then offering a discount is illlegal i thought.

  • +2

Such a disappointing sale cancelled my ebay plus membership, that I don't think I got any value from anyway.

  • +4

Item I wanted went from $1499 to $1666.99 for today. How convenient.

  • +3

Anything I what is either overpriced even after the discount or out of stock, yet another lousy eBay sale. Back to shopping at Amazon.

  • +1

    happy birthday, Ebay!
    good bye, Ebay!

  • It was fun the quick finger battle :)
    +

  • Neggin' as it's supposedly an eBay Plus sale but 90% of items- even eBay Plus items- aren't eligible.
    what. the. hell. cmon ebay.

    • Ebay plus item listings: at least 431,848
      "https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_nkw=new&_from=R40&LH_EbayPlus=1"
      Eligible items: 16,393
      "https://www.ebay.com.au/e/coupon-offers/21-off-ms-plus-top-picks-sales-sept20?_kwdomcat=11450,11700,58058"

so 96.2% of eBay Plus items are not eligible for the sale.

      • +1

Nice , there some gold in that 3.8% if you can find it .
BTW most gone in the 1st mins lol

Sorry I lied to you use to be 3.9% before your post :)

  • +1

This seems to be a good deal for the special edition cyberpunk 2TB xbox game drive (was in the 21% off search, so comes down to $114 (other places selling it for $300?)

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Seagate-2TB-Game-Drive-For-Xbox-…

  • +1

Price Jack, more like price R&pe.
10% off last week provided significantly better prices, than this weeks rubbish.

The deal is aimed at signing people up, who are clueless to eBays shenanigans, and hoping they forget to cancel their free trial.

The few deals that are decent are hardly worth celebrating considering the majority are rubbish.

Hopefully the 10% will be back for negligible price jack sellers next week.

  • +1

purchased an oppo a52 for $255 which is alright

  • +2

Was hoping to pickup some computer parts, but should have known better…

    • Absolutely, Futu Online Ryzen 5 3600 price was $324 now jacked upto $389 even after the discount $307 is not the cheapest from a local store.

  • +4

Yeah, alright, I'll join the choir: just had a look at Lenovo's laptop offerings, as that is something I purchased and researched extensively in the last few weeks… it's risible. Both in pricing and selection!

Update 1: Revoked my vote but can't neg it, though, for some religious OzBargainist reason 🙄

Update 2: Hah! And for that have just been awarded the Revoker badge of "honour" 😅

  • +10

Not much of a 21st party, more of a funeral for eBay plus.

    • was thinking of the same thing

  • No deal, what a joke…

  • There's definitely deals in there amongst all the price jacking. I just saved over $40 off the price of a Asus ROG motherboard compared to the cheapest online store (Umart). Saved myself a drive down there too.

  • Does this apply to the zzz atelier mattress's, i've gone through the checkout but need to be a plus member to try the code. Don't really want to sign up unless it works though.

  • +1

went to buy something from applianceonline but said "This code can't be applied to your order." I thought applianceonline was listed as participating?

    • Appliance *Central

      Vaccuums and aircons only.

  • any actual deals on fitness trackers or smart watches?

  • The UPS I was looking at worked out to be $1.13 more expensive after the coupon from the same seller but then it included free shipping and I could get cashrewards/shopback and use discounted eBay gift cards from Australia Post… so all in all, barely any saving.

  • Decent price for Sigma 24-70 2.8 for Sony at $1499 these days. Was cheaper on release but I highly doubt we'll see those prices again anytime soon due to the demand for the lens and increase in RRP.

    dcxpert ebay

      • Doesn't that link to the same item?

        • Sorry, I think I was meant to paste the link for the Sony 24-70 f2.8 which was the same price. If same price and similar specs I'd opt for the Sony lens instead.

          • @imaxsameer: Are you talking about the GM? Do you have a link? The lowest price I can find for a new one on ebay is $2.4k+. I would definitely buy the GM if it was the same price as the Sigma.

  • smarthomestoreau just jacked up prices an hour late. The "trying to con consumers" is strong with this one.

  • SSD drives price jacked.

    • +1

Have people actually done this in the past, what was the response? Because this continues to happen.

  • +1

3 items I wanted, all jacked.

  • fake sale - ebay plus is a long running joke

  • I thought I read someone say it applied to everything in certain categories including Food And Drink, but trying to use it for something in Food And Drink says can't be applied to your order? was that mistaken? can't see where someone said it now

  • $30 price jack on the Logitech MX Master 3

  • I revoked my positive vote. Prices have been jacked. (4tb WD portable hdd $219) really????

  • +1

This Plus seller have some quality stationery for sale. 21% off and free shipping

(Not associated with seller, just a happy customer)

    https://www.ebay.com.au/str/bunbougu

  • There's a lot of bargains posted from this sale. Did some stores forget to jack their prices up. Dummies, hahahaha

    • +1

      they will jack asap.
seems a giant waste of time as a buyer.

      • All we do is waste time. Maybe this is just more of a waste?

  • been keeping an eye for Lenovo X380 and with 10% sales I could get it for about $1500 and now with 21% I could not get it for any better than $1500. take care OB

  • +1

The Dalmore 18 Year Old Whisky comes down to 177.74 which is a pretty good price

  • Bought the xm3. Thanks

  • +2

Found the deal page, from here you can search for the eligible items or sort and view them.

  • -2

If you're about to do a grocery shop this is a perfect time as coles is included and hasn't seemed to have price jacked. Although what I buy from either coles or woolies isnt really stocked.

    • How do u find the Coles 21%off stuff??

      • Are they in? Searching for "seller:colessupermarkets" within the promotion yields nothing.

        • Dunno! That’s what adamiscoolization said

  • yeah…. nah…. GPU that you can buy with 230 is 310 here just so you feel you get a deal….

  • +1

for a 21 st celebration its absolute crap - reckon I'm done with ebay plus already - no renewal.
