  • I wonder from which seller or what type of products are eligible with this code. But bugger, early this morning I already purchased 5 items from different sellers.. :(

  • Vote positive just for the 21%!

  • +7

Cant wait for the 100 year anniversay for 100% off

    • +1

That would be great but not sure I will be alive to see 100th year anniversary.
On side, I think after 50, they will turn backwards.

    • +3

Let me guess.. 100% price jack?

      • +6

They can do 100% price jack as long as we get 100% off ;)

  • Wahoo 21% off a list of items no one wants or can find easily.

  • Keep in mind if you're after a Dell product there is currently coupon codes that should get you to 20% and you can buy direct. I've noticed a few monitors aren't on eBay and the ones that are are about 10% increase in price.

  • +1

I cancelled ebay Plus - does anyone know how to see which items may be eligible for the coupon code (once active) without signing up again?

  • eBay trying to con me into getting eBay plus 🙄 no thanks. I'll pass, im pretty sure this is just advertising like all the other deals Ive seen posted

  • +1

great, how do i know what's eligible? so far only shitty sellers and categories:

    Baby Bunting
    Bing Lee
    City Beach
    Dan Murphy's
    Myer

    Shop Full Range
    Home & Garden
    Health & Beauty
    Food & Drinks

    • +10

If you want it, it's most likely not eligible LOL

      • They just need to make it easy 12% or 15% sitewide. Done.

        • Then it'll be real discounts though, not just a marketing ploy

    • Ah not all ebay plus??

Damn wanting to make my yearly big protein buy and missed last deal

    • +1

Where did you get this list from?

      • It's on the left hand side of the ebay plus sale page.

  • +4

Till this day, does anyone actually know what "eligible items" mean?

  • +1

I wonder if CA's 1TB Samsung Evo Plus SSD will be eligible.

  • +5

    Happy 21st bday Jack!

  • +7

So many votes and it's not clear what is actually in the offer.

I have Ebay plus and I have used it once for something I didn't really need. Can't justify keeping it.

  • +11

Guessing 21 years is referring to the .au site. Here's the oldest snapshop from archive.org for those who'd like a nostalgia hit:

    https://web.archive.org/web/19991128191718/http://ebay.com.a…

I'm particularly nostalgic for the old final value fees. Here's the oldest page that shows them. Back then (March 2000) they were:

5% of the amount of the high bid (at the auction close) up to AU$50.00
    -Plus-
2.5% of that part of the high bid from AU$50.01 up to AU$1,000.00
    -Plus-
1.25% of the remaining amount of current high bid that is greater than AU$1,000.01

  • +4

Can someone point me to the specific bargain? Unless there is an actual bargain shouldn't this be in the forums?

    • +14

      why upvote then?

      • op likes hearing good news

        • op likes clinging onto false hope

      • That Dilbert picture is reminders of a childhood which turns out to be so much better than reality

  • +2

How to search just these eligible items? I would like to fill up my cart before the promo kick in.

    • Same - been eyeing off a new PC build and keen to see if there are any actual deals otherwise just screen shot the price jacking.

  • +7

Ebay is not my favourite marketplace. Amazon is.

  • Hmm, I hope this isn't a click bait event and actually has items that are wanted … or can be found.

    • +3

      I hope this isn't a click bait

Do you want the good news or the bad news…… lol

  • +9

EBay have gone downhill every since Amazon arrived.

  • +10

I have been turning to Amazon more often lately for purchases and my ebay account is sitting idle.

They really need to do site wide sales to bring the excitement back, not this "eligible items" garbage.

  • +1

21 seconds - how long most "exclusive" eBay Plus deals are available for

  • Is this going to be the same as the current 10% off deal that finishes today or will the range of eligible items be even smaller?

  • The fight for the airpods is neigh … everyone change your mouse battery, intense clicking ahead

  • +2

To be honest I felt bored when seeing Ebay deals these days. 99% of the time I always saw Jack.

  • +9

lol at everyone complaining but still upvote this?

    • -1

even if its a 1% saving…. :) we up vote because every dollar counts

    • -1

      Because we're smart 😂

    • +1

This deal is worth noting but not worth voting yet.

    • It's the new cool thing to do on OzBargain, act entitled but still take advantage of a deal.

    • Lol at people saying Ebay plus deals are crap then scrambling when a decent deal pops up.
      $99 Airpods, $1 Sodastreams etc

      • +1

For a very limited amount of quantities

      • +1

$1 sodastreams? I wish, I managed to get the $19 one on ebay plus month tho

      • +3

These Ebay limited quantities deals should really fall into the "insufficient quantity" category when one considers the supply/demand and deal exposure.

  • +1

As per usual eligible is the operative word here, they'll get my + if there are actual good deals.

  • +2

I was frustrated reading this thread as I bought a vacuum robot yesterday, but then I remembered they will increase the price before applying the discount, and the price with the discount will likely be the same or even higher than the price I've paid.

  • +5

Cheers to 21 years Ebay, because there wont be 21 more!

  • any search links?

  • +5

How is there 175 up votes already when promo hasn't even started. I bet these voters don't even buy anything from ebay.

  • +1

Price already jacked. Last week it was $35👇
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/123757738331

  • +1

The eligible items of the last few months with codes were as bad as I've even seen .
I use to be one of there biggest fans .
I pray for this one :)

  • Anyone know if Myer products are eligible products?

    • Sure is.

      • Doesn’t seem like it is

  • Can’t wait till the turn 100

    • They'll just inflate postage costs instead.

    • 100 = 10.0%, max discount $100.

  • +3

Any deals or are we back to 1000 up votes on every eBay code for no real reason?

  • +1

Yay! I love these deals! It’s always a good time to catch up with my Jack.

  • We should have a standard complaint letter that we all email to ebay everytime a sale/pricejack is announced.

  • Do the "eligible items" stay the same from promotion to promotion, or does it vary? i.e. is eligibility based on some existing property of the items, or is it redefined specifically for each new promo?

  • +1

Is Jack here yet?.JACK?? JACK??? Where are you??

  • Sonos arc at all???
Or high end iron boat ?

  • can someone please suggest a good Bluetooth earphone (preferably with cable around the neck) that is going to be on discount?
    Thanks

  • Can’t really bash their ebay plus considering ive gotten a few decent deals. Having said that I paid a dollar and wouldn’t pay full ask for plus. The only time they’re worthwhile is when they offer these sort of specials

  • +1

I hope ebay marketing or someone higher up sees this! https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/kogan-tax-time-promoti…

Kogan got fined for doing the exact same thing, I don't see how Ebay will get away with it…

    • ebay is a marketplace. They can't control the prices of each seller.

      • +1

        Plus Sellers
        • Baby Bunting
        • Bing Lee
        • City Beach
        • Dan Murphy's
        • Myer

is there a way to check if an item is eligible if you are not a Plus member? Does the discount only show if you are a member?

Mine expired a few days ago and I chose not to renew because all we get are these 'eligible items' deals which are a lot of trouble to hunt for. Back in the old days, you could do a search link, or use their own search box to find all sellers participating. Now you have to manually check every item to see if it's eligible or not which is a waste of time.

    • Just tick the eBayPlus checkbox on the left when searching, underneath Category.

However, you don't see whether an feeBay Plus item includes free express post upgrade or not (as a non-member).

No point searching feeBay Plus items, most of them are not bargains. Just wait for OZBers to post the real bargains.

      • are all ebay Plus items eligible or just some?

        • Struggle to find 1 eBay Plus item without offering free express post. So that's what feeBay decided to do to counter Amazon Prime shipping.

Since eBay Plus items offer free shipping, feeBay is funding $4 to boost it to express post. It didn't work out well for me last time. A feeBay Plus seller didn't have the item in stock, the seller express posted me something else instead. If you buy from big sellers, then should be okay. Some of these smaller sellers are dodgy and they still can sell eBay Plus.

          • @netsurfer: ok, but will every ebay plus item have 21% off or just some?

It's been a couple of years since ebay switched to "eligible items". Do we have a solution for finding these eligible items yet, or do you still have to check them all one by one?

            • @lostn: Just post what you're after at 10am. I'm sure someone here will help you out.

    • I'm in the exact same boat as you, ebay plus lapsed but I want to know whether the coupon will work on some specific items before I sign up again.

Truly don't understand why they wouldn't have a 'this would only cost $$$ if you had ebay plus and used coupon XXX' as an incentive to join… so broken.

If you do work out how to check if something is eligible as a non-plus member please let me know!

  • hoping theres a nice TV deal in there

  • Bots, get ready for tomorrow!!

  • +3

Usual eligible items only usually big franchises. Ebay as a 2nd hand marketplace is dying by corporate

    • +2

They lost to Amazon a while ago…

      • +1

2nd hand marketplace, Amazon is more popular?
The fees on Amazon are high and wasn't aware Amazon is easy to sign up for casual sellers.

        • Is love to see ebay give 21% off second hand items….. don't think it's happening

    • Volume is too low for 2nd hand items. These promotions are attempts to boost revenue (because that's what shareholders care most). Brand new items generate more revenue. It's basically maths trick. That's why no love for small sellers.

  • 21% off selected sellers, which usually excludes everyone I want to buy from ebay still have about 4 months to convince me to renew + membership I don't hold out much hope of this happening

  • +2

So sad I'm going miss their 100th bday ;(

    • nooooooo

donate your brain to a vat. They will get frozen, and when they figure out how to attach what's left of you to a robot, you'll be able to come back and live forever.

It's only 79 more years. Don't give up hope. We might figure out life extension by then. Life expectancy is naturally increasing every year.

      • The human body has its limits, once you live past that you'll encounter more severe diseases and ailments e.g. Cancer. Death is guaranteed, accept it :)

        • -1

Cancer is a modern malady, from all the toxins we consume and surrounded ourselves with (and from shunning away the microorganisms that save us).

  • +3

Wish these were not allowed where it’s not clear what the deal is.
