Just saw this at Target Sefton Park SA. Clearance Nintendo DS Lite Console only $99.88. They had a few in both Black and Pink.
Yes, I know it's older tech, but seems like pretty good value if your DS needs are simple.
I'm guessing other Target stores may also have stock; ring around.

If you don't mind getting it from eBay and having it shipped from overseas, it's ~$90 for a new one and you get to choose your color.
Personally, I didn't care about whether it was used or not, so I got a second hand one for $60 a few months back.

If I'm not mistaken the ds is region locked therefore you can only play games from the region where the ds originated from.
i have a ds lite and can confirm its not region-locked. i think you're referring to the 3ds.

I wouldn't risk it. There are a ton of fake DS consoles being sold from China on Ebay.
You can only go so far with "fake" consoles lmao. I purchased a yellow ds lite from china about a year ago after having my white ds lite finally die. It was obvious as soon as I took it out of the packaging the quality of the housing was different. But other than that it's still chugging along fine. From what I can tell the ones you get from china/ebay were original ds lites that were sent back for repair but a few things happened a long the way and they ended up in an ebay sellers store ;)
But we can buy DSi from Myer few days ago, which makes this deal not eye catching at all.
I like the DSi, but the DS Lite has the Gameboy Advance slot that opens it up to a library of awesome games.
But I imagine they are all pretty much sold out. Anyone know where there still may be stock?

Yeppum. IPhone 4. I usually do a better job of it. Gave it a simple crop and sharpen. Never noticed the blue blob before. Pretty evil.
they have the Guitar hero pack at Bigw for $128. includes the silver DS console and the game. Not sure if thats a bargain

Sorry. Bigw Auburn NSW had the DS lite Guitar hero for $128 late week I saw them. not sure if they are still there.
DS Lite is enough for a 7 years old kid, and there is no need for other applications but just gaming on a console. And it is not good idea to let your children to play 3D games, it really gets our eyes tired.

If you had the choice between a DSi and DSLite both at $100, which one would u buy?
The good thing about the DS Lite is that the battery lasts longer, and it has a Gameboy Advance slot… the DSi doesn't have that. :( I went for the Lite for the kids as they don't care about flashy graphics so I can pick them up cheap GBA games off Ebay :D
I like the bigger screens of the XL though, but damn you Nintendo for getting rid of the GBA slot on all the newer models! (DSi, XL, 3DS)
