        • They're ellipses

      • So have you received it? Or you have ordered it and it is coming?

    • They have single sim too which is Korean snapdragon variant. That's what the seller told me and they don't stock exnos variant.

      • How about 5G mmW,.. if its possible to check at all since we don't have 5G mmW in Australia,.. well only at trial sites if your lucky to be near one were ever they are,. not sure if any setting in phone could say anything?

        • I live in regional NSW so no 5g here. There is a forum in xda which says 5g is locked and can't be used.

          • @Cmaz: second SIM should be ok for 5G

  • +1

    I can't afford it. But it's a Snapdragon.

  • +1

You should at least provide 2 year warranty to match Samsung for peace of mind. Otherwise good to see Snapdragon version in Australia. Might buy one for my partner if 2 year warranty is provided.

    • +1

      Use credit card insurance

      • -2

I do. But it only adds 1 year. If the seller provides 2 i will get total 3 years and that's how long I usually keep a phone.

        • +1

What's up with all the neg votes? Did I say anything wrong?

    • +1

Isn't local warranty 3 years these days? Since the plans are giving 3 years, that would be my accc expectation.

  • SD865+!!! I'll wait when its 1200ish though. My iPhone XR still works perfectly. +1 for making it $100 cheaper than your ebay store.

  • Wondering how much would Galaxy fold 2 be?

    It has local warranty

    • Speculated in US to be USD 1999 so it's a whopper of a price

    • $2999 AUD

  • +2

Can I buy this and apply Samsung care 2 years device exchange?

  • The SD chip is great to play Switch games on. lol..

  • +1

I know it's grey stock but wondering if it comes with an Aussie invoice for tax purposes?

    • It should. Aussie store

    • Gst is charged at custom given this is over $1000

      • You're buying from an australian retailer with ABN, GST is charged on the item price.

        • I bought RM5G from Aliexprees $1100 the seller sent $400 invoice πŸ˜…πŸ€£

      • -3

Bahaha what has this got to do with customs and import duty?

        • I'm asking about tax invoice for the purposes of tax deduction for work not for gst/trs purposes

          • @EnergicAU: Yeh a tax invoice is a tax invoice. You can use it in anyway you want and as this is a aussie store therefore have a abn they would be registered for gst and need to supply you with one. Ignore the guy thays talking about customs, they're a bit confused

        • -2

From my experience buying a CPAP machine from America which was over AU$1000 mined you by $7,.. the sender or in my situation the courier which I used shopmate (owned by Australia Post as the seller doesn't post directlyto Australia) needs to declare the item (since its over AU$1000), anyway im sure it will be MyMobile the senders responsibility to declare on your behalf and since gst is included in price theyll need to show too Australian customs that gst was taken out of price my guess also they need too pay the gst to Australian customs on your behalf

If OP MyMobile (sender) you could calirfy this as what will happen we will end up paying gst twice buying this item? GST included in price and again by Australian customs once it arrives into Australia

          • @Italkdigital: I think they ship from their warehouse in Australia and it's only grey because it's imported in.

A whole different answer to my question but shopmate makes you declare and pay gst even on return items. Eg I bought something from BHPhoto and warranty is only in the US so needed to return a faulty item and Google only ships to US as it was a US item. It was a USB cable and i still had to put a nominal amount and they don't allow for non gst even though it's technically no value.

            • -1

@EnergicAU: oh ok if shipped from there Australian warehouse then of course its not going to go through customs and gst paid once included the price of the Note 20

Yeah funny CPAP machines under Australian customs are actually GST free as its listed as a medical device, which I've explained to shopmate

Anyway I used shopmates option 3 were i deal with customes myself when it arrives in Australia,.. the other options shopmate provides,.. is shopmate deals with customes on my behalf but a cost of around $200,… to me a big rip off, funny non of this mentioned on there website πŸ‘Ž

not cause of the headache with customes (as this will happen with any item over AU$1000) but I won't use them again as postage is expensive and they don't consolidate different orders, I couldve bought items of eBay US and enjoy a free ride to offset the expensive postage, postage including insurance gonna cost me around $200

From an Ozbargain post might try out ustooz.com "US to OZ", a lot cheaper and they consolidate different orders
              https://ozb.me/o/Y67?u=tw

I wonder if your experience is cause of shopmate is an Australian owned by Australia post, wonder the same will apply with other US based courier forwarding companies

edit: just too note I've bought stuff from China value under AU$1000 through Alibaba, I think cost around AU$400 for one 5G portable modem, one 4G home router and couple small items and the items arrived in around 13 days and didn't hear anything from Australian customs, don't know why luck of draw, maybe covid situation from China or customs were too busy too bother or under staffed, not complaining πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘

Wow 3:30am here,.. this Ozbargain site is starting to get very addictive lolz πŸ€‘πŸ€ͺπŸ˜ƒ

  • +2

Thanks OP, looking to buy 2. But wondering in the current lockdown, how long will they be delivered to VIC?

    • +1

      They r saying 10 days

  • +2

Imagine foregoing local warranty for 15% performance increase.

    • -1

performance is not the biggest difference in daily use.

it is the one hour less screen on time matters most

      • And also the SD version takes better selfies. And I think it will run the Google Camera App which does not smooth out the skin as much in selfies.

    • +2

Imagine getting a flagship crippled by a second grade processor.

      • +2

Imagine paying flagship prices for a supposedly flagship phone with a second grade processor

    • 16%

    • We have to consider the probability of having an issue with the device. Even if it was the same Exynos phone, that's still tempting. I don't like Samsung but I would definitely consider buying from them if I wanted this phone.

I've only had to claim warranty for a phone once in my life.

It seems that you have to send the device to their Australian store, not HK, which is reassuring. For a $500 difference, I'd say that might worth taking the risk, particular if the credit card adds 12 months to the initial warranty.

    • Imagine paying equal money for a subpar phone? Now imagine paying much less for a better performing phone.

  • Does anyone know can you flash the Australian XSA firmware on this SD version to turn the phone into a "local" version?

    • +1

Good question. I believe the answer would be no.

    • No. There are post in xda u can refer to.

  • +1

Give us Xperia 1 ii deal!!!

    • -1

Doesn't seem to be a flagship device tbh

      • Can you think of a another phone that has a colour accurate 6.5" 21:9 4K HDR OLED display, 20 FPS burst mode with continuous autofocus and a larger image sensor with ZEISS optics?

        • +3

Photographer here, while ZEISS is a household name for amazing optics, they have basically whored out their branding to the point it doesnt mean much tbh.

albeit, I am definitely wanting this to be a great phone.

        • Their selling point camera underperform than its competitors

      • +1

        Certainly don't have flagship-level marketing.

      • Flagship is just a label people put on it to sell you devices. Utterly meaningless, look at One Plus' slogan "Flagship killer" like what does that even mean.

What are you priorities? I have mine and there is no other phone like the Xperia 1 ii, the pro camera app is simply ahead of all competitors in what you can produce.

        • I want xperia 1 ii as well, but may aim for a cheaper smaller xperia 5 ii. Like u i want the camera feature and i don't game only a casual user. But i too agree, i don't believe in zeiss or leica brand on mobile camera. Still regards them in the serious photography lenses tho.

        • Can you please tell from where can you import and does it work fine in Australia and pros and cons of xperia. Xperia used to have a good market share but not anymore, but phone looks good

  • -1

Doesn't this model has camera condensation defect? Why do people still buying this.

I think it's best to avoid shop warranty especially with high return product

  • do we have to pay extra import tax on these?

    • -2

      Gst yes

    • as someone replied too my same question these are sent from there Australian warehouse so is sent directly too you and gst is already included in the price,.. so no you don't pay any extra πŸ‘

OP your certainly welcome too confirm this maybe place something in your description,.. since grey import is mentioned why it can get confusing were its sent from πŸ‘πŸ€‘

  • Would Samsung Pay work on this? Isn't Samsung Pay region locked?

    • I cant say for this phone.

      I have mentioned above that:
I have a usa version of note9 and samsung pay does still work. The ads and streamed content are us based. When you add a credit card they ask for a 5 digit postcode. I just add a preceding 0.

      • seen stories might be different situation for the Snapdragon Note 20 I guess if anyone has one of these in Australia could test this to make sure πŸ‘

  • How is this lower price than Australian stock? Are we getting that bad a deal locally?

    • +1

      Snapdragon 865+ vs Exynos 990…

      https://youtu.be/XU52BmNR8q4

    • Samsung Education Store is about $1590 with $50 coupon so $1550 … not too hard to find a school student to grab one

      • -1

That was my original plan as my old uni email still works for access. But I think I'll take the risk with the SD and see how things go

      • $1540?

Buy paying more for a worse phone… More likely to drop it than to have a 'factory defect' right? Buy a better case or insurance with that money. Just my 2c

        • The 512GB version is cheaper than my EPP price. Even with the 50 dollar coupon.

  • Any chance of ever extending to two years of warranty?

    • you'll just pay more

  • +1

Does this have any foreign network branding?

  • +9

Wouldn't be able to tell we're in the middle of a recession by the number of people pulling the trigger on a $1500 phone here!

    • Yeeep, it’s got to start crumbling soon, save you money

      • Or buy stuff that won't depreciate since we all know how safe the AUD is… No I don't mean hyper-inflation or the gov defaulting, we're just super volatile.

    • +1

I was on the website as soon as this deal was posted and it was showing "98 units left". Now it's 94. So only 4 units sold, despite the 100+ upvotes

    • Wait till you see what happens when the iPhone 12 comes out soon.

    • wait a year or so price usually prices drop to half or more saying that I want one though i can't afford though that didn't stop me getting a 512gb Note 9 when it came out, I'm trying my best too stretch her out lolz

I'm just annoyed with the Note 20 Ultra you can't have 120hz refresh rate at 1440p

      • I'm just annoyed with the Note 20 Ultra you can't have 120hz refresh rate at 1440p

You got the exynos processor to thank for that since the tab s7+ with snapdragon 865+ can do 120hz refresh rate at 1440p.

    • +1

thought that was what jobseeker/job keeper was for? Or withdrawing from your super?

  • a prepaid user like me can forget 5g for next 2 years as its only available for postpaid for now

    • -3

If you can't offered postpaid why bother but you have the right attitude saving money i shall try to follow lolz

  • +1

Isn't the SD version only comes in 128gb and 512gb?

    • That's the US version. The version they sell in Korea is 256 and 512. I find it interesting that the Koreans get the SD version but we get the Exynos.

      • -1

Because even the Koreans were complaining that they were getting the inferior cpu with the exynos.

  • Wish someone is selling brand new Japanese edition of Note 20 Ultra, which can use osaifu (e-money/Suica).

  • +2

Am on a note 8. It's been amazing. Was going to go for a note 10 plus but they're still $1100. Don't know where this talk of them halving in price comes from. For $1500 and the snapdragon processor this is a good deal - as the up votes show. Going for it

  • -1

    Upvoted Google Play

  • -4

Which iPhone 12 is this? the Pro or the regular

    • +5

It's the Galaxy Note Ultra 12 Pro Max.

      • +1

        This made my day haha

  • Samsung would be happy. People still buying their phone but they don’t have to worry about local warranty

    • Or idiots bought into the hype of a few second opening app time or a bit more SOT which is highly variable anyway…

      • +2

If it were only that. Then the problem won't be so bad. However the exynos was being reported to run hotter thus resulting in thermal throttling.

Then there's the battery which drains quicker on the exynos which means you would have to charge more often. There's only a finite amount of charge cycles in the battery and the more you have to recharge it the quicker it will deteriorate.

But hey them idiots just want to open an app a few seconds quicker. Not because people want to pay for equal performing device.

Here is the kicker. The snapdragon 865+ cpu can do 120hz at 1440p (tab s7+ is proof) but because exynos 990 can't do it. So naturally the sd variant had to be crippled or the divide with the exynos variant will widen even more.

  • I had previously ruled out any Samsungs due to the Exynos processors, as I assumed any of the Snapdragon models would've had 4G band issues since they're not designed for Oz/Europe.
However, from the other comments and some of my own research, it looks like that is not an issue with this model.
Is there anything I should be worried about with purchasing this model from this seller? I understand warranty might be a bit riskier. Are there any other things I might not be aware of that would make this purchase unwise or riskier as compared to say an Oppo Find X2 Pro or the global version of the OnePlus 8 Pro?

  • Can I get volte and vowifi with Boost on this sd865+ model?

  • -4

Is it really 5x better than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro?

  • Does anyone know if you still get software and security updates with this phone?

    • +1

should and when Hong Kong receives there updates as this is a Hong Kong variant, Updates are down country by country as if it was down worldwide the Samsung servers wouldn't be able too handle it

Though love someone to confirm this πŸ˜ƒ
