On Ebay they have same phone about $120 more expensive

because listing on ebay is not free.

      • Tnx

  • Ordered a Bronze Note 20 Ultra 2 days. Now the waiting game. Hopefully all goes smoothly

    • I think you won't get your phone before 5th October. I'm still waiting mine on 'Express shipping'.

      • Oh damn, when did you order yours?

        • Ok. Let me guide you through.
I ordered on 16th Aug around 12pm. Took them 2 days 18 Aug to send the order to their HK warehouse.
After 6 days (24 Aug) arrived in Brisbane store and I just got the tracking from Auspost today 5pm saying will come on Monday.
Hopefully it will come on Monday but it takes approximately 12 days to get your phone. I'm in Vic btw.

          • @oyespek: I see i see, thanks for that. Not too bad, as long as I get it within 3 weeks lol. Hope you get it Monday too

          • @oyespek: Hmm I ordered on the 14th Sept, now 28th Sept and no phone yet. I'm in VIC too.

            • @cortex: Really? I thought the phone will come today but no luck. Hopefully it will come tomorrow since I cannot wait anymore. Did you get the tracking number?

  • Hi,

I am planning to buy Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Hong Kong version with Snapdragon 865+ variant in Australia. I have few queries.

    1. Will this imported version work fine in Australia? Especially with 4g and 5g network? Will there be any issue?
    2. Will I be able to use Samsung pay in Australia?

Could someone who purchased HK Snapdragon variant confirm?

    • +1

I received mine yesterday and have had no issues with it. I don't have a 5G mobile plan but from other comments it seems the Snapdragon 865+ supports most common 5G frequencies but maybe not a couple of the carrier specific ones. The phone itself definitely supports 5G since it has the option to enable it in the settings.

4G is working fine (I'm with Aldi who uses the Telstra wholesale network) and I was able to set up multiple payment cards with Samsung pay despite it not being the Australian version of the app. Just one thing to note is the "Loyalty cards" you can add are foreign, although you can still manually add any cards you want so it's not really an issue.

Also if anyone is wondering, it comes with the USB-C AKG earphones as well as the clear case in the box.

        Hi Ozhunt,

Thanks for the prompt reply that was really helpful! I can see that you are able to add Australian bank cards in Samsung pay which is great. Have you tried using Samsung pay at a payment terminal? Just wanted to see if that works. I know we can still use Google pay, but i will be using Galaxy watch which only supports Samsung pay. Thanks.

Please let me know if someone has encountered any other issues. Thanks.

        • Samsung Pay works fine. Been using it since I got my phone and no issues.

          • @Menzoberranzan: Are you sure Note 20 ultra you bought is N9860 variant? I confirmed with my mobile and they told me Samsung pay will not work.

            • +1

@BuyNow o RegretLater: I am very sure as my About Phone is showing the model number as SM-N9860 and I have successfully added my ANZ card and used it 3 times at Coles with no issues.

              • @Menzoberranzan: Ohh that’s surprisingly great👍🏻. Is this the case with other note 20 ultra users as well? Could someone please confirm if they can use Samsung Pay using commbank card?

  • Please let me know if anyone else has encountered any other issues from Galaxy Note 20 Ultra HK version. Thanks.

    • Can't connect to 5g with the phone on Telstra. No luck since turning it in for the first time.

      • Hi Kaviar,

Thanks for letting me know about your issue. As far as i know, 5g is still not available in some areas in Australia? You can check your Telstra 5g coverage on their website.
        https://www.telstra.com.au/coverage-networks/our-coverage

Have you tried using Samsung pay by any chance?

        • +1

Hey it's definitely a phone thing. Put the Sim in another 5g capable phone and works ok. I hear it could be firmware related and the phones have a bri software version which could indicate its from Taiwan rather then hk? Doing more research on it now

          • @Kaviar: Hmm that’s a bummer and i believe you can’t even change the firmware and install Aus firmware. Samsung won’t help here as well. All you can do is go to Taiwan or HK and go to Samsung store and ask them to install Aus firmware. Apparently there is no hack to install firmware on SD variant.

Did you order note 20 ultra “N9860”?

        • If you can confirm that the model number is indeed SM-N9860 then 5G should work by looking at the bands supported by the phone and telco 5G bands. Have a look at these two links.

First from expansys detailing 5G bands supported by this model

          https://www.expansys.com.au/samsung-galaxy-note20-ultra-5g-d…

Second from Whirlpool about telcos 5G coverage

          https://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/mobile_phone_frequencies

          • +1

@Ozzie15: Yep N9860. Looks like it could be locked due to the firmware of the phone even though it has 5g bands 3500

    • did you try both SIM slots?

      • +1

Have you heard of the stores able to flash to Aus firmware? Thought that could brick the phone?

Yep have the n9860 and tried on both Sim slots and not working on either. Heard some reports of it working on Sim slot 2 but 4g on both for me.

Not a huge issue as 4g works great and fast. Worth it for Snapdragon and speed/battery life

        • As far as i am aware it is not possible to flash SD version. However, you can still flash Exynos version.

        • Just ashame that Samsung indirectly forced us to choose either 4G or exynos. I decided to buy a used exynos note 10 plus 5g to test 5g speed. I won't use the phone for gaming or heavy tasks, mainly for browsing, take pictures and occasionally edit photographs (light room mobile). Will i tell the cpu difference? Anyway, i m aiming for Sony experia 1 II when the price comes down. Thanks.

  • So did anyone actually get there phones from these guys and were they working as intended apart from the Samsung pay and 5g capability with some carriers.

    • +2

Have had the phone for a bit over a week now with no issues. Have always used Google Pay and 5g doesn't offer any real benefit over 4g at this point in time for my usage so neither of those issues mattered to me anyway. Absolutely love the phone, my partner is jealous.

      • -1

So 5g is working? .. which carrier? .. others are reporting that 5g is not working.

  • Can anyone who has received theirs confirm that no voltage converter is required for charging the phone? Hong Kong voltage close enough to ours?

    • +1

No converter required, just need an adapter for the plug. When I picked mine up from the store they threw one in for me but it was rubbish, the pins were too thin or something so it wouldn't stay plugged in. But I had another adapter at home anyway.

    • It's not the 1990s you know … When did you last see a phone adapted that was 110 volts only?

  • Price has gone up to $1536 + $35 delivery for all the 256gb models. OP may need to adjust title.

  • Are these guys legit? Was thinking of buying a Note 20 ultra through these guys. Any help would be appreciated as I don't want to buy the Exynos model.

    • As I mentioned, no issues with mine. Picked it up from their store in Brisbane. Great phone, won't regret it.

  • Who had received their orders? How long did it take in total?

    • Not yet. Ordered on 25th

    • Took like 7 days, but I picked mine up from the store once it arrived from HK.

  • Just received my tracking info but when I enter it into auspost I get this message: Tracking number XXXXXXXXXX might be incorrect or not in our system yet. Should I be concerned?

    • May update in sometime.

  • Ordered on 22nd September, received today(2nd October). Not happy with Auspost, they just left it on my doorstep.Didn't even bother knocking on door.

    • I got mine today too, Ordered on the 23rd. I had to pick it up from the post depo cause was not home to receive it. Your delivery guy must of been dodgy

    • How is the phone? Are you able to connect to 5g?

    • How is the phone? Are you able to connect to 5g?

      • I'm not on a 5G service(boost) so I can't shed any light on that.

        • Looks like there is a screen protector already installed which is a bonus.

      • Phone is amazing, i dont have a 5g service either.

  • To the guys that ordered and have received there phones, was it through the mymobile.com.au website?

    • Yes it was

    • Yes

  • Anyone upgrade this from Note 10 plus? I normally upgrade my Note series every year, but don't worth upgrading this year.

  • Can anyone comment on the battery life of the Note 20 Ultra?

    • Noticeably worse than every other phone that I have ever used.. but it has wireless charging so I don't care .. and I love that it is thin and lighter compared to having a bigger battery

      • Even note 20 ultra’s snapdragon 865+ model?

        • Battery life has been good for me in my short time using compared to the old phone I was switching from. I would be able to last a day off a full charge easily. I may not be classified as a heavy user though…

  • +1

I ordered on 25th and still no tracking nr. Is this normal?

    • Don't think so, I ordered on the 23, got confirmation of order on 24 and tracking 7 days later. Phone came in 3 days after got tracking. So 10 days total

    • Today is the 6th business day since I placed my order and still no tracking number just sent to warehouse. How long after you ordered did yours arrive? Thanks in advance.

  • +1

Received this model a week ago. I'm with Telstra postpaid and can confirm that 5G does not work. Max is 4G +. Not coverage issue as I get 5G in my S10. Pretty misleading and regret the purchase. Phone only getting 6 hours screen on time. Not worth the hassle of importing. Would rather the S20 FE.

    • Hmm that’s not good. I was going to order one. If 5g doesn’t work its a waste.

      • I still don't really see the appeal of 5G at this point in time. What are you doing with your phone that you need speeds faster than 4G? Unless it's a congestion issue I guess.

  • 5g not working on my phone either, I'm with Optus

  • Do we know why the 5g does not work? It should. Based on the 5g bands it has. I have a telstra 5g tower and also an optus 5g tower 400 metres from home so hoped it would be usable. It is band 78 for both carriers. Have these users who can't get 5g to connect confirmed what band their towers are? The App called Australian Phone Towers will tell you what the nearby tower frequencies are. Of course Vodafone have almost none. You need to be on a quite expensive plan to use telstra 5g. At the moment there is no prepaid service allowed.
