You will need to check with Amazon customer service. I contacted them today and they advised that I didn’t qualify for release day shipment.
I ordered ~45 minutes after amazon launched.
I couldn't get any indication on date. It's a bit scummy of Amazon to sell this as a preorder without advising whether you have jumped onto a release day allocation or potentially much later.
So I pre ordered on amazon au and it said release date 12th however when I check my order it says
''We'll email you when we have a delivery date
We’ll ship your order as soon as possible
This usually happens when an item doesn’t have a release date, it’s pre-ordered, or it’s out of stock.''
So I contracted their support and they say ''This order isn't eligible for release date delivery.
However, we are trying our best to get them stocked ASAP from manufacturer and deliver it to the customers who've pre-ordered on the release date it self.
Once the order is shipped we will email'' and than they said ''Because on the order page it doesn't show the release date delivery.'' and ''It looks like the supplier has removed it from release date delivery as they are unable to stock items before that date''
So im confused was this delayed or are they unsure?

PS5 release date is 12th Nov, not 14th. Sounds like they can't confirm launch day/week/batch delivery. Seems reasonable due to high demand and apparent low supply.

Do you have Prime? The accessories are currently release date delivery so would assume console was too, up to a certain order point (say allocated 1,000 units or whatever) and everything after that is first come, first serve deliveries. Currently all retailers globally unclear on stock availability to difficult to give you precise delivery if you aren't one of the confirmed launch day orders.
@Rukiata: Apparently you should choose "expedited shipping" for release day delivery…specifically Amazon say:
Choose Expedited Delivery to get it by the release date. Orders with Priority delivery or Residential Express Delivery won't arrive by the release date.
Not sure if this applies to the PS5 or XSX though..

@Rukiata: I know, it doesn't make much sense to me either but it's pretty explicit. If anything, you might get it by the 13th with priority shipping (delivery partner permitting)
There is an embargo that they can not ship out till the day (12th) the console is released. JB has the same problem as well as EB, that's why JB told all customers to select Click and Collect.
Amazon dispatches stuff early morning (checking e-mails 2AM, 3AM, 4:30 AM etc) for delivery that day so I don't think that's the issue. It's a confirmed stock availability issue.
Are you sure that's applicable to the PS5 and not the Xbox Series?

My series X has a delivery date of the 12th, this is because of the embargo of not being able to ship out till the 10th. PS5 order is awaiting stock allocation as amazon still don't know how many exactly they will have

@Thunder-Wombat: Neither have said a date for me, they went from "Preorder" to "Delivery Date Pending". It could be that Amazon might not be receiving the amount they were originally allocated during the preorders and orders now with "Delivery Date Pending" are possibly a second shipment after launch.
I'm hoping this isn't the case, but it's weird that some people have received a delivery date and others haven't.

Do you have a guarantee with EB Games you are part of the first shipment? If yes, I would cancel the Amazon preorder and go with them. Even if you will have to wait a few days to receive it, it is nothing compared to what you already waited or what you would have waited if you got one from the next shipment.
Safest is, of course, keeping both orders and dealing with a hassle of selling one or returning it.

Yes, EB Games at least mentioned while ordering for post-launch that it could be up to 31 December, as it seems there is no post-launch release dates, but it should be this year? As for Amazon, I'm not sure if they advertised whether the order was launch or post-launch, so I think that could be pot-luck.
I just wish PlayStation would advertise when their post-launch release date was! Not mentioning the post-post launch release date which is sometime in 2021.
i went on amazon's customer support page just now and when i select my ps5 preorder it says "Not yet shipped (shipment 1)". im assuming that means a launch delivery (or shortly after launch maybe). can anyone else confirm?

Yeah I noticed that on mine too haha but then, after looking at some of my other orders, I noticed that when Amazon ship items separately from they same order they label them as shipment 1, 2…completely unrelated to PS5/XSX "shipments".
For what it's worth, I ordered mine at 10:37am (disc ed.) and my order simply says "Order Received" (once I've clicked on track package) and that they'll email me when they have an estimated delivery date. I contacted them the other day and they said I should receive it within 2 days of release date. Not sure if it's a generic response to pre-orders but take that as you will.

Not sure about JB, but EBGames has been calling people that have a preorder for launch to clarify who and when they were going to pick up the PS5 on 12 November, which is pretty good of them. Apparently they are worried that people will come in and pretend to pick up someone else's order.
Yep, got a call from EB Games, confirming launch day pickup from 7AM.
There's a trade-in week 3-9th Nov where you get double bonus credit (i.e. Level 2 +10% bonus becomes +20%) and recommended to trade in PS4 Pro then.
If you do so and clear balance before 12th Nov, you get fast-pass access to pick-up PS5 straight away on launch with minimal delay.
Console was ordered through JB Direct so t won’t show on your JB orders. You’ll have an email with an order number that starts with JBD.

Just went onto chat with Amazon and recieved an update as for when PS5 will be shipped and delivered. Chat said that it is not delayed and will be sent on launch day the 12th with delivery expected by the 16th.
My hope is that they have to say that for appearances and they'll actually ship ahead.
I feel like a lot of Amazon's customer service team are super uninformed and just spout default canned responses.
In other words, your CS rep might have just fed you the line they use for all pre-ordered stock.

My guess would be they'll ship separately, but it depends on a number of variables. Impossible to say for sure.

Hello! I got the email informing me that I have the stock in October however I was wondering if anyone else has gotten their console shipped or the money taken out of their account? I seldom order from Amazon but I was wondering if this is normal because it seems very peculiar that it is 2 days before launch and I haven't even gotten as much as a shipping date.
My order status is the same as yours. They don't take money until they actually ship it, and the order will not update until there is some change on it, so it will update only once they ship it.
In theory, updating your address or payment method should trigger the order refresh and show a correct date, but I wouldn't risk touching the order.
Judging by Amazon's approach with the Series X pre-orders, I think we're going to get our PS5 pre-orders at the earliest a day later.
Looks like Amazon is starting to get ready to ship PS5's out. My order says 'Not Yet Shipped' but updated to say that it's arriving Monday. Also recieved this email:
