        • hmmm. might just go ahead and pre-order through Big W then i guess.

  • +2

    Big W have stock available

  • Just pre-ordered the Digital Edition using ZipPay.

I assume it's only $50 back for Zip or $30 credit. Not both? Either way its not a bad price. I swapped to only buying digital games a couple years ago.

Although i will get Series X as its a much more powerful console than the digital edition Series S.

    • +1

$50 to Zip account, $30 to Amazon account.

      • Wow so effectively only $520 for a next gen console. Very good deal. Was happy with $550 to be honest.

  • +4

dont wait for zip pay account. secure your pre-order now and edit the payment method later.

    • Yeah. Should of did that. slaps head against desk

    • Order now regrets later.

Oh sorry too late, almost every shops has sold out.

    • +2

HOW did I not think of this?? I must be some real kind of idiot.

      • Cats are not idiot. Shame on you!

        :p

  • -1

It seems like many of us got jebaited by Zip Pay.

Amazon have the Digital only version still available.

  • -1

remember to use zip referral - for extra $10 pm if you need referral link…not to sure why referrals aren't showing on this deal.

  • -2

I'm negging this deal because Amazon and Zip Pay should have ensured their systems worked before having this promotion.

    • Agreed. The mixed messaging about eligibility requirements (i.e. whether use of Amazon credit would invalidate the $50 cashback) also didn't help.

  • Still here for RRP: https://www.harveynorman.com.au/playstation-5.html?utm_source=email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=HNAU-4894_PS5_17092020%20(1)&utm_content=&spMailingID=3727767&spUserID=Nzc5MzIyMTg0ODQS1&spJobID=1320211061&spReportId=MTMyMDIxMTA2MQS2

    • Go Gerry goooo! ;)

      Edit: Gone Gerry gone

  • Hello guys, Just booked the diogital edition using zippay,
They have'nt deducted any amount from my Zippay account yet. Any reason why not? Or they are going to charge when they dispatch the console?

    • I believe your Zip account will only be charged when the order is fulfilled. So make sure you have enough credit available between now and the 18th of Nov.

      • Can I cancel order before that and not get charged if I change my mind?

        • You can cancel before they charge you, without any cancellation fees etc.. normal Amazon cancellation policy applies.

  • I waited for Zip… and missed out!!!

    booo……

    • +1

I think the digital edition is still available mate
Yes, Just checked digital variant is available

  • Sony still has some available $749+ Free shipping

    https://store.sony.com.au/playstation-5/PLAYSTATION5W.html?c…

    • 2% cash back with Shopback.

  • +8

I'm going to wait for a black PS5 to come out. I don't like the white

  • +2

I would wait for a year at minimum when Sony has this console matured with titles

But then it would be under $600

  • A question for Zip Pay in general - never used them or any BNPL service before.

It says I have $350 credit. Do I have to apply to get the $1k limit in order to purchase the PS5? Therefore giving them my job/income history? I have the money to purchase this as it stands right now, can I just not deposit the money into my Zip account like I would a Paypal acount? I am very confused.

    • Based on the comments above you will need to have a sufficient credit limit in your Zip Pay account to make the purchase, topping up your account will not increase the credit limit.

I think you can change the payment method to a card if you modify the order.

      • Cheers.

    • Hi pharcyde, Mac from Zip here. We periodically assess accounts for credit limit increases and will offer it to you when you qualify. You can't just deposit extra money in to your Zip account unfortunately.

      • Thanks mate.

      • Hey i need some help
, what if I pay 500 weekly than change it next week to lower? is there any fees and will i get the 50 cash back? also when do we get the cashback

  • Lucky I rushed it without too much thinking. Got one. Can always cancel beforehand

  • Currently unavailable

  • I was able to do the Zip Pay Link about 5 mins ago. Took around 2 hours and a half for that to work… weird…

  • What's the probability that it will open up for another pre-order?

    • +2

I'd say it's almost certain. I've found that Amazon don't always put 100% of stock on offer at the start, they like to stagger it. Keeps people re-checking the website constantly and I guess perhaps buying other things out of boredom.

      • Yep. However it seems like it will be constantly selling out each time they take on more orders.

    https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2020/09/14/cloud-gaming-with-xbo…

If you have family members who like to play coop, and you hate sharing screens, you can play with family members on the android gamepass, and Xbox and pc at the same time, 3 family members playing together.

Fallout 76, destiny 2, gears 5 one Vs one death match.

No screen sharing, all accessable under one gamepass account, as long as the payee account is running or logged in, other accounts can play together for authentication reasons.

You can't do that on ps5.

LMAO digital version still in stock… No ones buying that at all?

    • +3

Terrible value, everyone knows the disc version will break even quickly

      • Umm, what?
        Dont understand about the breaking….

For me, i almost never buy disc so am happy to save the $150 (if there is on average $20 a game difference btw disc and digital, thats still almost 8 games until im ahead).

Will also be interesting to see if the discless is quieter,…

        • +1

Just like you said (8 games or however much) + u can sell/share them

        • +2

He means "break even" - often disc versions are cheaper and/or have sales more often. You also get the choice of buying among different retailers when they have a "sale"

Digital you can only buy directly off the PS Store, and is usually more expensive than the likes of JB/Amazon/Big W for disc versions.

So in the long run, you are more likely to "break even" or even save more by going with the disc version.

You also have the best of both worlds - with the disc version, you can still buy digital should you choose to do so.

        • +1

I think it's more like a $40 difference. Disc games generally releases at $59 and the online RRP is $99.

        • I've gone all in on digital as of maybe 2 years ago. Sales online tend to minimise the price difference and digital has the added benefit of being able to use one copy on 2 consoles at the same time.

I probably wont have a second PS5 for a long time. But any PS4 games linked to my account should be playable on the PS4 and PS5 at same time. With kids I think digital is better value.

    • +1

Beside the perk of trading game disc, you can watch 4K movie disc. 150 is not worth in the long run.

      • +1

there is ZERO chance i will watch any 4k movies on disc
        Streaming or nothing personally…

      • +1

I bought the disc version to use as part of a home cinema setup or at least have the option to watch UHD blurays with surround sound speakers.

Digital surround audio on Netflix etc.. is compressed so it wont ever beat the sound quality on offer via Bluray.

  • Got one with digital edition, thanks.
Took so long to get zip linked!

  • Just signed up to Zip to use this deal. Bought the console (discless) and then went to change my payment method but cant add ZIP (not registered to that mobile).
Might need to wait a day…

  • Amazon finally let me add Zip Pay to my payment methods. Now there is no stock of the PS5 :/

    • +5

Why must a truthful situation be negged?

    • I balance it for you mate. I agree with your sentiment

I've refrained from advising people to save their money, xbox is better

  • -6

Console players generally slower in the head, no need for disk reading these days

  • Can anyone confirm if changing my payment to Zip Pay will still get me the $50 cash back? I called Amazon and was told it would, but I honeslty feel like they didn't understand what I was asking.

    • why wouldnt it? no one's zip account has been charged yet.

      • It said something like 'only eligible if purchased using Zip between 17th and 25th of September' (can't find the exact quote now as the page is gone) but seeing as it won't get charged until release day I'm not sure how they'd track that?

        • They look at the order date from Amazon.

    • +2

i was having doubts myself so I called up zip pay. I asked them this question and they said they'll note it on my account as a guarantee in case i didn't get the cashback. might be a good idea to do the same.

  • +1

Digital version gone now. People are crazy about ps5. I wonder what will happen on the day of pre order Xbox series X ? 😂

    • I think they are cheaper than what most people expected. I actually prepared disc ver. to be around 1K so $750 AU isn't too bad…

    • Microsoft probably screwed themselves by not taking pre-orders straight away.

  • I have owned all ps versions, but never owned xbox, is xbox better than ps in any way?

    • +1

Only for Halo. My last Xbox I got for Halo only

    • +1

I've owned every generation of PS console and Xbox console. I prefer Xbox as i like the controller better and Xbox Live / Game Pass setup.

If I had to pick one i would go Xbox. But I always get both. Usually at launch since the wait between generations feels like an eternity. Nintendo I normally dont but also got the Switch last gen. Only console I ever regretted was the Wii. The gimmick wore thin quickly for me.

    • +1

You should base it on what exclusives/games you prefer. People are picking the PS5 because of the PlayStation exclusives

    • Xbox is more powerful. Expect the Xbox X to have an edge in multi platform games next gen. Game pass is good value if you have kids and you don't want to fork out for new games when they're bored.

    • -1

Nope and never will be. m$ never ever made quality games like Sony/Nintendo. Plus m$ is the cancer to the video game industry!!
Also, don't listen to those brain-dead xbots fangirls…

  • SSD capacity: 825GB 🤷‍♂️

Weird capacity, thought it would be 1TB

    • -4

It would be, they just don't want to be sued for deceiving customers. Once you take out formatting, and system files, out of 1TB you'd be left with about that as usable space.

Some stock here, but they are bundling it with an extra controller

    • The site is crashing.

    • +4

      For an extra $110

  • I bought around midday, I know the release date is 12th of November but it's showing "Delivery date pending" on my order.

Is that right? I'm prime and I chose Free Prime Delivery, I would like to know if there is anyone with any different information on the delivery, because I would like to receive at the release date.

    Thanks

    • +1

      Same as my order.

      • -5

its amazon, you won't receive it on launch date. I've never received a PS4 game on launch date despite pre-ordering months in advance.

        • +2

          I have plenty of times

        • +1

I've literally only ever received my games on launch date

  • +1

Managed to get one from gamesmen just now

  • Same still waiting to see what the delivery date is… I even brought faster shipping Priority Delivery hoping that might be better.

  • Harvey Norman and EB games, have pre-orders for the disc version live atm. Not sure about digital version.

Not gonna lie. That cracked me up.

  • Amazon warns PS5 preorder customers that consoles might arrive after launch day
    https://www.theverge.com/2020/9/18/21445789/amazon-playstati…

    • That is US article. Might not apply on Amazon AU.

      • explains why we have not heard anything from amazon..

  • +1

Will Amazon have this back in stock?

    • I hope so. Sony did say more pre-orders will be coming in couple of days.

      • *Sony USA did, unfortunately I dare say this is the market where excess stock will be sent

  • Thank you for pre-ordering the new Playstation 5. As an Amazon Prime member, you will receive a $30 credit for use towards a future eligible order.

Once your item has been shipped, a unique Promotional Code will be sent to you by email. The credit must then be redeemed by 14 February 2021.

    • Yes, I have received the same email just now.
      Hopefully Zip works too…

    • +2

      Hi, Mac from Zip here.

We'll apply your Zip credit after Amazon processes the transaction.
