"For everyone asking, so I don't have to reply to each person. Will probably have this deal again. Possibly 4k 27" as well. Potentially limited supply in a week or 2, more supply very likely before Oct end. Dgf 27" deal expected after Oct. No ultrasharp (u and p) series deals expected. Nothing is 100% confirmed, but Dell has taken an interest. In the end these are deals, so stock is never too large, nor guaranteed."

Anyone got any idea about shipping times? I also grabbed the 165hz model direct from Dell which arrived yesterday but was expecting mid October as well.

  • Hi Guys,
Will this be restocked anytime soon? If not could anyone suggest similar monitors with deals

Looking for a 27'' qhd monitor with height and tilt adjustable functions.

    • +1

End of oct, this deal will come back again.

      • Thanks. Will wait 2 grab 1

  • +1

Anyone got a shipping update on theirs yet?

    • +1

Nothing here and am wondering the same thing, especially since the most recent DGF deal has already shipped!

      • i'm also waiting.. i have a feeling these will take a fair bit longer as they are such a great price point, even without this killer deal. they are also perfect for both casual gaming and working-from-home purposes, so a much larger audience than the DGF. And the DGF is relatively average for a high performance monitor vs the competition, so less demand again.

    • Also waiting for shipping. Nothing yet, hoping something soon.
These sure will look sweet either side of my DGF.!

    • Nothing yet. Still showing delivery on 15 Oct

  • Anyone knows, if i cancel this order. Is it straight forward thing? Might get 4k instead

    • contact seller, they should sort it for you

      • Sounds simple enough. Never done in Ebay, yet

        • +1

i've done that many times. of course it depend who the seller is. i think for big company like Dell, you should not have any problem especially when the item is not shipped yet.

    • +1

I did, they were quite nice to deal with.

  • +3

    Received postage info just now.

    • Great news. Hope more will follow

  • +1

Also got postage info a couple of hours ago too :)

  • Seems like they are teasing me! I know it's basically like next day delivery once they dispatch, but hurry up already!

    • I can verify it's not next day delivery, has been waiting for 2 days. :D

      • +2

Star Track is almost always overnight - mine was dispatched today so definitely expect tomorrow.

      • Agree, have ordered quite a few things from Dell website, Star Track is 90% of the time overnight Syd to Metro Melb, even in Covid world.

    • Got shipping info! Eta of tomorrow.

  • My order status hasn't been updated yet.

  • +2

    Receive shipping info today.

  • Shipping info received. Estimated delivery 14 Oct.

  • +1

Just received my estimate from Minchinbury yesterday and received it first thing today morning. Was going to go bigger, but seems adequate. I am in Sydney. For the first time, Startrack actually turned up in front of my building and waited

  • Mine just arrived. The delivery van had multiple Dell Monitor in the back.

    • Did your neighbours buy 10 of them?!

    • Sydney or Melbourne?

  • +1

I really think the tracking system is having issues haha

okay onboard for delivery an hour later.

      • the delivery guy finally showed up however he said he forgot to bring the monitor with him…

        • +1

He just come to say hello? Maybe he miss you so much.

          • @ce5himm: His colleague made it!!!

Okay the new monitor seems more beautiful than I thought, however comparing to my iMac 5k which is sitting next to it all text just look blurry.

Should have bought the 4K Dell one.

  • Onboard for delivery. Yay!

    • Same - woohoo! Hopefully driver hits the NOS and gets it to me today.

Got them. Up and running now.

        • Nice! Received mine as well.. will setup after dinner.

  • Has anyone got G-Sync working with this? I've tried following the instructions here (https://www.dell.com/support/article/en-au/sln317977/dell-am…) except step 1 as there seems to be no mention of how to enable FreeSync in the OSD, but with GSync on i see a lot of tearing (Pendulum nvidia demo).

Is this monitor not G-Sync compatible?

    • For G-Sync, are you plugged in via the Display Port?

    • Yes I have it working. There is no option to change freesync/gsync compatibility in the menu of this monitor.

To get g-sync working you need to enable the following in the 'manage 3D settings' area in the nvidia control panel:

      1) Turn on v-sync globally (yes this is necessary and you won't get gsync without it on this monitor, vsync won't be active as we will limit FPS to be capped at 73fps and gsync will work from 48-73fps)
      2) Turn on FPS cap at 73fps in the global settings.

Then go into the set up G-sync page and turn on enable g-sync, g-sync compatible (I recommend for windows and fullscreen as some games may be running in borderless windowed mode)

Make sure the 'enable settings for the selected display model' is ticked on the gsync page, hit apply (if not applied already) and then exit Nvidia control panel.

Then in games turn off vsync, make sure there is no in game frame cap (only matters if less than 73, though) and marvel at how you now have 0 tearing and a capped FPS at 73.

It's been amazing for me so far coming from 60hz 1440p gaming, the extra 15hz and gsync is very noticeable for me. I also recommend turning the response time up to fast, as for me I noticed the smearing/trailing of objects more in the normal response time mode more than I notice the overshoot from the 'fast' overdrive setting. Both are still present, but IMO not worth paying 2x the price of this monitor for the S2721DGF just for the increase in refresh rate and response time.

Man how bad are the speakers in this monitor LOL! At least I'm able to plug in a set of JBL Duet III speakers from a 2015 era ozb deal.

      • Did you try the nvidia pendulum demo? I followed those steps and even though gsync was supposedly enabled it was tearing a lot, it looked better with it off!

        • Yes, I spent a while trying to figure out why I was getting tearing with the pendulum demo. I tried different display port cables, even tried HDMI which it won't work over. For me the one setting to get it all working was to enable v-sync globally.

As others have said, it will only work over display port cables and not HDMI.

Oh and this monitor has a VRR range of 48-75, so if you have anything below 48fps it will tear. Are you drivers up to date and you have a 10 series upwards GPU? It won't work on 9 or below series. https://blurbusters.com/gsync/supported-graphics-cards/

          • @studentl0an: Ok thanks, I tried again and it seems to be working better now.
I am using a DP cable and a 1660S GPU.
Do I set VSync to just On or Adaptive?

So yeah it seems to be working in the pendulum demo! i don't see tearing, but weirdly i don't see any difference at all between the 3 options (No Vsync, Vsync, Gsync). Do you know why this could be?

Also I'm curious about why the FPS limit should be exactly 73? (why not 74 or 75?)

            thanks a lot

          • @studentl0an: Oh, and I forgot to mention: so there's no option that needs to be enabled in the monitor OSD?

            • @shanghaistar: Vsync on, not adaptive.

Limit FPS a few below refresh rate cap so it won't go over and kick in vsync, which we need to enable to get v-sync working. If v-sync kicks in during gameplay you may notice a difference in input lag, as vsync can increase input lag significantly depending on the way it's implemented in game.

              No setting in monitor OSD.

You won't see any difference between those settings because 1) no vsync = gsync enabled (capped to 73fps because of driver settings), 2) If you enable v-sync you won't see a tear and have 75fps capped, 3) if you enable g-sync you won't see tearing and should be capped at 73fps.

You can download an FPS monitoring program such as MSI Afterburner to validate the results across this demo and other games. I recommend doing so if you haven't already and learning how that program works as it will help diagnose issues in the future.

              • @studentl0an: Thanks but I'm still confused about the pendulum demo. I have the gsync watermark enabled and it only appears for the "gsync on" option. So why is there no tearing with the other options? Anyway glad it seems to be working thanks a lot !

                • +1

@shanghaistar: It really doesn't matter what the demo says in a watermark. It's an old tech demo from before freesync compatible monitors were a thing and we are manually setting the behaviour of g-sync in the global 3d settings in nvidia control panel. What matters is if it's working or not, and glad it appears working for you now.

                  No worries, enjoy!

  • It just showed up, totally unexpected. Will setup tonight.

    • +1

monitor looks very good. however my laptop is too old, can not even do 1440p 60hz youtube smoothly. i have to pass it to my wife as her macbook pro handles it well. anyway good monitor. kind of happy that i did not go 4k or those high refresh rate one. all good deals.

      • What laptop is it?

I have some very old laptops that have no problems playing youtube 1440p with Intel 4600 iGPU in a 8 year old CPU. Infact I'm pretty sure it's fine with 4K media too, just not playing games of course. I think I have a 9600m GT in a 12 year old macbook pro that plays 1440p youtube no worries.

Is there something not working? Have you enabled 3d acceleration in the browser settings?

        • +1

It can play 1440p just not at 60 hz. Intel HD 520 graphics. Lol does not really matter, as my wife seems happy with a new monitor.

          • @ce5himm: Ohhh sorry I missed the @60hz part of the 1440p.

            Happy wife happy life.

  • +2

I setup them side by side on an dual arm. Look perfect, and quality not much different from my U2713HM. Better and cheaper than an $800ish 34" monitor.
Meant to be 1 each for myself and partner, but makes more sense to keep both and pass the old U2713HM to partner hehe

  • +1

Mine arrived today! I now have two either side of my S2721DGF. Went from a 1x27" and 2x24" 1080p set up.
WOW what a difference, more than double the screen space in going to 1440p

  • +1

got it today so happy with the purchase, the colour is way better than the dell 24 inch model, best working from home monitor for sure

    • +1

Yay, my wife is working right now with this monitor. I was ordered get out of the office.

  • Getting screen flickering on both screens with freesync turn on.

Primary monitor is connected via Display port. Secondary via HDMI.

Anyone else got this problem ?

    • AMD or Nvidia gpu? Could be the DP cable as mentioned here

      • thanks for responding LiMaa.

        RX570 with 1x DP and 1x HDMI.
Single monitor with freesync works fine
Dual monitors without freesync also work fine.

I tried the following combination with freesync and dual screens:
different refresh rate 60hz or 75hz
        different resolution
        different HDMI cables
        Monitor HDMI 1 & 2 ports
Updated GPU driver / clean install
—> getting shuttering/flickering when I entered any games such as GTA5, PUBG, Rocket League

my last option is to try a different DP cable.

        • Everything I can see points to a cable. Considering you have an amd gpu I don't understand why you would have issues with FreeSync considering it's native to your gpu.

          • +2

            @LiMaaa: I found a fix.
I use CRU to change the V rate range from default 48-75Hz to 47-75Hz.
If I use 40-75Hz I get 1-second black screen when entering a new page in the game.

            EDIT: V-rate 30-75Hz worked.

            • @wjb: Good find. Hopefully this helps anyone else facing the same issue.

            • @wjb: That's awesome, can hack the firmware to expand the variable refresh rate to 30.

I haven't run into an issue where I'm getting less than 48fps to tear with my 1070, but good to know I can drop it lower using CRU.

Unfortunately I tried overclocking the refresh rate but the monitor OSD brings up a message saying not to overclock. I wonder if that's Dell artificially limiting it as in my past experience - monitors will just have a blank screen rather than an OSD monitor message popup if I overclock past the limit. I imagine that if it could OC past 100hz that it may cannabilize a lot of the S2721DGF monitor sales and that's why it may have been locked down.
