  • I need some recommendation on a screen protector for my FE =)

Yep. Pinch to zoom out when your fingers are close together is a bit janky - try it in Google maps. Zooming in and holding your fingers in place makes the screen jittery.

Weird touch screen issue when the phone is charging where it seems like it is registering swipes as taps and just overall screen doesn't feel as smooth when scrolling.

      • I noticed it often happen after the phone charged, and sometime restarting will fix the issue.

Wondering what can we do about it , dont think this is something software update can fix right ?

        • +1

Yeah, I doubt software can fix this. I suspect it is a digitizer issue. Check out this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpHZsz3RHJY&t=160s I tried it and I get exactly the same problem. I can see random taps as well when scrolling with the phone charging.

Since this is such a widespread issue, I'm hoping Samsung will do the right thing and concede that this is a hardware problem and replace with a new working unit or refund. I received an email response from them regarding and they reckon the latest software update fixes this, which I highly doubt since in that video you can see he is running the October build. You should definitely report it to Samsung as I believe the more people complain the more they will do something about it. Here's to hoping we get an appropriate resolution. I'm super disappointed with this phone :\

          • @TypicalRole: I just tried the same test and got the same results, how annoying.

  • FML, I preordered the FE and the silicone case, but the case wasn't going to be delivered until a week later. No problem right? Just don't drop it for a week. The day of the delivery for the case I drop it and crack the rear camera module glass.

I live in a state without a Samsung store, and all of the independent repair shops I've called and taken it to say it's too new for them to have spare parts. On top of this, the Samsung mail in repair website keeps erroring out when it gets to the "estimated repair cost" stage, no matter what I say is the problem in previous step. I've emailed them to see if they can help, but I'm working if anyone knows of a spare parts website selling the back camera glass for the FE? Cheers.

    • That really sucks man, sorry to hear it.

I dropped my brand new Galaxy S7 edge on the first day of getting it when they first came out. Cracked the entire front screen from top right corner to bottom left. It was the only time I didn't want to mess around with deals or wait for an (oz)bargain etc etc, so just went to Harvey's and got it for the ridiculously stupid price of $1449.00.

I invented some new swear words and was a real ray of sunshine to anyone that talked to me that day lol.

Takeaway - NEVER buy from retail for RRP ever again… ever… (like…never…)

      • Big oof.
My saving grace is that I got this for the low low through an employee program, keeps me from feeling too sorry for my self.

    • Go get Samsung care for half price and replace it for slightly less $$

      • Where is this Samsung care half price.

        • Nevermind, found it, good looking out thanks.

Edit: Looks like it's not properly applying the 50% off, I'm getting $249.00 for my total, will try again later.

          • @Slakemoth: Yea it'll still be SC and whatever the trade in is…beware, think you get a refurbished device, not sure if too early for refurbished, you may get a new one

            • +1

@Archer12: Yeah that's my thinking, too early for refurb, and even if it is a refurb, it's a "new" refurb if that makes sense.

  • hey guys, got a 5G 256/8GB S20FE. Were buds supposed to be part of the deal? Some here say they have received them but I can't really find anything concrete? Thanks

    • I got the 5G 128, no buds. Did include a pre-applied screen protector which I'm still using.

    • Did you preorder the phone? I believe it was a preorder offer, got them with my 128GB 5G S20FE.

    • No - if purchased via the EPP site
Yes - if purchased via the Samsung regular store etc
