    I'd not call a 60Hz monitor a gaming one.

      • +14

It doesn't matter when it runs at 60hz… really…

        • +1

What graphics card are you using which can run 144 fps 4k games?

      • -2

By the way, more Hz means less overall lag

      • don't forget RGB

    • +1

      Not anymore anyway.

    • +2

Up until Nvidia 30 series there wasnt really such a thing as higher than 60fps 4k gaming

    • +5

Absolutely invalid neg - just because you don't think the name should include gaming is not enough. Would you care to share a similarly priced 144hz 4k screen?

    • where are the faster then 60hz 4k monitors?

      • Asus ROG Swift PG43UQ… its 3x the price though :)

    • It's 60Hz but at 4K resolution so what do you expect?. If you drop it to 1080p resolution then the refresh rate would be higher. Even my MSI 27" MAG272C monitor is 165Hz but it only does 1080p.

By the way you'll need an absolutely monster GPU to push over 60fps at 4K resolution.

It really depends on the games you are playing. I only play CS:GO and my Radeon RX 590 I bought for $240 can reportedly is also l handle up to 160-220 fps 4K with graphics settings on high (my 4k screen only supports 62Hz).

        • Yeah i know. Try doing it with a game like Doom Eternal. :)

  • +2

what makes this gaming, and worth an extra $270-$300 over Samsung 32 4K

    • +2

This monitor should be priced in that range. It's a poorly designed/constructed product marketed for "gamers"

  • +3

    This doesn't even have freesync

    • -2

      You don't need FreeSync when it's 60Hz :D

      • How many gpus you think would constantly cap 60fps 4k?

        • Good point. It just feels weird to buy $700+ monitor and cheap GPU.

        • When FPS drops below 60 it will be unpleasant with FreeSync and without. I believe FreeSync can make it a little less painful, but how much little less?

  • +9

Calling 60Hz a gaming monitor is a crime, let alone va panel.

  • +1

    Issue with product

    • what issues?

  • +2

    60hz rfr….lol

I have this monitor but the non 4K - 144Hz panel
    Runs great, good colours
But as most have mentioned a 60Hz panel really should not be named a gaming panel
I have put this panel up for sale as I am moving to the Dell 27" QHD 144hz (165hz on DP) IPS Gaming Monitor S2721DGF screen that i purchased from that great deal from LiMaa

Looking to grab a 4K monitor deal when LiMaa posts in the next couple of weeks to sit next to it.

  • Yeahnah
would be better off with this unless low refresh rate gaming is your thing.

  • Can anyone tell me what “HDR ready” means, I mean it either has HDR or it doesn’t, no?

    BS marketing speak?

    • HDR under 400 is like none (in 10bit)

      • what you want is HDR 1000

        • that's what i've already had thank you

  • MSI monitors on Rtings tend to be best suited for gaming and for nothing else, you could use that assumption with this monitor (they haven't reviewed this monitor specifically). There are better monitors for this price (like Dell S3221QS), unless you really need RGB and a USB-C charging port.
