Give it a plus then Tommy! ;)

Please note you have to be “Affected by Covid 19” to officially take advantage of this deal

The test is a tick box

    • Yap, when you proceed, it will have a message box and you need to click "I agree"

    • +6

Damn that's a thorough and hard testing to pass. Thanks for letting me know! Gotta warm up my right-clicking skills before proceeding.

      • +6

I’d do it with your left hand to further distance yourself from the process !

      • +1

Can I ask what do you mean when you say right-clicking?

    • +24

Does living in Victoria for the past 6 months count?

      • It does, you use your left hand to click and accept it will work :)

    • +3

Theatre tickets sell out twice as quick because of COVID seat restrictions. I had to watch Richard III with the Gods. So yeah I’ve been affected.

    • +6

I believe EVERYONE has been affected by Covid in some way or form.

Not my president; Trump is a strong leader!

          So this comment aged well…

    • Oh i thought it bad to scam companies according to some individuals on ozbargains. But it ok in this case…

      • Nick, I’m sure there are actually quite a few who will see my comment and not take advantage of this offer.

        Ozbargain isn’t a hive mind.

        • Ozbargain isn’t a hive mind.

According to many on here, it is.

I posted a couple weeks ago about taking up a free 24 hour test drive while my car was getting fixed, only to be told that I'm a scammer and that the car dealer don't scam people. When I told this individual where to go, he decided to report me to the moderators.

  • Great deal

  • +2

Few… I almost had a NOT AGAIN moment, bcos I did the AZ-303 (super hard, but I passed w/ 786) and also paid for AZ-304 yesterday.

    • What training did you do for 303 and 304?

      • +4

Watched A cloud Guru AZ-300 Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies 2020
Then read the free training here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/exams/…
And I use Azure and DevOps.
Had lots of tricky vNet questions and also a couple of things I had never heard/read about that I wish I could have remembered to look'em up.
Setting up a vNet > VPN gateways and DNS via console.
Guessed questions, so not sure what I don't know now.
Case study was about pretty easy > Contoso migration of on-prem to cloud > authentication/VMs/storage

Haven't done anything for 304, as I don't have the exam until Feb '21.

If you prefer instructor lead… https://azure.ddls.com.au/microsoft-azure-architect-design/ $880 each course is not bad.

  • +3

One of my friend tried this, you only get one exam at this price, any other exam turns to original price afterwards.

    • +1

Ok but if you can combine the ignite deal then that'd fine you get two

      • I completed 2 of the challenges but haven't got any exam vouchers. :(

        • after 15 Oct - I believe

          • @cristtos: if it really works use the discount voucher first and then if you fail you pay $21 for this not a bad idea

    • Use multiple email addresses/accounts ?

  • +3

Deal is good. I'm questioning value of having these certifications. Braindumps have destroyed any credibility MS certifications had.

    • It's a real mix. Like any industry certification they're good if you're working in a specific field, e.g. Azure and want to improve your skills or be more employable.

    • Its mostly to stop doors slamming in your face.

But annoyingly, a lot of the test exams/previews cost money now and lots of people say the test/prep exams are quite easy but the real exams can be very difficult.

    • exams cover overall knowledge of a subject, but one's ICT experience, sometimes, are very specific. Braindumps might be an alternative way to learn and improve one's skill with MS products effectively.

      • Brain dumps can only do so much.

If you are already in the field and have experience. It just helps you to pass. Nothing more. It's not hard to see someone just got certs with not much knowledge using dumps on interviews

    • +1

I think it used to be like this, but not so much anymore. A lot of JDs/ads specifically ask for these certs. Plus it forces you to study the theory. Definitely good to have.

    • I mean isn't that same with most multiple question exam's Also like the Cisco Ones?

    • +10

I've done more than 50 vendor exams over the past 22 years (Novell, Microsoft, Citrix, Cisco, VMware, Apple) and plenty of my friends thought they wouldn't be useful either. I honestly cannot say whether many of the jobs I got since were due to this or not - certainly none of them said, "Hey we hired you because you had a ___". The one exception would be a company that I worked for that needed an MCSE+Messaging and CCNP to slot in their Cisco Gold application and apparently in the entirely of the company I was the only one. So I got sent off to some nice training for a few weeks in a hotel, with classes that only had 2 people enrolled in them, and no exams to pass. In exchange… well… let's say THAT year and every year they needed to renew the partnership there were some nice perks - cash and otherwise. I also had my entire CCIE funded including access to a personal lab. I know this is only anecdotal, but showing you care about measuring your own knowledge and undertaking study and certification of your own volition is a valuable differentiator for you.

Obviously there are tonnes of people with certification that don't know anything and just weasled their way through. It's the same in MANY professions of course.

Being on the other end of the hiring these days I can tell you that in the level 1 and level 2 space most of the people I'm getting resumes for little to no hint that they care about self learning or growth of any kind in their resumes.

At the risk of rambling now, my humble advice to anyone considering certification is to "just do it" if you plan to pursue the kinds of jobs and organisations where it has value. Always on your resume demonstrate how you have improved over time and how you will continue to improve - especially demonstrate how you brought value into your previous positions. If your resume is a list of dates and times and dot points of duties then stop doing that now.

Thanks for attending my Ted Talk :)

      • Nice one mate,

kind of reminds of myself as well, 23 years to be exact since A+ days but the advice about the resumes is gold. I was forced to write after reading your comment and every word you wrote states experience. Hopefully someone else picks up the idea and maybe land a good job. But my theory in life is that education always helps you achieve something maybe later down the track but this certification does help immensely if one has hands on experience too.

Quality comment and Kudos! (I regret not doing CCIE back in early 2000s but maybe I will pick up all those lab notes from cisco academy and jump into it!!!)

        Cheers!

      • I think MCSD can certainly be useful. I have been in 2 companies where they had to have certain number of MCSD certified developer to qualify for MS partner program. I think MCP is less useful.

Is the free training/course 'Learning Paths' provided via the website sufficient to learn what is needed to pass these exams?

    • +1

You will need some experience using Azure.

    • +1

You should be able to pass AZ900 with the YouTube videos and playing with the free MS Azure subscription.

  • This is awesome, I am definitely going to take another Azure exam after completing Azure Fundamentals a few months ago.

  • +1

How many people use dumps to get through these exams ?

    • +1

      yes

  • +3

Don't pay for AZ900 though, they often give away free vouchers for that one.

    • FML, didnt see this. Just paid!

      • +1

Still a good deal. But for future reference, if you search on Ozbargain for 'Azure 900' you will find some deals. Usually have to attend a pre-recorded online seminar which you can just open in the background.

  • +5

Anyone have any good training materials for DA100?

  • Awesome, Thanks for this OP!

  • +2

Hmm, if only they would offer discounted Office …

    • WFH is more popular nowadays anyways…

      • Ha! I meant the Office suite of products i.e. Word, Excel etc.

  • +1

Not working for me, just getting an error while trying to schedule the exam.

  • I'm looking to take Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900). Already took the training for it but how do I know if I'm actually ready for the exam? Thanks!

  • +2

There is also an Ignite challenge free exam voucher offer if you can complete a free training course by 14th October.
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/micros…

    • What if you do the challenge but did not attend ignite what happens!?

      • ignite is online anyway but no, it does not matter, just register

    • Damn, came into this late. I wish this comment was pinned.

  • Ahh shame it's not free (ノ•̀ o •́ )ノ

  • +1

    Teams also has cert? Really?😂

  • Thanks for this. Bought one. Now to study ! (shame it doesn't have AZ-303/304)

  • Your move AWS

  • anyone aware of any free VCE player ?

  • So tempted, If I don't get free one from Ignite I will buy one. Maybe I will finally land a job, who knows… MS when passive-aggressive in promoting Azure over the competition. You don't get cheap exams with AWS, or even certification like A+ that are becoming so generic to be ignored.

  • Most companies reimburse this cost anyways. Dont use this unless you really need it I guess.

Got to appreciate Microsoft for helping the community!

    • Pair point. This would be helpful to people who affected their job by COVID-19

    • Most companies have cut budget on training due to Covid-19. I suggest use it when you can

  • I picked the wrong exam , is it possible to cancel and schedule another ?

    • +1

To make changes to your currently selected exam with the $15 USD exam offer, go to your certification dashboard.

      • Yes , thank you . I cancelled the existing one and booked the DA 100 . Got an email saying my initial 15$ will be refunded

  • which of these courses can realistically get you a job?

    • None. Your work experience gets you a job

      • Can any of jobs get me some work experience?

  • +1

I'm a 16 year old student should I do this because this is cheap

    • yes, why not? You might learn something during your break.

      • true. ill give it a go for 20 bucks

  • +1

    cannot book exam.
The PSI website says "You do not appear to have any exams that can be scheduled"

    • called PSI support team. They manually booked exam for me.
