  • It's not bad for the price, but a dual-core CPU running full-fat Windows 10 is a pretty hard sell nowadays (especially as that's the only part you can't upgrade later down the line).

Wish they put ChromeOS on these things instead…

    • Wish they put ChromeOS a lightweight Linux distro on these things instead…

      Fixed ;)

Must completely disagree here. The single core performance of this i3 is incredibly respectable. It's an entry level processor and to expect more is nonsense. It will do light multitasking, but the app you're working in should be plenty fast.

$600 for a solid single-task CPU, 6GB of ram (which is great for edge/chrome!), a real SSD, and a good tablet experience for travel/bed/kitchen recipe book/etc.

If you want basic use; email, office, Web browsing, movies. This looks like a great option!

No way on earth I would wish they had chrome on this thing.

Yes, I am still using a i3-4030U 2c/4t at 1.9 GHz with 60GB SSD, 8GB RAM and it works well with Win10. I have even used this for some engineering work as well. But things like Resolve are really struggling. I never use Chrome and use Firefox though. So, this 10th gen i3 should be much more than adequate for general use. 2in1 is an additional advantage and can't ask more for $600 delivered in current market.

I also checked MPN and found that RAM difference for same MPN. I think better to think it as 6GB and if you get a 8 GB, it will be a bonus.

Weird that the eBay listing says 6GB, when the dell.com listing says 8GB. Surely that's a typo? Are 6GB RAM sticks even a thing? Are Dell doing a 4+2? Surely it wouldn't make sense to offer 6GB and 8GB configurations in that case?

EDIT: ok I looked on their site and they don't seem to offer this model with 6GB RAM. So I'm going with typo.

Will this be decent enough for uni work and streaming Netflix/twitch etc?

    • +2

Will be absolutely fine for that. :)
Just don't be looking to run Crysis anytime soon…

      • Awesome. Cheers mate. My laptop fried itself on the weekend somehow. Found this deal but honestly don't know too much about computers. I have ordered as it seemed like a great deal.

This most likely has 8GB of RAM, which if this is the case, this is an AMAZING good deal!!

  • Did anyone's order get shipped yet?

  • +1

Received it today. It has 8GB of ram.

    • good deal then, isn't it? I didn't order it though.

    • When did you order? I ordered a different item from Dell eBay on the 15th and haven't even got an order number.

      • I ordered on the 14th. Got an email from eBay with order number straight away. Shipping notice on the 20th.

Is this supposed to run games (not new release) properly?

    • -1

this is not a gaming laptop and it has Intel UHD GPU only

      • Intel UHD GPU cant run the calculator game?

  • Hi, does an inserted SD Card sit flush against the edge of the laptop?
128GB SSD is too small for me but if I could add an SD Card without it getting the way it would be a suitable workaround.
