Judging a book by its cover, this deal is a good deal.

I wonder if the $20 credit can be used on the first 2 renewals? I.e. first 2 month's free?

    • +1

I think that's the case; that's how I read it.

So, $10 for first month by credit card.

      $20 additional credit then comes.

      Then the next FREE $10 for the next month - no c/c charge;

Then the next FREE $10 for the final month - no c/c charge.

Someone will need to be the guniea pig and try this out.

      • Yeh you might be right. You have to pay the first $10 during ordering.

      • I just tried to order… I think the "friend" need to be their existing customer….
I tried using my other numbers from other providers including Optus and get
"I'm sorry but your friend's phone number is not found."
anyone want to "volunteer" their number !? :-)

    • +1

I think not, it says "Save $107.70 $10.00/30 days First 3 renewals Ongoing $45.90/30 days"

Looks like the $20 credit can be used for store purchases at ozsale

Good detail, also note most Ozsale credits are crippled ie have a minimum spend before you can use a credit - spend $50 save 20

  • +2

    No lock-in contract

    Transfer your existing number

    No bill shock

    "Amazing" Optus Network

You should add that to the OP, OP

    • And the providers name in the title

Must order online by 11:59pm AEST 31 October 2020. Service must be activated prior to 31 December 2020.

    Not bad

  • +3

So $10 for 40gb per month for 3 months?
Then 45.90 per month after that?

    • Correct.

      That's how I understood it.

  • +3

Yomojo Pty Ltd is the provider. Also check out https://www.etel.com.au/super plans. Better bang for your dollar. They had a promo $15 for 25 GB for 12 months on Optus.

    • +1

      Nice detective work, KGB!

Yomojo used to be another provider too, I remember, but forgot its name :(

However, that ETEL offer no longer exists :(

    • Yomojo took over Yatango.

    • +1

"kgb007" think that deal was only for the first 8 months.

  • So $20 bonus credit can or cannot be used for the following 2 months service?
    Also shame no international inclusions.
Good deal overall if you don't mind prepaid.

    • YES WE CAN!

      However,

Someone will need to buy it and try it out and confirm specifically.

      • +1

Well that makes it a churn candidate alongside Bogan mobile and Belong

        • +1

          And Snatch Collect

          • +1

@spiff: Your snatch is tonight's catch.

Well except they don't do their cheapo three month deals anymore :(

  • How does the porting work? It asks for your phone number now I dont want to activate the SIM till after my current plan ends in December. hmm

    • I wouldn't Port anything to anyone without trying it out first with a brand new mobile number.

However, this brings another question - Will it come AutoActivated like Amaysim; or do we need to login and actually Activate it? If so, How long do we have? What happens after 31 December 2020 if we don't Activate???

    • +2

Pretty sure they can't port a number until you confirm a code that you receive via SMS. This is a new mandatory rule for all mobile providers in Australia.

  • +1

My concerns are about whether the credit card is removable, as catchconnect has now implemented removal (i.e. works similar to kogan), and if the excess credit which tops up at $2 is compulsory or not.

I'm interested in how competitors will react, especially looking at whether Felix can bring out some $2-3 a month plans, or even that mythical unlimited $10 1/1mbps plan TPG put forward.

    • Felix doesn't exist on anything but paper.

But you're right, would be interesting.

    • +2

From what I've seen with Felix they'll have one plan and it'll be $35 per month for unlimited calls/texts and unlimited data at 5mbps.

The cheapest plan in the market to date is Dodo's $5 for Unlimited Calls/texts (no data) but that being said an unlimited $10 1/1mbps plan isn't that far off given Telstra currently offer a mobile broadband 5GB at full speed then 1.5mbps unlimited for just $15 per month.

If you've got a dual sim phone (most new iPhones/Pixels) then it's possible to combine the two for $20 per month which effectively gives unlimited calls, texts and data at 1.5mbps.

      • Which telstra broadband plan is this?

        • +1

The 5GB extra small one on this page:

          https://www.telstra.com.au/internet/data-plans

          • @henrus: Edit: deleted, misread

          • @henrus: Cheers, had no idea the 5gb deal is really an unlimited shaped plan.

            • +2

@tunzafun001: Yep I've used well in excess of 5GB many times with the 1.5mbps perfectly usable.

If you're looking to get one and can wait a month then you might get lucky with another click frenzy deal (next click frenzy 10 November). I got my $15 plan for just $5 over the first 12 months:

              https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/538729

              • +1

@henrus: My average usage on 5GB plan is 130GB lol :D That $5 deal is the best, got $45 CR + Binge as well, they are paying us to use the service.

                • @bazingaa: Yep even at $15 it's still quite a good deal for the amount of data that's possible.

                • @bazingaa: Outstanding Ozbargain performance! What's 'Binge'?

              • @henrus: I missed that deal, and seems later Telstra offers have excluded the $15 plan… But hopefully!

  • OZSALE Credit will be sent to the e-mail address of eligible customers within 45 business days after the purchase and activation of the OZSALE Mobile plan

But $10 a month for 40GB is not bad deal, even saying $30 for 3 months

    • where did you read that?

      • term and conditions

  • +2

    According to OzBot Chat…

If you signed up for our introductory offer, you may qualify to get $20 Ozsale credit. You can use this credit to shop exclusive designer items at ozsale.com.au. For more details, you may check our promo terms and conditions HERE.

I was really hoping the credit can be used for subsequent renewals.

  • Want to sign up and activate it next month, but it requires you to put in your number now. A bit confused about the process.

  • Now the question is how they count GB usage?
In block of KB or MB or actual usage in bytes?

    • Clearly stated on the CIS:

Data is counted in kilobytes and includes uploads and downloads.

  • +1

Live chat told me $20 credit cannot be used to offset the exisitng plan:

yes that is right..for the OZSale account (https://www.ozsale.com.au/).. sorry for the confusion,,. it cannot be used to pay for your plan..

You can use it to purchase all items posted here https://www.ozsale.com.au/ except for OZmobile/sim card/plan

  • Looks like $20 for 3 Mo WITHOUT referral $20

They send you the code 45 days after you activate, so you have $20 to pay for last discounted month, rolling a measly $10 into the jacked up prices.

Even if everything is smooth, it still not as good as other plans

AND THIS IS CLEARLY POSTPAID NOT PREPAID

  • +1

where is the link for OzB referral system ?

    • @mods

  • +1

The bonus credit will be applied automatically once service is already active and you can use those credits after your 3rd month

from the live chat. For anyone who is considering the referral credit, it will not make your following two recharge free :(

  • +1

Anyone receive it yet? been 6 days without any ETA.

  • Iv gone to purchase and it’s asking to port number over
Does this activate the plan. Didn’t want to activate until my Kogan expires
