My notes:

  • Please note that letting the number expire and not recharging is eligible for cashback.
  • Please don't deactivate or port away until you receive the cashback. Deactivate means requesting Boost to remove the number.
  • Terms and conditions are from Telstra/Boost and apply to all cashback providers. Confirmed with the rep tightarse here, here and here.
  • Cashback is on the purchase of the physical SIM only. You can convert to eSIM after you receive the physical SIM. Activate the physical SIM first, then convert to eSIM.

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase, and must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable. If the SIM is deactivated prior, Boost may decline cashback.
  • Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. If there is more than one SIM in an order, it will result in an untracked purchase and the purchase will be ineligible for cashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on eSIMs, recharges, phones, bundles, accessories.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards for payment and/or purchase of gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • You must always return to TopCashback and click the pink cashback button through to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.
  • Any accounts that engage in fraudulent orders/activities to game/cheat the cashback system will be banned and cashback forfeited.

FYI: It may takes as long as 4 months for cashback to be payable your account.
I just had my cashback approved now for the purchase I made on 14 Jan 2025.

Edit: just received an update from TCB, :

Jan was an anomaly as we discovered an issue with Boost's payment file that delayed payment. Usually they're much faster.

So there was an now resolved issue with Boost, not TCB. Tracking was smooth.

  • I was ready to go for it until I saw that 'Cashback is ineligible on eSIMs.' It's a great offer, but not having eSIM support is a deal breaker for me.

    • +3

Can you just buy the physical sim and get it converted to esim?

      • Yes, that is an option. I was just thinking of instant activation with eSim.

        • +3

It's in the post description under My notes in the last sentence:

Cashback is on the purchase of the physical SIM only. You can convert to eSIM after you receive the physical SIM. Activate the physical SIM first, then convert to eSIM.

  • +1

just bought it yesterday with topcashback and put in a claim for the shopback $42 cashback :^)

    • Does that ever work? I thought the company (boost) would flag it somehow and reject one of the cashbacks?

      • Not very smart and a fast way to get your account closed across all cashback partners. Plenty have been caught out doing this and been banned with cashback forfeited. Very easy to identify shonky claims when pooled with retailers.

        • Haha, I figured that wouldn't work. I think I'm just going to go for a one pass mobile 90 expiry for $30. All these "deals" of late absolutely suck for me. Last year I got my 365day prepaid sim renewal for $60 through amaysim and I got it for $60 with cashback the previous year costing me about $40 after cashback. I can't find anything under $150 now, WTF happened to prepaid pricing? There seems to be no cheap options for people that don't need heaps of data… The most data I've ever gone through in a month was during the NBN issues with Cylcone Alfred and I still only used 15gb that month. On average, I use about 3gb/month of mobile data and I hate paying for extra that I don't need I still have over 100gb on Amaysim that has rolled over 2years lol.

@Tythefly86: To clarify what Emphasise did - he purchased via TCB then lodged a Highest Cashback Guarantee claim with us for SB’s $42 cashback, which was higher than our rate at the time. Hope this makes sense ☺️

            • @tightarse: What Emphasise did sounds legitimate to me. He was playing within the rules.
Why would he get banned? Am I missing something? :S

              • @AsukaST: He did nothing wrong at all. My response was to Tythefly86 with the assumption you could buy via one publisher and claim with another 😊

              • @AsukaST: Just missed out on $8

Outier always try to beat any-system…be it NON-transparent?

In the long run, the whole-system will collapse, eg profit deals for monthly-sim?

  • 30 day activation (plus other exclusions) is big caveat to this deal.

  • I don't recharge after 28 days and leave as it is. I will still get the cash back, is that correct?

    • Yes, eligible for cashback

    • +1

Yes, and the SIM remains active for 6 months after the last recharge.

  • What is the "catch" with these 3rd party cashback providers?? Is it easy to claimback or some people just can not be bothered?
Is it more or as profitable for the telco provider/reseller to just offer their BEST price and not go thru some "middleman"? It is also annoying for some customers to have to go thru this extra steps.

    • +1

It's just marketing. The company (telco) offer an incentive to 3rd parties to direct customers to their products. Cashback companies share that incentive with the customer. Overall the telcos get greater customer numbers and (usually) profit by doing this.

    • +1

Doesn't pay 100 % of time and some people forget about it so saves money for company that way

      • From the days of mail-in rebates, something like 50%+ either fail to redeem or are rejected for technicalities.

    • -1

NOVICE: traps are everywhere…read the last 3 months money-back deals for failed claims.

Follow ALL criteria to the letter, NO-exception & ignore SOME OzBargainers who deviate from the criteria, eg port-OUT mobile#.

~1 year ago, my thesis on these deals still hold true…mostly, lol.

  • Do you or TA know when this expires?

    • -1

When monthly stock run-out, or 19-May-25 as per noted above?

    • @Big-Deal 19th May is the expiry date for the upsized cashbacks which matches the expiry date on Boost website for the sales on $49 ($17 sale) and $300 ($255 sale) SIM cards.

However Boost website currently states 12th May as the expiry date for the $39 SIM card at $13. In the past, Boost has extended the expiry date of the offers.

      • Thanks Trixieb

    • +2

While it doesn't say when the upsize expires, if you visit TCB's page every day, it will show "ends in ## hours" on the last day.

  • +1

    Tracked in 7mins, thanks OP!

  • Just need this deal to repeat after 21st May and I'll be golden.

    • -1

Need a bridging-sim-service as the end of your monthly churn-sim unlikely to match the offer of NEW-deals, or one that has criteria & NET-cost acceptable.

Alternative money-back deal include Vodafone & who else ?

Lebara $10 for 70Gb-data via periodic discount: OzBargainers find too expensive & hence willing to risk money-back claims.

      • Just port out port in within like an hour, is fine (though I haven't done so with cashback before)

  • Not good for porting anymore

  • +1

Nice. I was looking at Boost on TCB this morning willing them to up their cashback.

  • Will i still get my cashback if i have to port out on the 1st June to another provider and then port back into boost?

I assume i cant buy the $255 to just recharge? Ill have to port out and then port back in.

    • -2

Will i still get my cashback if i have to port out on the 1st June to another provider and then port back into boost?

Fail money-back claim await you. Follow ALL criteria to the letter, NO-exception. Proof, read TCB-Boost deal comments for the last 3 months

    • @aCmilan89 Yes, cashback is eligible when you port out to a different provider and port back into Boost. The SIM starter pack is not for recharge.

      • I've always read it as "you cannot port out until cashback is payable into your bank account, in ~4 months". So can you port out once it's "confirmed" by TCB, or do I have to wait until the day I can physically pull the cashback from TCB into my bank account?

        • T&Cs from Telstra/Boost state "SIM must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable". Anecdotally some people ported out after the transaction turned "confirmed" and cashback was paid. It's up to you.

  • Hmm, got this error when buying the 28 day - 95GB plan from BOOST:

    SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG

We’re sorry but we’re experiencing technical issues. Please try again later.

    • Please see my previous comment regarding this error message.

    • +1

Change all details, names, DOB, email and phone number(irrelevant, give a fake) then on address, spoof it til it asks you to manually input it, and manually add address with a small typo the post office will understand, Whitehorse road becomes Wwhitehorse rd.

Then Payment method, change payment cards, gotta love Zip for single use digital cards.

  • Does this work when im with telstra porting to boost?

    • Yes cashback is eligible.

  • -2

Would never risk this knowing how unreliable many of the usual cashback suspect sites are on here.

Just wait until a plain old Boost discount where there are no hoops to jump through and no months to wait.

    • Never have there been discounts to match these kinda cashback deals. And Boost cashback is quite reliable from my experience

  • 290GB for until when do i have to active ?

    • +1

Offer ends on 19th May. For cashback, SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase. 18th June would be the latest to activate.

    • -4

Seems that you don't like to read the details @ this post & hence money-back deal is NOT-suitable to you?

      • -1

NOVICE: consider reading 1 - 3 months posts, the 3rd mths to be cautious. More than TCB-Boost deals. You're learning from others' mistake!

1yr down this road, I STILL read comments, just in case someone share an experience that may give an indication of the likely risk to money-back claimS (yet to be return to my bank), or to-proceed with the next churn-sim.

It's hard to interpret comments, unless you've taken the gamble. Also, when I RE-visit comments, I wonder if I've correctly interpreted? Good luck.

  • Anyone having trouble checking out with boost?

  • It looks like Cash rewards have very similar for the $300 Sim but $5 less cashback. So $210 cost, may be worth to keep cashback in one place.

  • So how long does it take for cash back to be received before we can disconnect?

    TCB doesn’t say.

    • TCB generally pays out after 3 months.

  • Evening all. This will be my first time porting so I don't really know what to do.

Me and the ball and chain have a boost Sim. Expires in 19 says.

Her data is gone already so she can port out anytime. Mine still has time to go.

How or who do I port out to? And how long do I have to wait to port back to Boost for the $205 deal to register?

Many thanks in advance just a first time porter!

    Cheers

Cheap-deals are designed to attract NEW services &/or customers, anything here that is suitable, including NO money-back claims & hence risk-free? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/search/node/sim%20plan%2012%20m…

      • Not answered at all. You keep commenting on other peoples posts.

I asked how do I port and what is the best method.

I then asked how long do I normally have to wait for the port to register as a new number.

You keep commenting on peoples posts with the same condescending answers. Your going to be told where to stick your head.

I dont need your advice on what a cheap deal is designed to do. If you have nothing helpful to contribute to my question then politely jog on.

        • +6

@warwagon86 Sorry for the late reply. Will try my best to answer as no one else has. (I haven't ported out or into Boost before. I'm a longtime Telstra customer and usually recharge or ask Telstra to port in and out for me within Telstra.)

How or who do I port out to?

Choose a business (working) day to port out/in in case of any issues.

          Port out of Boost

          • Port out to any other provider that is not Boost. For example $2 Telstra SIM card as mentioned here. Telstra owns Boost but they operate separately. Please note that other providers of $2 SIM may require a recharge (e.g. $2 Amaysim) but $2 Telstra SIM doesn't need a recharge.
          • If using Telstra, you can call, chat online or go to a Telstra store to port out of Boost into Telstra. You would choose to keep your current mobile number. Telstra will do an ID check. Info on porting to Telstra here.
          • $5 Aldi SIM is another option but someone encountered an issue mentioned here.
          • Insert the new SIM in your phone. When it works, you have ported out of Boost into the new provider. The time frame varies and is usually in less than an hour.

          Port back into Boost

          • You can activate online, chat online or call Boost to port back in. You would choose to keep your current mobile number. Boost will do an ID check. Info on porting to Boost here.
          • Insert the new Boost SIM in your phone. When it works, you have ported back into Boost. The time frame varies and is usually in less than an hour.

And how long do I have to wait to port back to Boost for the $205 deal to register?

          • You would buy 2 x $205 SIM cards ($300 290GB) as separate transactions for cashback via TopCashback website or TopCashback app to Boost website (not Boost app).
          • Tracking of the purchase in your TopCashback account can be as quick as a few minutes and is usually within an hour.
          • Boost delivery recently has been a few business days to metro areas.
          • The SIM cards must be activated within 30 days of purchase for cashback. This offer expires on 19th May. You and the ball and chain would be within this time frame from what you mentioned.
          • It may take about 3 months for Boost to pay the cashback. Your transaction under Earnings in your TopCashback account will show "pending" first, then change to "confirmed" and finally "payable". You can withdraw the cashback when it turns "payable".

Hope this helps. All the best.

        • -4

          @warwagon86, omg…motivation?

  • -3

How many can i buy per topback cash back?
    If i buy 4 x $13 sims, i will get $36 cash back?
And do i have to buy each SIM as seperate transactions?

    • There isn't a limit stated but Boost website may prevent you from buying multiple SIM cards. SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase. Please read My notes in the post description. The following is in the post description:

Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. If there is more than one SIM in an order, it will result in an untracked purchase and the purchase will be ineligible for cashback.

  • -5

this is unobtainable for me because of the boost issues not allowing me to complete checkout

  • I swear I tried 8 times with 4 different cards, changed names of my wife and me, different IDs, emails, phones, varied our address and it never works.

    • can't purchase or can't activate?

  • Is the activate within 30 days thing real? The sim cards always have very long expiries…

    • +1

Activate within 30 days to get the cashback/bonus data. You can always activate the sim later (before expiry) but you're then risking the deal offer.

  • Got my friend's details for the order and it still didn't work. So went with Lucky Mobile instead. Best=cheapest port option please?

    • $2 Telstra SIM. Please see my comment here.

      • Would it work with Telsim 2 dollars starter pack please? Found it online for 1 dollar only.
        Thank you.

  • Does anyone know if Boost’s data rollover banks up or does it only rollover for 1 month then expires?
For example if I have a 22GB plan, then have 10GB left after 1st month bringing me to 32GB for month 2. If I only used 2 GB leaving me with 30GB left, will 30GB rollover into month 3 or will it only be 20GB/22GB rolling over?

  • Seems expired.

    • The $39 SIM is no longer discounted at Boost. Sale ended yesterday. However the $49 SIM 95GB 28-Day is still discounted. It will cost $5 after cashback. Mentioned here.

  • Cashback increase. $57 cashback from TopCashback on $300 SIM 290GB 12-Month. Costs $198 after cashback.
