Really surprised by the quality and finish of the tools. Cantilever mechanism feels weak and toolbox needs to be opened and closed gently if you want to keep long-term.

1 year toolbox warranty says it all.
3 year tool warranty.

Need some space if you want to open both ends of the toolbox.

    Why did you post this!? Now I bought this and the electric set on clearance…Now I have 3 toolboxes, way too many tools living in an apartment!

      When you consider the toolbox-only retails for $15 does not leave much fat for the tools cost

      good enough quality as you don't plan on building a house from scratch.
      Great cheap set for a non-professional that will barely use it and most likely use it for building IKEA furniture.

    Does anyone have recommendations for a reasonable priced + decent quality socket & spanner sets? Just casual use so cant really justify snap on etc, but was wondering what the xiaomi of tools is, something that offers good vlaue?

      Grab a ToolPro kit from Supercheap when they are on special or on clearance. Good quality gear that comes with a lifetime warranty.

      • +1 I have a set of Sidchrome sockets I bought new in the late 90's, so unsure if it is original Sidchrome, Proto, or Taiwanese Sidchrome. They have done a bit of work - did most of my own car work all those years ago - and have always been dependable.

        Anyway…the Toolpro stuff impresses me, and mostly feels quite comparable. Certainly a good step up from the really cheap stuff, and yet reasonably priced. Recommended.

        ^this.. I bought this exact deal and have added a few other ToolPro add ons whenever I see them on clearance. So nice having tools that don't stretch and strip nuts when the smallest amount of pressure is applied.

      STANLEY, mine gets a good solid working, and i am a bit rough of them too

      Not the cheapest but good value, have to wait for SCA to have a special on them

      Stretch to a Bahco set, not a fortune but quality tools that you will have for many years.

    I had a similar tool box and over time it started to rust and I never used them..

    • If you leave them outside in the rain - Yes.

    • Wipe them over with oil and they should be fine.

  • I have a red metal toolbox that looks very similar to this, have had for around 25 years now, a bit rusty but still does the job.

  • Tempted but looks pretty big to store.

  • I've got this kit (bought it for 79) and it's a great kit for the price. The only flaws is the case itself which becomes loose over time and the plastic tray is easy to damage. The tools aren't the greatest but for the value I'd highly recommend. It's a set I'd take to a wreckers or fixing stuff in the bathroom.

  • Just to feedback here since I saw so many comments about getting a refund, I just got a message saying that my item can be picked up from a local store.

    I placed the order around 530pm that day.
