Shipping kills it, wait for ebay

I'd rather wait for an e-delivery. Last year I remember buying a subscription from Binglee for ~$75.

Definitely wait for this price. I feel that this 365 subscription will be cheaper soon.

    • I just paid officeworks $100 for one. It suddenly ran out and I used it daily so it was convenient. Code came instantly.

what kinda business model they operate on 9.99 to deliver the card. Great !!!

  • Had a chat with Microsoft asking for a discount code here's their response

Every store has their own promotional scheme and it seems that those stores has better prices with us. However, we do have our own set of tools promotions and offer. And normally they are offering OEM license that’s why they have that kind of prices. OEM meaning it’s a fixed software and it is not transferable or not re-downloadable.

What we have here on the Microsoft Store is a retail version meaning as long you have the email account associated on the software, you can transfer it if the first device is not working or crashed. We also offer 90 day's FREE Technical help with no additional charges and we are open 24/7 to assist you so there’s no need for you to go to any physical store to buy and for you to be assisted if in case you need help with it. You can just chat us back so we can help right away.

For some reason we do not have, any on going promotion for our office but the case was already raised in our Higher Management and we are waiting for an update.

Probably a reasonably profitable one. Aussie Post charged me (via JB) $1.99 to deliver a DVD case containing a license card for a game. In theory the package should have had an easy journey from Franga to the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, but due to the coronavirus, it actually ended up going up to a sorting centre in NSW before being shipped back down to Melbourne. Unlikely that AP made money on that delivery.

That's slightly disingenuous on the part of Microsoft. While it's true that it is still possible to buy OEM-licensed Office which is indeed tied to one particular piece of hardware, the vast majority of Office purchases these days are either via a boxed (probably medialess) retail product, or as per this deal, an Office 365 subscription product, both of which include entitlements to either reinstall on a different computer, or entitlements to install on multiple computers.

This Microsoft 365 Family pack comes with licensing for up to 6 family members, and each of those family members may use their entitlement on up to 5 devices.

That's not a free-for-all though - each of those users must be the primary user of those 5 devices, and the licence entitlement does not extend to commercial use - this is particularly important if you are using your personal computer to WFH. Using any of the Office desktop apps on your personal computer to do work would technically be in violation of the license.

  • That explanation of for windows software. This office subscription can be used in multiple devices

    • If you are eligible for MS HUP

Thought I'd mention this as it may help someone else…

I tried my employer but no go, decided to try my old uni email which is still active. It worked!

  • Whats the difference between Microsoft 365 compared to Office 19 or Office 16?

    • +1

MS 365 is a yearly subscription, you get the latest update etc. office 19 etc are perpetual licensed but you don’t the latest update and you don’t get extra OneDrive storage etc
