  • $700 / 12 = $58.33
So you are paying $30.70 per month for the 12 month plan?

    Plan includes 5G?

    • About $30.66/Month

      Plan includes 5G?

      Yes

    • -3

Can you explain more in detail how you paying $30.70 pm if the plan is $99

      Thanks

      • +11

        $99 - $10 credit = $89

        $89 x 12 months = $1068

        $1068 - $700 gift card = $368

        $368 / 12 months = $30.66/month

        • -5

          ++ iPhone 12 = $9999

        • Now to figure out what to buy at jbhifi for $700?

          • +2

@edBARGAIN: 700 is for iphone, 600$ otherwise or 39$ per month, that is how I understood the deal.

        • So what's the total monthly billing for this? Phone and plan?

        • In short. You can almost get a free phone with this deal if buying phone up to $700. If not then Cheapest iphone 12 64g is $1349. Works out to be $143.08 per month for 12 months. (649 + (89×12).
          Or mini $130.667 p/m.
Hope the deals keep getting better.

        • You can't apply the $700 to $1068.. Cause that has already been applied to the cost of the iPhone.

Unless your are getting the iPhone for free..

          Cheapest iPhone 12 is $1344.

          So $1344-$700 = $644.

So you still end up needing to pay $644 and $1068 over 12 months.

If you aren't getting the iPhone, then it's only $600GC.

      • Why is this being downvoted?

It's not intuitive on how the number 30.66 was achieved.
Thanks for the OP for explaining.

    • no its 700 off your iphone price. You still have to pay for the phone

    • @congo: Can you please specify which exact iphone model you bought and from which store. I will go after work today to buy. The details are not clear to me in your post.

      • Got the iPhone 12 Pro Max 256 for $2019.
Minus the $700 gift card bring the phone down to $1319.

$700 can only be applied to the iPhone 12 line up.

I called several JB in Sydney West and they all offered the same deal.

    • If I go to the JB website, they only mention $500 GC for $99/month plan.. has it changed since?

      • +2

the website doesn't show the great deal. you have to call up

  • I did this two days ago in store, $700 gift card is only against a new iPhone 12, otherwise $600.

    • +1

$700 gift card is only against a new iPhone 12

Ah, I wasn't told of that detail. But I did buy iPhone 12. I have updated the deal until someone else confirms otherwise

      • Is it just strictly iPhone 12 or the entire iPhone 12 line up

        • +1

          It's

the entire iPhone 12 line up

      • how much is iPhone 12

        • +3

          iPhone 12 prices.

    • +1

In my experience, you can refund the phone the next day and get the full gift card value back

  • +1

Is it for new user n port in only?

    • +1

I did as a new user.

      • Cheers

  • Do you know if they have a deal for the $69 plan as well?

    • Didn't really ask as I was only after this deal.

    • Yes, i saw in Chadstone but only $400 gift card.

  • Any $69 / month deal?

  • -1

I got this deal a few days ago with $1k gift card and $89/Month for 12 months. Got the galaxy fold z2

    • so yours is 89/pm + how much for zold 2?

      • I paid $1999 for fold 2.

    • +1

      Where ???

    • is fold 2 worth it, how often do you use the dual screen, or just a show off thing

      • I use the dual screen all the time. Will never go back to single screen again

        • what do you use it for, others say only use the front screen like 90% of the Time

          • @[Deactivated]: Watching videos and multitasking. Can open 3 windows on the inner screen. Its like having a tablet and phone in one.

  • Is this applicable for iphone12 pro max?

    • yes got one yesterday for my mother.

  • +1

Not the best deal…..they had $800 off recently and $500 GC for $59 plan.

    • do you think they will repeat a deal with something better this side of Xmas?

      • I wouldnt rely on someone's comment here.. It depending on the Telco

  • Does this revert to $99 after 12 months?

    • +1

Yes, that is how they suck you in. Telstra hope you’ll pay the lazy tax after 12 months.

    • Port after 12 months

  • When everything is digitalised jb is still like old government office by making them wait in stores, make them use telephone to speak to telstra to confirm the details , to get this offer

It should take them 1 day and 1 developer to add this plan to their website and make people sign up rather than creating hype as in store offer and creating queues at stores

    • Yeah, but I guess, they want You to go to their store, footpath traffic has positive correlation with sale. Similar idea with Coles and Flybuys offer. They idea is to create a habit in customer to keep coming back, in case of JB in person.

      • yess, bingo, didn't thought of that as jb's main benefit

Like tbh, who goes to jb anymore

  • Did this recently with the $69 plan and $500 credit

Interesting part was that I was able to then upgrade the plan without penalty on iPhone12 launch night so went for the $65 per month with 180gb as per their current promo and chucked the iPhone 12 pro on 12 month repayments.

Going to use the $500 on a new mac when announced tomorrow.

This only worked for me by upgrading via the app and not the full website as this is where the $0 upgrade was displayed (full site showed a fee)

Might be worth a shot for others out there

    • Urhg i wish i signed up to that plan too. Regretting so much atm, i hope they repeat the offer soon.

    • Awesome, I got the same plan, with the 10 credit. so 59 on the 80gb plan.

Just checked my account and upgraded to the $65 150gb plan , $65 after 50 credit

      • they did mention though you need to pay the etc

      • @ Saitken have you checked your email

I just received an invoice for what would be my first bill
it includes a cancellation for of $372

        Contacting Telstra now!

        • @Bagher, do let us know the outcome as i want to upgrade to $115 without ETC/Cancellation charges…

          • @Pushp28: Talking to them now, getting now where

Threatening them with TIO now, as there was no indicaiton the cancellation fee would be charged. As this is advertised as an upgrade not a cancellation

            • @Baghern: how did it go

              • @[Deactivated]: Hey guys sorry just came back to this comment.

As above my documentation after sign up showed the ETC but I jumped on chat via the app and they immediately refunded

You can’t tell someone after the fact IMO

                • @saitken: can you send screenshot of the chat

                  • @[Deactivated]: I have an interaction since so it doesn’t show that conversation anymore in the app

    • Hey thanks for the heads up on this.

I just logged in via the app and also the web and both say the upgrade is this.

      180 GB
      $115 monthly
      No lock-in contract
      $50 Monthly Credit - 12 months
      45,000 Telstra Plus Bonus Points

Is this what yours showed? Or did it actually say $65 monthly?
Just wanted to make sure the $115 it's showing now isn't already including the $50 monthly credit.

      • Don't do it, read above

        • was considering but nah

        • Thanks, I’ll hold off too!

    • Hi How were you able to upgrade the plan without ETC ? I need to do the same but Telstra said i have to pay ETC which is $594 for my $89 plan

      • same here

  • +1

Currently on Telstra but need to port out to start making use of port in deals again - anyone know a good pre-pair to hop on? Looking for about 15-20GB a month, think you need to port out for a month.

    • +3

They're was a really cheap Kogan deal posted yesterday for 3 months with heaps of data. I'm using that to tie me over

      • Perfect - just found it, thanks mate

    • hmm they say you need to wait 30 days

      • yeah you do - port out for 30 + days on something like a cheap kogan pre paid, wait for another good port in deal with JB GC and back on again

  • I think the $500 plan will come again soon

  • What's the ETC on this? and can this be used on Iphone 12 pro/ pro max on only Iphone 12?
    Thanks in advance.

    • +1

      $594
Can be used on iPhone 12 and any PRO

  • It’s iPhone 12 64G, I assume?

    • +1

      Any iPhone 12 or PRO

  • I'm using Telstra and plan to port out to other telco and port in again to Telstra to get this deal. Is there any minimum period I have to port out with other telco to eligible for this deal?

    • 30 days. YMMV, but i have never been able to port out and sign up before 30 days.

  • what if I am on existing telstra plan that has now expired?

when doing this deal then does it really come down $30.70 per month for the 12 month plan including the iphone?

these constructs are just there to confuse customers

    • when doing this deal then does it really come down $30.70 per month for the 12 month plan including the iphone?

It's how you see it. You either pay full price for the phone or the plan.

  • +1

man i wish optus would pick up their game and offer deals like this. telstra has flakey coverage in my area and the DL/ULspeeds are snail pace compared to optus.

  • May I ask is this nationwide or just for mel stores

    • I am not sure. Just call your nearest store and ask before going in

  • Does anyone know how the apps and subscriptions purchased through Telstra work if you port out of a post paid service? Ie if i wanted to sign up to the Kayo $15 per month 12 month deal (ive also got a 12 month free binge trial) do these remain active?

  • I just called Jb HI FI, Robin QLD and they are saying the plan is 700 off your iphone 12. Meaning you still have to buy the iphone.

  • +1

Just called JB, can only get this deal if signing up for new number with Telstra or must have been away from Telstra for 30 days

Good deal but also worth considering that the Telstra pre-order deal at the moment (until Nov 12) is 45,000 Telstra plus points which could be worth $450 if redeeming them for a good offer (valuation maybe 1c) + $65 a month for 180 GB

If valuing the Telstra points at $450 this is about on a par with that deal (effectively paying $30pm for 12 months for 150GB and no Telstra points, or $65pm for 12 months for 180GB with points)

    • Since you probably have one handy, name two things that are worth redeeming with Telstra points.

      • AirPods and AirPods Pro

        • just check, the pro is like 120k points? this telstra points business is useless.

      • Google Nest Hub would be another popular deal (30,000 points recently).

The points are probably worth less than 1c each in reality and the JB deal is better for those who can get it
