This is THE one right? The official monitor of OzB 2020?

    • Haha probably a joint title with the ultrawide xiomai (I have no idea how to spell it), but yes this one.

    Dell 32" 4K curved Monitor - S3221QS also on sale…Just bought it for $497

    • How'd you get it for 497?

      • I used the same code LOVEKEANU and I had a $60 coupon code from last purchase…

        • Nicely done!!

I'm on the fence whether I should get the gaming 27 or the 32 you just bought.

Vast majority of the time it'll be for office and website browsing with occasional movies… so I'm leaning towards the 32.

What made you choose the 32 over the 27 gaming?

          • +1

@montorola: I have the S2721DGF from the last deal. The 32inch 4K will go well for work and PS5 and easier on my eyes.

  • Is it possible to use a Dell 30/60 voucher with the purchase and still claim 10% cashrewards?

I know we can't use lovekeanu but what about the 30/60 vouchers?

    • Definitely won't work as coupons need to be explicitly included on the CR page to be eligible. Best to just use the LOVEKEANU coupon if you want to combine with the advantage coupons.

      • Cheers doweyy! Will forego CR and use the coupon then.

    • Used within a minute , must says guys here are fast :D

  • My s2721DGF flashes and flickr badly, and there always a horizontal line flashes between 1/3 to 2/3 screen every 2 mins. Ask for a replacement today, and got the email arrived by tomorrow.

    • THB if they got stock for replacement, how the estimate date will last 30 days lmao.

      • Because they replace with refurbished unless you kick up a stink

  • So I bought one from the last deal and there was some sort of muck up which Dell has kindly fixed. They've offered me a U2720Q as a replacement instead of having if wait. Wanted this primarily for gaming as a second monitor and already have a U3219Q.

What do you guys think? Should I stick or make the jump?

    • -1

Wow I would take the U2720Q anyday as a replacement :D

    • U2720q is 4k so if you want to play high fps shooters or your pc is not up to 4k gaming then dont do it.
It's also only 60hz… totally different monitor.

      • Yeah i know that. I don't really need another 4k monitor.

It's just worth more and the ozb in me says go for the higher value item.

        Argh

  • I just bought one. Will Dell send me a coupon today?

    • Pretty sure i read it somewhere says "20 days"

      • damn. I want to buy 2 more

        • Ha, if you manage to get the coupon today, please remember to save me the very last one after you purchase 2 more :P

    • +1

No, the coupon is issued after you received the item. Otherwise, you could cancel the order and place a new one with that coupon.

  • +1

So I'm confused, I signed up for Cashrewards, I clicked through to the Dell site… I just buy it there but how does cash rewards know I made the purchase from them? Do I send them a receipt or something

    • +1

Did you link your credit card on cash rewards? Then use that same credit card to make the purchase on Dell? If so it should be automatic and Cashrewards will show it on your Cashrewards account within 7 days.

      • +1

Thanks mate, just found that 7 day note digging through the FAQ.

I actually used the "Click through" online store, didn't see the Link card. Is there any difference that you're aware of? :) Thanks for the reply

        • +1

Sorry yeah my bad I've never looked specifically at online purchases but did now and yeah doesn't look like you need to link your card for online purchases. Now I do wonder how it is tracked.

Also looks like for online purchases you need to use the click through, I don't think a linked card will work for online purchases (although I've never tried).

    • +2

They're a part of an affiliate network and they receive information from the vendor regarding your purchase which links through to your original click ID. Very high level but that's the way I understand it.

      • Thanks for that :) I'll keep an eye on it.

  • Got the S2721DGF last time it went on sale. Nice to be able to play Counter-Strike and other games at 165Hz instead of the 60Hz I was previously using on my older Monitor.
Mine even says it was manufactured in week 36 of 2020, if hwinfo can be believed. Very nice monitor for the price.

  • Love the monitor but had a bunch of stuck pixels. Currently an absolute nightmare navigating dell support.

    • me too! bad uniformity! The advance exchange thing is bullshit.

      • Really? I thought Dell was pretty good with exchanging monitors?

        • Returns are ok but if you want a replacement its abit of a pain.

  • Use code: BONUS5 for an additional $29.96 off C:

  • How does this compare with the Ultrasharp U2515H?

  • thanks, got one with the Keanu code. hopefully the cashreward went through.

    • It wont work. You used the code

      • oh is that how it works? so you cant stack keanu (or the $30 discount code) with cashrewards?

not too fussed tho, ended up being 527ish.

  • do the dell vouchers work with cashback?

  • Noob question;

Will this do 120/144hz etc on the new Xbox no worries? It has all the right HDMI connections and what not?

And what do people think about this as a purchase considering Black Friday coming up and there being a month delay on shipping this item? Worth pulling the trigger?

    • Probably not re your first question… generally you get 60hz over hdmi except for really new stuff.
Secondly… if you wait for black friday how long do you want to wait for the monitor as the delay will be longer.

    • Short answer, no. 4k 120Hz needs HDMI 2.1 which this monitor does not support. Neither does the PS5 support 1440p output.

      • Yeah sorry should have specified - will the new Xbox do 120/144hz etc at 1440p output?*

        Apologies.

    • Yes, it can do that with XBox One X already so Series X would be no issue (Series S is fine as well). 1440p / 120Hz mode with HDR is be available when you use this monitor with XBox One X, Series S or X.

However, in terms of games, so far for Series X, you only have mostly XBox One X games through back compat. That means, most of them achieve 2K through 4K FSAA downsampled to 2K. However, that generally results in 60fps (using Series X, if you use XBox One X, it is 30fps). Sure, the console will essentially duplicate the frames to make it reach 120Hz logically, but the game will still feel 60fps. A number of first party games do offer dynamic 4K with 120Hz in multiplayer mode and for those you do get 2K/120Hz (even if it is through FSAA).

That said, given that it is 4K FSAA to 2K, it is technically better than 2K in terms of image quality, just not true 120Hz (for most games).

      • Appreciate the response. For a console gamer, would you recommend getting a 4k/60 monitor then? I plan to buy both consoles but likely not a PC.

        • edit: Sorry - you mentioned the games available right now through backwards compatibility can only achieve 2k through downsampling. As we get deeper into the systems lifecycle, are we going to see more (or any) true 1440p 120hz on console or will it be just more downsampling?

          Thanks.

          • @pharcyde: Sony PS5: No plan to support 2K mode. So, using this monitor with PS5, you have to use 1080p output (because this monitor doesn't support 4K).

XBox Series X: 2K is supported (as in there is a display mode option for 2K/120Hz). However, it is still up to the games. Thing is, most series X games will target 4K and won't have a native 2K mode implemented. So, in order for Microsoft to send the data to a 2K display, it performs supersampling (from 4K to 2K).

Microsoft does plan to have Series S targeting up to 2K/120Hz. Thus, it is possible that more future games will support 2K native in XBox land. BUT, it is unlikely the game will let Series X uses Series S code path so Series X is likely to continue down 4K supersampled down to 2K (if you choose 2K).

If you intend to use PS5 with your PC monitor, then 4K/60Hz is better. But if you are mostly going for Series X, then you could get away with this one.

The ideal monitor for next gen consoles is 4K/120Hz, but too expensive now.

Basically, Series X: OS level: 2K supported, Game level: most games won't so OS will do 4K FSAA down to 2K if you picked 2K.
PS5: No OS level support for 2K, it is either 1080p, 4K (and later on 8K, Series X will enable 8K later too).

          • @pharcyde: Regarding next gen, what we will most likely see is more 4K for Series X or PS5. There would be more push for 4K/120Hz, whether that's native or dynamic 4K.

4K downsampling to 2K is actually good for 2K, resolution wise. Though you get the same framerate as in 4K mode. With PS5, you are looking at 4K downsampling to 1080p on your monitor (or, if the game offers high framerate 1080p mode, just that mode).

The main issue is the 2K monitor, while does a decent job at interpolating 1080p signal, it still won't be as sharp as native 1080p screen. That's why you want the console to do it via the GPU for you.

  • Code if anyone is interested

  • Hi sorry if this is off topic but I'm looking to buy dell gaming laptop that is currently 20% off and saw that there is a new code BONUS5 would this work with Cashrewards or Shopback 10% cashback? Thank You.

  • coupon please!

  • Waiting to be refunded for missing out on the refurbished unit last night. Money taken but no order confirmation.

Hoping they can just sort me out a monitor rather than wait for a refund.

  • -3

Don't waste your time with this monitor, I've been using it for a few months now and not very impressed with the response time.

    • +1

It says "1 ms (grey-to-grey)" is that wrong?

      • +2

I don't think he knows what he's talking about

  • Hey folks, got a super specific weird question for this monitor. Does anyone have handy the USB 3.0 Upstream Cable that came with the monitor and if possible could you please take a picture of it for me / let me know what colour the tip is on the monitor end of it (USB B I think?)

  • I just went for the VG27AQ from umart @599 and then seen this.

  • Another weird question: what sort of cable do people use for this monitor? I just realised there's DigitalPort while I thought HDMI is the trend. TY.

    • +1

It uses both. DP is used for the high refresh rate. It doesn't use the new HDMI 2.1 cables (which is starting to trend now)

      • Am I right in saying that since this is a 60hz one, then a hdmi will be just as good?

        • Thanks R.R.P.
This monitor supports up to 140hz/165hz by the look of the title. I don't know if I should buy a new Displayport cable just for that extra 25hz, is it noticeable?

          • +1

@jus0212: Try it for free. Dell website states it comes with both HDMI and DP cables

            • @nataz6: Correct, it comes with both cables

  • Should I get a second one? I have a $60 coupon.

    • Yes!

      • But I already have 3 monitors on my desk, and another one stashed away …

        • Ok feel free to pm me the code pls =p

  • I am already on backorder for this. I have submitted a request for price credit.

  • Code is not listed on Cashreward, will this work?

    • +1

No, it's one or the other. 7% off instantly or 10% cashback.

      • Thanks.

  • Would love a coupon code please, will definitely pay it forward.
Can give away $30 coupon when I get it.
