      is what you're describing actually a competitor's product?

    • You need a google nest hub with an oven on back ?

  • Man this looks so good, if I needed one I would have snapped this up in a heartbeat

  • Is this a good price? I think my microwave is on its way out

    • I got it cheaper about 1.5 years ago.

    • It is. Been over $300 for long time

    • Yups … bought for 300+ 4 years back … never saw a price drop on 42L … going strong …

  • +5

    i've had this for couple of years, its a good mike.

  • +17

    I have this microwave and would not get it again. The fact you can't dial in an exact time is pretty annoying, the smallest increment is 10 second increments, want to zap something for 15 secs well you'll have to put it on 20 and manually stop it at 15. You will either love or hate the chime when the timer finishes.

    • +16

      I have had a microwave with 10 sec increments for years and it has never bothered me… Is that thee only issue?

      • +16

        Guess it depends on what you're heating, if you doing something heat sensitive like breast milk/formula then you'll see it can become a hassle. I think people need to be aware as it's unusual a microwave with a digital display won't let you dial in exact times.

        • +2

          yes fair call.

        • +3

          There's a reason why you're not meant to microwave formula or breast milk

        • +3

          Agree with donkat.

          There's a reason why you're not meant to microwave formula or breast milk

          And that's related to not being able configure seconds on a microwave?

    • +3

      Adjust the power…

      • +3

        Thats more of a bandaid fix, dont like think most people expect to adjust the power by 25% because they cant actually set it to 15 secs…,

    • +1

      You can't mute it either … recently discovered after 4years of use, when i had to use it a night … But overall its great from reliability and quality …

      • Is it one where it keeps reminding you every minute until you go back to it. Hate that about mine.

      • You can mute. Press "CLEAR" first the hold "AUTO REHEAT" until you see the screen say OFF.

        • +1

          There ain't any Auto Reheat on these models … I also asked LG Support and they said you can't mute it.

          • @ChipsChicky: See my other post below.

            Or if all those fail, get someone who knows a little about electronics (a little is all that's needed). Remove cover, locate the speaker (make the oven beep until it's found), disconnect power, unsolder and remove speaker.

          • @ChipsChicky: Try Keep Warm. I have this unit at home and it works

      • It's not great quality if you can't set the time increments lower than 10 seconds or disable the sound…

      • Try pressing and holding Clear/Cancel/Stop, then 'Keep Warm' for a couple of seconds, then see On or Off.

        Or press and hold different buttons like 0, 1, Stop/Cancel, one a time for a few seconds. Sometimes there's a hidden function. If it activates the child lock just do it again to turn it off.

        Or if you have a "Custom set" button press it, then 1, then 2.

        • I checked the manual and asked the lg support team online chat.

          • @ChipsChicky: Try it anyway. I've lost count the number of times company reps have told me one thing, only to find they were 100% wrong. You can always remove the speaker entirely. (See 4 posts up.)

    • +2

      Im with you on this.. it is a pain.. 10 or 30 sec fixed tines.. would prefer to select what exact tine i want.

      Chime is fine.
      Internal size is good.
      Seems to be 'more' steamy than my previous so there is more moisture buildup. Plus on mine it has a high pitched sound for the first few seconds

    Model explanations:
    MS-42-66-OBJ
    Range-Litres-Spec-Colour

    MJ = Convection + Inverter
    MS = Inverter

    42 = 42L (1200W) with sensor cook
    25 = 25L (1000W) no sensor cook
    23 = 23L (1000W) no sensor cook

    66 = touch panel + knob front
    96 = touch panel only, slightly lower RRP (but same spec/features)
    36 = touch panel only, no sensor cook (42L model)

    OSS = silver frame (black door)
    OBS = black frame (black door)
    DW = white

    Features are identical between models unless stated. Ranked highest RRP to lowest for each category

    • Bear in mind, the one with the knob at least doesn't have a timer function.

      • None of the NeoChef microwaves have a timer function..they got rid of that option. I guess they assume people use phones for this perhaps…

        • +1

          I was appalled.

          The National one with wood grain that I used to use had a timer!

    • I guess you can add to that DW=Black

    • MJ = Convection + Inverter

      Ahh I thought it'd play Michael Jackson music while you wait

    Got one a bit over a year ago from this deal. Happy with it for the most part. 10 second increments can be annoying when trying to microwave an egg that should take 17 seconds before it explodes. Shielding is lacking as my bluetooth speaker always cuts out when microwave is cooking. The finish jingle can be disabled if needed.

    • That's a much better price, if that deal ever comes back again for this microwave I'm gonna purchase it for sure. I don't mind the 10 sec increments as mine does 15 secs 😂

      My experience as well! In fact it takes out my wifi… lol.
      No one is allowed to microwave anything when we've got zoom calls going… haha.

      • Use 5G?

      • Thanks for this. Actually a deal killer for me

    for $220 i want my pizzas to come out like back to the future.

    It's a 2.4 GHz wi-fi killer.

    • +1

      This is my only issue with this mike.

    • If you have dual band modem then it won't kill WiFi

    • Are there any particular microwaves that don't have this problem? My Sharp microwave kills WiFi and Bluetooth. Very annoying!

    I don't particularly recommend this microwave but I can recommend buying from Jb Hifi!.
    I had this model and it died within the warranty period.
    I called LG support and they said to bring it to one of their third party service companies, and then be without a microwave while they repair it. Err no thanks.

    Took it back to the store and they gave me a new one (same model) on the spot without any issues, even though the price was higher at the time as I first bought when it was on sale.
    I didn't have the original receipt but I had the date of purchase and they even looked it up for me on their system and printed out the receipt.
    Had the choice as well to get credit towards any other microwave but I stuck with the same one.

    • +2

      Same, there is a known issue with the magnetron and inverter (I guess). Mine also died and got it repaired.

    Any difference between this and the one with the dial knob which sends to be more expensive?

    • The one with dial has SENSOR COOK function instead of Warm ۔۔۔ Though it has Warm Function, aswell but not a dedicated button.

    • i too would like to know what the difference between the MS4296O and MS4236 models..

      Apart from having a Dial Knob (which can be pushed in) and all the options are on the front of the microwave.

      I know the MS4296O has a touch panel with a slider on the front and all the cooking options inside/behind the door.

      which of the two is better for day to day practical use. ?

  • It's this flatbed

    • It has a rotating dish inside if that's what you're asking…

    Please do not buy this Microwave. It almost seriously injured my husband by exploding. Before the event I called LG customer service to report it was internally rusting after only 6 months. They kept telling me to clean it with UK cleaning products and assured me over and over that it was safe and normal.

    Only a short while later it exploded. Thankfully my husband got out of the way fast, or it could have killed him.

    Worst purchase of my life!

    • How did LG respond when you reported this?

  • I personally like this one, it dose not smell like any other ones.
    Do I need another one? NO
    Am I getting one ?
    Yes……

    Don’t ask me why….

  • Own a similar NEOChef. Different styling. Maybe an older model? Door puts a glass layer over the control panel. The wife and kids don't mind it,. I hate the chime and inability to set exact times.

  • not flatbed, its not modern technology

  • Does anyone know if its safe to warm baby formula the microwave. Whats the best way

    • sit the bottle in warm water, the best way is to make it fresh formula
