@BoosterAU I'm a hot shot Robinhood traders, I need 4 monitors setup for BAU usage.

Can the workstation handle 4 monitor setups config? Is it strong enough to hold 4 monitors bracket VESA mounts?

    • if you can afford this. at least you should use bloomberg terminal instead of Robinhood.

    • The workstation handle either Single screen support (VESA mount) 22-inches or triple screen support 24-27 inches usually, but feel free to be creating and put on 4 if you need. Just that you need to source your own VESA mount and ensure they all could fit in easily.

  • I could live 1000 years and still not understand why anyone thinks "racing car chairs" are the pinnacle of comfort. When gaming chairs/pods start advertising "designed in conjunction with Herman Miller" or the like then I'd look at it.

(These are really quite cool though, so maybe that's just sour grapes talking)

ditto with gaming laptops. Why do they make them so flashy! Thankfully that trend has died down but it was unbearable ~5 years ago

  • Out of curiosity, are they the same pods in Game Republic net cafe in Brisbane?

    • Yes! They are using the Veyron Workstation in the Sunnybank branch

  • I've never been able to recall the name of a high-end, expensive, unusual gifts magazine I used to flip through from around the late 1990's-early 2000's but,

They sold a similar gaming chair which was touted as, "immersive".

Essentially, the user sat in a chair such as this w/ a keyboard/mouse shelf attached. BUT, "the screen" was something like a 9ft diameter concave disc in front of the user which also continued slightly around on the sides— you were visually sitting within whatever was on the screen. The picture was projected from a unit mounted just ahead of the keyboard shelf.

I'm describing it with my nearly 60 yo brain, so….could be off a bit, but that was it in a nutshell. I cannot remember the d#mned name of that magazine (popular in the USA, where I lived at the time).

I've never seen anything cooler than that chair, ever since. I believe it priced then at 10-15k.

    • Yes, it is similar to what we had to offered, just that we refined it to suit to current trends and technology advancement. However, 10-15k back in 1990-2000 is $30,567.88
Adjusted for inflation, $15,000.00 in 1990 is equal to $30,567.88 in 2020. Annual inflation over this period was 2.40%. Pricing had double inflated but we still try to keep the product price as affordable as possible.

  • I got verbal warning just because I have suggested to my boss that we should upgrade to this workstation to improve the productivity. Dang…

    • +3

Pretty sure you're boss could be the person whom bought one under the company name and billing address but delivery address was a residential… ๐Ÿ˜…

  • -2

    This is a bargain? Gtfo

    • Standard RRP for corporate order are starting from 30k, while not as extensive as the functions and indepth customization. The pricing was almost ยฝ of what ABN/ACN buyer paid.

You won't want to pay the average Australian annual salary for one with full voice command right?

    • I do kinda agree with you (except for expressing it in a rude manner and the disgusting comments below). This is a bargain and admittedly would love to own one someday, however, it is a luxury product and such I thought (and even OP) would only appeal to the minority who have a decent amount of disposable income, especially now with Covid you'd think more people would be saving? Not surprised this product is popular, but it is ironic to be popular on Ozbaragin. But then again there are lots of people working from home.

    • Also, you literally disobeyed the first rule for using the negative vote, basically saying its not a bargain and not justifying yourself. I would defend my position below by saying something like 'well this a good bargain, but it is a significantly better value buying a generic desk and going all out on the chair, which has a 5-year warranty.'

  • can I pay with itune cards?

    • +4

How much people you need to scam in order to accumulate itune card with such amount? ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • -3

This is the biggest piece of shit investment

Being the only one who unvote the post. No need to be so aggressive and salty. While it might not sound like an investment for you. It's a good equipment for a lot of people whom work in IT/Media industry.

Here's a snicker for you, you're not yourself when you're hungry.

    • +2

      Same goes to you mate!

Still gonna give you a shoutout as you manage to seasoned so much salt on a post than saltbae ever could on a steak!

  • -7

Lululul. Bargain of the century. Iโ€™m sure you will find a buyer one day๐Ÿคก๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

    • +3

      I just ordered the Coding Pod 2.0, there's 1 buyer :)

      • +3

        I ordered one too.

  • It's actually not cheap. Coding pod, for example, is US $3,360 so their price is A$1000 above that even with the 11% discount! But ๐‘Ž that maybe the 1.0 generation and ๐‘ that may not include shipping. Anyway, I bought one - for ergonomic reasons - I have wife, kids and horses so not the "dan shen gou" segment they are advertising for.

    • +1

That's partially correct if you just look at the buying cost. USD 3360 converts to roughly AUD 4620, size and weight of coding pods are 2.3cbm or 220kgs when packed in pallet and wooden crate for delivery. Sea cargo charge 650-980AUD per cbm, so sea cargo cost AUD1495 - 2245 for delivery, air cargo charged by cbm or kgs, depend on which is larger. On this scenario which is kgs, DHL, FEDEX, UPS charge AUD 11-17 per kg, so air cargo cost AUD2420 - 3740. And that's before other cost like paperwork, 5% of import taxes and 10% of GST came into play.

As for "dan shen gou", we weren't 100% sure about the definition but from what we could understood is it's a nickname for those who are single for a extended period or doesn't not had a partner, please do correct us if our understanding of the terms is incorrect. We didn't not meant to offended or make fun of any single person. Just solely joining the fun and celebrate the chinese festival of being single. Hopes this helps with clarifying our point of standing!

      • Yeah, your take on "dan shen gou" is correct.

I mentioned that I bought one and I am not "dan shen gou" so others can safely buy it if they don't feel like a "dan shen gou". And yes, I knew I can't acquire it at US $3,360, otherwise, I wouldn't have placed the order with you guys.

        • Glad that we got the definition right! For a moment we thought it was something offensive and we might had insulted someone else without realising it.

      • How would one go about getting these workstations into their apartment if the doors and lifts simply aren't big enough?

        • We can split them into several smaller crates, just that you had to reassemble them.

          • @BoosterAU: Bunnyburger is just trying to talk themselves out buying this.

            • @xoom: Might have to talk the miss out as well if they're married.

      • +1

Well "Dan shen gou" translates to "Single dog" and, at least from what I've encountered with the term, is more for forever singles who want a relationship but are still always single like those who like to jack to anime in workstations, so it works out.

    • +1

Maybe they mean 'Single Dawgs'… ;)

  • These look pretty good indeed. I reckon most people would develop anxiety when they see it, especially if they use it for work. Could be used to pull the ladies maybe? ;)

    • +4

From our past experience with clients, they seems to get mens all in one place rather than ladies๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Hi rep,

Quick question; I am 198cm tall. Will these still be comfortable/ergonomic?

    • You probably need a customized size model to fit you in.

      • What sort of budget are we talking?

        • Around 8k for the veyron in introductory price.

  • -1

    obv joke post.

    • Obv joke comment.

    • +1

Why not try to get one then tell us ozbargainers if it's a joke

      • Wise choice, don't like it? Return it, just that simple.

        • don't think it is that simple, who's paying postage back, if it's the customer, it's gonna cost a ton

          • @ln28909: Unfortunately, yes customer had to pay for returned shipping. Not easy for us to have it shipping here and there while absorbing the cost or delivery.
Especially when it comes to change of mind, some are customize modification which makes it impossible to resell again as all product are made from scratch based on requested modification.

  • The mid life crisis in me think this will be a great purchase.

    • Here waiting for your order๐Ÿ˜‰

  • +1

If you find it expensive (I did! but bought one anyway), in the spirit of ozbargain, you can have a reclining chair $225 sold-out in front of a wall-mounted monitor that faces downwards which gives you the zero-gravity effect advertised.

    • Good hunt! There's always a substitute for everything.
