Thanks OP, missed first deal and wanted to do two numbers from Optus prepaid. Mrs needs a new iPhone, I might put mine towards a smartwatch
Good thing I waited for the offer to be upped from $400 to $500. Ported from Aldi mobile, easy process, got the gift card. Now just waiting for Black Friday to use it.
I took up this offer yesterday as I desperately needed to upgrade my phone. At first I got declined because I’m currently on Jobseeker, but because my mum is a Telstra customer I was able to port onto her account - win! I then bought $1200 worth of TCN HIM/HER vouchers to get the $60 cashback - that’s when the drama started. The vouchers wouldn’t load on the app, so
I’m in the store, trying to pay and then drive to ANOTHER store to pick up the phone, as it wasn’t in stock where I was but I wanted them to get the sale for being so helpful. ANYWAY, my phone is on 1%, no one at Shopback is getting back to me, so I have to go sit in my car with my phone charging. TWO HOURS LATER (and almost got a flat car battery), I’ve found out the issue is at TCN’s end (it took that long for Shopback to get in touch with TCN and for them to fix the issue [sort of]) and it’s finally starting to load. BUT to use instore they load as single-use Mastercards and need to be added to Applepay. Plus, only 8 can be on there at once, and I’ve got 12. That’s when Shopback decide to tell me they’re not sure if JB will accept multiple Mastercard payments. WHA?! They obviously knew this was what they became when creating to redeem instore, yet I saw that NOWHERE on the app and from first contact they also knew this was my plan. Unbelievable. I get into the store and ask the manager if that’s allowed - thankfully it is, or I would have flown to the Shopback head office and gone postal. I start to put through the cards, no worries, but when I come to having to delete the used ones and add the remaining four, there’s MORE drama (I’m already livid and I haven’t eaten all day, thinking it was gonna be a quick process 😩😂). The last four cards are stuck in ‘Your card is being activated’ mode in Apple Wallet and I can’t finish the transaction. Between my phone sitting on 1% and having to put through so many cards PLUS transferring the last four to Wallet, I’ve already been standing at the register for 20 minutes. I’m messaging TCN and also having to constantly go to the front of the store because the wifi connection at the register is not great. I’m also unplugging display ipads to keep my phone charged. Despite receiving an email and a voicemail from me with all the details AND contact from Shopback with the details, also, all TCN are doing is messaging me asking for my details and what the problem is, even though they have it ALL. I’m f$&@ing DONE at this point, it’s 7:45pm and I’ve been in the mall since 2:30pm (with the exception of two hours sitting in my car in the car park). After deleting, refreshing, crying, the final four cards FINALLY activate and I complete the transaction. JB HiFi Marion left that register open for my transaction for AN HOUR, as cancelling it and starting again would have meant I would have had to re-send the eight cards to Wallet and, well, you know how that would have gone. I profusely apologise for the 100th time and thank all my new best friends (can’t recommend this store any more - they were phenomenal) I hightail it to my car and begin the drive to West Lakes to actually GET THE PHONE. I’m there at 8:35pm, no dramas there, thank jeebus, and I even get a quick Woolworths shop in.
The moral of the story: JB HiFi Marion are all absolute legends; this is a great deal but you can’t get it on Centrelink payments; The Card Network are, from my recent experience, absolutely useless.
I now have a phone with a battery that lasts longer than an hour unplugged, resentment in my heart for TCN and love in my soul for JBs Marion.

All good, just arrived in my email. It was activated on Saturday afternoon 21/11 also recieved the first invoice today $59 to be paid by the 10/12 for the first month which is in advance going forward I assume.

Why would they offer you additional incentives when you stay regardless, it's about their bottom line at the end of the day.
