  • 6.55" screen, that's massive

    Snapdragon 665 chip, not bad

If you have a good spare charger then this deal is probably worth it. I'm not sure how you'd handle a warranty claim though.

    • HD screen though not FHD.

bought nokia 7 plus, used for a month, usb port unable to charge, loose soldring or design flaw, nokia mobile is not made by nokia anymore,

a new company called HMD, which was backed by FIH Mobile, a subsidiary of manufacturing giant Foxconn. Nokia sold naming rights to HMD

        • +3

I also got a 7 plus a few years ago and the charging port broke within a month of purchase.

Yep that damn USB C port. And no wireless charging on my model. It is otherwise build like a brick. Not a scratch.

  • I found the nokia 5.1 pretty good, however not water proof so RIP to that phone

  • Excellent deal write-up. Thank you!

Yep delivery issues and v slow cancellation with amazon uk. Still sorting out poco cancelled order. Have to wait 10 days for NAB bank to step in and reverse transaction as amazon uk do refunds and cancellations differently than normal payment process at shipping time usual method. They just let it hang and banks then reverse when funds not collected after 10 days. Idiotic method in my opinion so I wont buy off amazon uk any more.

    • My first attempt to buy one of these things from a previous deal failed. Apparently the packaging was deficient and the packages were falling apart in transit.
Because this deal is handled by Amazon AU not Amazon UK, I was able to get a refund within a few days of reporting the non delivery.
Hopefully they have fixed the packaging by now, so I have rolled the dice once more.

Would this be better spec than an old iPhone 6S?

I have one from Amazon AU - they're selling at $269 right now if you don't want do deal with international shipping from UK. It pretty much ticks all the boxes for what I want in a phone, obviously not after the latest and greatest. It being relatively inexpensive is a huge plus as I don't have to worry too much about damage/losing it and Android One is basically stock Android - it has received 3 OTA updates (Google security patches) since I bought it two months ago.

The only drawbacks for me are bad single down firing speaker (fine for speaker calls, but not good for music/media watching) and slow charge (10W) still a great value phone.

If you do get this phone, do yourself a favour and grab the GCam app (I got Urnyx05 working) and it will be able to produce some nice looking photos.

Also currently $279 with free delivery from Australia Post Shop if people prefer not to deal with Amazon.

My last couple of orders of this phone from Amazon UK never arrived after 2 months of waiting. Better to get it locally. TGG were recently selling it for $235.

    • Agree

  • I purchased this from Amazon AU recently knowing I wouldn't need anything fancy, but I'm very happy with it.

My requirement was: Dual Sim, long battery life and guaranteed updates.

The phone works well so far, only downsides I found: Slow charging and minor software flaws which didn't have a big impact so far.

As previously mentioned, people hat issues with shipment from the UK on a previous Amazon UK deal, so might want to consider that.

  • My wife had a Samsung S9 that she broke her front screen. I bought one of this for her, but you can't compare its screen's resolution and quality/ cam resolution and quality. Maybe it's a good mobile for its price but I recommend to not buy it for you have had something better than this.

Apples and lemons, not in the same league, not even the game.

  • The new James Bond looks… interesting.

  • Oh no! Here we go again!

  • 2 Negative points…
    720 p Screen… not FullHD
and Camara 13 mp back and 8 mp front.. which is out dated.
In this price you can get better.
