Tidal Music Streaming - Free 6 Months Hifi Plan for New US User (VPN Required)

3801

Came across this post from Reddit and I thought it is fantastic to share here. This is for Tidal Hifi plan which normally cost $23.99/month in Australia.

Full credit to Benzz1725

" Voucher code https://offer.tidal.com/voucher?code=WL25BAEN6X Must be from the usa to use this code, just use a vpn if you not from here.

Use your card you wont get charged until the trail ends, or you can use this bin 40606840xxxxxxxx and generate the cards via the website namso gen, zip code 10080"

I used free Hola VPN and a fake credit card generated as per instruction above. Work perfectly.

Cheers.

      Nope

No need to use a VPN to listen, only to sign up!
      Thankfully

      • +2

        Excellent. Thanks.

    • +1

No VPN for registration only. Can be switched off straight after and you are good to go.

      • Many thanks.

  • Thanks OP.

  • How many people from Beverly Hills is signing up?

    • +2

How many people from New York are going to default on their Tidal payment in 6 months?

      • -1

        West Sie-eedah!!

  • Thanks mate

  • How long until this offer is expired, right now I am on YouTube music free trial 😬

  • 6 month trial is pretty good deal, remember getting four months free originally.

Another option is to use a VPN, Argentina is 136 ARS =$2.35, and one month free.

Existing users may need to use a different email address, if you use Gmail you can insert a full stop anywhere in your address and it still belongs to you and receive emails to the same address.

It's a shame Google Play music is being discontinued, YouTube music is pretty disappointing but worth having premium for add free YouTube videos (and screen off operation) anyway

    • Damn that’s pre cheap.

    • Hi-Fi or regular?

      • Hi Fi mate :)

$24 is a bit expensive in AUS but full quality is nice to have since there is no simple way to stream my cds using foobar to Chromecast audio.

        • +1

          Damn.. $2 for this? That’s crazy…

    • yeah YTM is shite…. So many issues…fluctuating and at times really poor audio quality…. shuffle play is useless for some reason shuffles only recently liked songs…. Android Auto play experience is average too…GPM was heaps better. Thankfully I'm on the Indian YTM deal so not much of a damage to the wallet.

      • Yep agree 100% seems to shuffle only a few songs and the algorithm seems rubbish as in not playing similar songs half the time

Likewise, on Argentina. Was previously paying 12$/m for 3 years

        • Yeah the algorithm is worse when compared to GPM plus missing key features like saving your current queue as a playlist…

          • @Nickelback: No cast from PC as well is a deal breaker.
Tidal has that sorted quite well however doesn't do gapless. Always something..

  • Worked fine for me using my up card

  • Is there no user playlists on Tidal? When I search for artist and go to playlists, it all seems to be Tidal generated, not usernames.

Went through a big ordeal trying to cancel tidal, not worth it. Had to open PayPal disputes at they continued to charge despite the fact I’d cancelled before the end of a free trial and refused to refund.

    • Same issue. They charged my cc when I just cancelled the subscription. Actually it's two days in advance. Had to ask AMEX to cancel the transaction. Tidal is scammer.

      • didn't have any issue cancelling and joining up again

    • I used my real credit card details and cancelled straight away, but if what you are saying is real I totally support using a fake credit card number to avoid being charged.

  • Thanks OP

  • Legend, Thank you OP!
    Worked Perfectly well, great instructions.
    Windscribe FTW :)
EDIT : You dont have to complete survey after selecting to cancel, just exit the tab. You will have successfully cancelled whilst enjoying the amazing audio quality!

  • Great … thanks worked. Did anybody try to downgrade to standard sound from HIFI? Did it make the free trial longer?

    • I tried this and unfortunately does not work. It downgrades after the 6 months.

      • I was wondering the same thing. Thanks.

  • Got the free membership using above instructions. How do we get the app now? Play store ssys it's not available in your region

    • huh I just downloaded on mine

      • How did you get the app?

        • +1

Don't worry, found it on galaxy store in my samsung phone

  • thanks for the instructions! Now cancelling spotify for 6 months haha!

  • brilliant thanks

    I'm absolutely screwed lads.

    Express VPN USA: On

    Incognito Mode: On

    Nameso: On

    Bin: 40606840

    Postcode: 10080

    Tidal? Nah, Incorrect details mate.

How can everyone who is commenting get this to work except me?

    • did you generate credit card details using the link provided in the comment

      • -1

Where do you think these came from?

        Nameso: On

        Bin: 40606840

        Postcode: 10080

Plug these into the post's reccomended Nameso, get details, location is legit, but Tidal says everyone aint a real card.

If only someone else who got it to work can do it for me cuz im destroyed here.

        • Hmmm
Followed the op's instructions with the cc generator and it worked great.

    • Sent u a page of cards generated with Namso, just copy/paste with any name, zip as per instructions

      • -1

3 people tried to make one for me already, none worked, my name is cursed.

    • are you sure you have split tunneling off?

    • Use a post code that is similar to your post code. Usually adding a 0 at the end, or check Google for similar US zip code.

  • Worked. Thanks!

How does this work when BIN only provides the first 8 numbers?

    • Enter the BIN here - https://namso-gen.com/ and click generate.

      • -4

It's not helpful when BIN is only the first 8 numbers. You need the other 8

I got this working without using Namso, but another website that actually gives the full 16 numbers.

        • +2

If you enter this in the BIN 40606840xxxxxxxx including the X's it will generate the 16 digits you're after.

Good deal, but I mean who doesn't have Spotify premium or Google music already? It would be a pain to migrate to tidal even for just 6 months

    • I use it at my home desktop with an iFi Zen DAC, which supports MQA, as a preamp to my headphone amp. Sounds fantastic.

Not sure what quality Spotify premium uses, assume no higher than 320kbps which is usually fine for portable. I use it to listen to albums by but also generates smart playlists etc.

It wouldn't hurt to test it out for a while if it's a free trial. If you use VPN methods it's affordable to have a few. Haven't found a VPN method for getting Spotify cheap yet, but between tidal and ytm not sure I'd need it. Maybe handy for use with Fitbit

    • I use both. Spotify has an awesome recommendation algorithm and Tidal has the best audio quality.

  • Is there anywhere that lists what is on Tidal before you sign up?

    • +1

Not necessarily listing everything but you can search for things at listen.tidal.com without having to log in

  • +7

You can upgrade to the family plan and add 5 members to your account for free too. https://i.imgur.com/pYYiP8c.jpg

Just checked my account, so is it no extra at all to do so?

'You are eligible to upgrade to the new Family Plan. To continue click on the button below.'

    • Keeps on giving. Nice one

Worked for me, and maaaaaaan, it makes Spotify sound a bit ordinary straight off the bat. Listening to their 360 Reality Audio Live Experience playlist at the moment through a half decent set of cans and it sounds amazing.

    Thanks OP. Legendary!

  • Tried phone and laptop, chrome, incognito and Firefox. Tried nameso and multiple other CC generators.

    Even tried my own CC.

Get same error of credit card number being wrong.

Anyone care to share the fake CC details they used?

    • Or if using your own CC what Zip code do you put?

    • 4060684060868577|12|2022|224
      zip 10080

    • Sent u a batch

Thanks finally got it working by using a different computer at work my house must be cursed!

  • Thanks OP

  • Is Tidal still good if using $$$ Bluetooth headphones.
Or will you notice a difference when using wired $$$ headphones.

    • I haven't tested with bluetooth headphones but at least you'll know the source is the best streaming quality you can get.

  • Hi,can someone guide step by step how to get this please?

I am not sure what is VPN and how to use it:(

I have generated the credit card.bow where to use it?

When i click on link and there is an automatic code and won't work?

    • I think there is someone quick to neg than help..

    • +2

Mate download TunnelBear here I've got an Android phone hence the Google Play store link. Or you can get it via the app store on the iPhone.

Sign up with your email address
Once signed up open the app. At the bottom there is a drop down to pick the country (US in this case)
Click the connect switch and you are good to sign up

      • Thanks that helped and got it:)

I am all for bargains, but i am not sure about the fake credit cards crossing boundaries? In the past I was always told that kind of thing is not just bending the rules but taken quite seriously. Is this different from putting in fake credit cards that could actually exist. Like is this algorithm a known entity that is used for dummy examples of credit cards? Or is there a chance that you are using no.s that can exist? Is it accepted and allowed by the authorities like email generators or is it considered wrong? I havent heard of it before.

    • commbank seems to work.

You can also get a prepaid card if you are worried.

    • I guess it depends on your own ethics. Some people don't download music or movies because it is 'stealing', others don't have an issue with it. Lawfully, I have no idea. At the end of the day, these posts are put up for informational purposes and it is up to the individual to participate or not participate and no one should be dictating what anyone else should or should not be doing.

  • worked perfectly as described - thanks OP

    Thanks OP!!!
& if anyone is wondering - it's really easy to import your playlists from other services. Go here: https://tidal.com/import-playlist

Struggling to notice the difference between Tidal and Spotify on headphones.

I think you need VERY good equipment, maybe studio speakers to be able to tell the difference (if even then).

Obviously there is a technical difference. But many testers (even using speakers) have found no perceptible difference.

    • +1

Get a decent portable dac (ifi hip dac). And a pair of decent headphones. You'll hear the difference. It's a chain(source,, dac, cable and headphones). If one of them is rubbish, it'll ruin the experience.

      • Great little DACs for OC as source setups, i got the iFi Zen DAC which was$199 delivered at the time. Already had a DAC magic but that running the speakers.

I assume you have set up MQA? The sound of that is amazing at 88khz. The headphone amp output is still decent but already had a Matrix m-stage which makes it sound a bit more solid.

        • Sweet. Yep I don't know about the matrix m stage but always wondered how the mqa quality will be. Now I know

          • @Raj09: May as well test it out if you have that DAC!

Yeah the M-stage does the job, it was about $270 in 2011. Plenty of power, and reasonable, sky is the limit with audio gear though, but more than happy with the setup now.

ps. Already paying for hi-fi with via Argentina, probably not worth the stuff around to change to US for the free 6 months, after that would be back to the this as I intend to use it longer than 6 months.

            • @G-rig: Via Argentina? Good man. This is my first time experiencing mqa. I'll see 6 months down the line whether I will have more of it.

You are right about sky being the limit for audio gear. I also believe that there is the law of diminishing returns on audio equipment so it's better to get the best of what you can afford across the whole audio chain than invest a lot on only one part (dac or otherwise)

Which headphones are you using? Or you are using speakers?

              • @Raj09: I recently got the Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pros, still have the 990 Pros before that, probably no need to keep both. I've also got some closed DT250 Pros from years ago, great in a different way very flat don't tend to use them too much.

Also casting to a Chromecast audio -> CA DACMagic -> Yamaha HS80M monitors. Very nice. No vol control on the orig DACMagic but just use it for music and the apps/google home has sound control so no issue (although still have an inline master vol pot connected).

Yeah see how you go for six months, nothing stopping using a vpn then again, but you have to use a new email address.

                Cheers

                • @G-rig: Hahaha. Good man. I got the DT1990 since 2 months now. They are really good. I also have the sundara and my endgame :the focal clear. I don't have speakers as I will never be able to push them to the best in an apartment.

Yep will see in 6 months

                  • +1

@Raj09: Agree, the DT1990 Pro are great, and the DT990 were already good for the price but found a little harshness around 10k khz, not as much as an issue with tidal and MQA. Either way may look at selling. As far as diminishing returns it's hard to say the DT1990 Pro are 4x better but they aren't as expensive these days (have seen for $505 at one point on amazon AU via UK). They just sound right and have tigher accurate sound. Have only tried with the Balanced (harder) pads that came on them, but like the comfort of the Analytical pads (my 990s have also) and apparently a bit more 'fun'. Those sundara seem like good value and sound.

                    Cheers,

  • damn, have tried 20 CC numbers and no luck

  • Awesome thanks OP. Worked as you described

  • Long time Spotify user here…man can I just say the sound quality is so much better!

  • Many thanks Op. You are a godsend! This works so well

  • and a fake credit card generated as per instruction above

That's illegal if you are using it to gain something.

They are only legal for things like testing…

  • Superb job. Loving it. Massive upvote

  • Thanks for post and info on protecting yourself while accessing free trials
Lol at the reports for illegal, pathetic!

  • +1

Thanks OP, signed up and then cancelled, still have access to the service for the six months. Here’s the link to cancel the service:
    https://my.tidal.com/us/account/subscription

    • Thanks for this, I spent 15mins trying to find out where to cancel on the website.

    • Thanks for that. Can also confirm sub remains for the 6 months along with the family accounts.
