            @Merlict: Just don't do it, if you're competitive with fighting games.

            The polling frequency of USB, divided by 4, is noticeable if you're used to frame-exact cancellations (like in BlazBlue).
            For once, a wireless technology is actually faster ><

                @Merlict: Yep, both run at the default 125hz (8ms).
                If you start dividing that polling rate into 4 (so multiplying the input delay), you get significant time (8ms, 16ms, 24ms, 32ms).
                Where with Bluetooth up to 24 devices, they can all handle 125hz polling rate (8ms, so long as less than 24 bluetooth devices are connected).

                Yes, it affects any time you use the USB connection for more than 1 thing.

                For games with some level of 'warning' (mariokart for example, you can see the turns), your brain easily adjusts to the 16ms or so polling of 2 controllers being wired.
                But much more beyond that, or any game that requires twitch reactions, and you can usually feel it significantly.

                  I guess it makes sense since they'll all be treated as coming from the same IO for the CPU.

                  Does this mean that keyboards and mice attached via a usb hub are halving their polling rates or is this only applicable to the Switch/consoles without more advanced ports.

                    @Telios: Yes, likely, but not always. Some peripherals can negotiate faster polling; like 1000hz gaming mice which need drivers.

                    Some usb hubs "ask" for 250 or 500hz polling.

                    In windows you can set custom polling rates via the registry.

        If you prefer wireless and already have other consoles (PS3, PS4, Wii U Pro, xbox one s, etc) 8bitdo adapters are only a few dollars more at $22 (inflated because of COVID, you can sometimes find them for less than $15):

        We never bothered buying any $80 Switch Pro controllers because the PS4 controller is almost as good.

      They're technically not 3rd party; at least not in the traditional sense.
      Nintendo doesn't really do a whole lot of physical manufacturing, and the company is officially licences to create their controllers.
      It's not like madcatz or such where it 'works with {console}', this is official switch branded equipment.

      And yes, I've tried them, Felt 1:1 with my gamecube controllers.

          Connecting this controller, to a wiiU, and connecting a wiiU to a Gamecube would be one hell of a daisychain and homebrew scenario to re-output the input commands.

          I chuckled too; if you've ever programmed for either console, even though the question is a mistake, the magnitude of what hes asking is a good laugh.

          Its the project size thats funny….Like… "Can my 3d printer hot end cook a steak".
          i mean… yeah! But…. Imagining the magnitude of writing that GCode is just brutal!

      This has digital triggers only, so you'd be using the controls remapped like the Pro controller

          I believe any Gamecube controller now works with the OG control scheme if you use it through the Gamecube controller adapter

          Probably have the best luck with proper Nintendo ones though

    Got the blue Zelda smash style controller from eBay EB shop and had a $5 off code so it ended up being $12.48 pick up.

    Cant complain to have a spare controller for that price.

    My 2 cents after trying the controller out for half n hr

    L n r Triggers feel v diff to gc controller

    I find fast falling a little harder with pdp, but short hopping easier compared to gc. This is for smash

    Otherwise pretty much the same but the black link version looks bad ass compared to any other controller including the official gc controller

    Order from amazon and got it today in regional Victoria.
    These controllers are certainly not bad for the price not as good as official game cube controller however better than the typical Chinese knockoffs.
    Can't go wrong for $17 to $25.
