  • Before anyone puts this in a NAS: Make sure it's DR (Dual Rank) and not SR (Single Rank). I made this mistake with a 16GB stick and my Qnap TS-453D NAS didn't boot whatsoever. Returned it, got DR, and we're off to the races.

I believe the same applies for Synology NAS's too, not just Qnap.

  • Delivery isn't free with Prime unless you spend $49+. Cheapest delivery for me is $7.12 making it just over $40 total.

For Synology, get Crucial CT8G4SFS8266 from Amazon AU for $45. Tested working on Synology DS220+.

Despite CT8G4SFS8266 being SR, it works. Dont think 8GB comes in DR.

    • Tx man.. these seem to fit in my laptop :) getting 1 on Sunday

    Pity it’s not 16gb :(

    Pity it's not a tesla…

  • I got 2 and will sell the 8gb one in my laptop. Got free shipping and I think you need the same model ram for dual channel to work properly.

  • Can you even contact the seller; I'm new to amazon and I cant see where you can?

  • Would this work with my 8 gb 2400 ram or should I go for the same 2400 speed for the second module?

    • +1

Dependent on compatibility, however Crucial kit is usually pretty good with other items - note though, they will both operate at the lower speed unless you mess with the settings. Additionally, dependent on the motherboard, (like my own for this purchase) may be restricted to 2400Mhz anyway.

      • Yeah the motherboard caps at 2400 MHz pretty sure so it'll reduce the speeds. Just wanted to make sure there was no compatibility issues here.

  • how to get free shipping?

    • Could order two? If you are filling a dual slot lol?

      • tried that still seems to want delivery?

  • Awesome, ta - bought a pair of them to replace the current single channel - doing so got rid of postage costs, cheaper than any dual channel kit (2x8) or single channel 16GB kit i could see.
