  • Thanks op, Keen to know if these would be any good to look at the moon etc…

    • +1

I think the other one posted in OP is better for looking at moons/battlestations.

It has a bigger aperture and a bit more zoom. However you will need to put it on a tripod as it will be too heavy to hold in your hands.

This one is good for portable use like bird watching or people watching ;)

  • Dis good for looking through 2nd storey windows?

    • Recommend you move to drones or hacking web cams.

      • Already tried that. Have to go back to primitive techniques :(

        • Go for 8x70. Won't regret.

  • How do these compare to the bushnell legend 10x42 that were popular here a while ago.. Eg https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/477822?

    • I have the Bushnell, optical wise it is great but after a few years oil start to leak from inside and eventually gets everywhere. Maybe just my luck but the risk is there.
If mainly used as hand held, I find 7x,8x more comfortable than 10x due to the hand vibration. If you don't mind the price, Canon 10x IS (Image Stabilized) model is superb.

      • The Bushnell Legend binos have a lifetime warranty

  • i bought celestron 8x42, it may get better view than 10x42 ?

    • 8x42 will be less magnification but brighter than the 10x42
